  1. I was eating scrambled eggs with cheese for breakfast' date=' 2 oz smoked turkey and 1 oz cheese rolled, dinner is sometime of baked seafood usually crab cakes or red snapper. I tried chicken twice which good stuck and a few other solids which did the same. I tried going out to dinner with my family and only ordered appetizers, which did not go down well either. After eating 400-500 calories and then 600-650, drinking my Water and being active, the scale did not move very much. I have since stopped eating or have gone back to liquids. Yesterday was Easter and while my family enjoying the typical items (ham, turkey, Mac n cheese, vegetables, and having dessert. I had yogurt and 1 crab cake. I have spent days just eating yogurts and Gelatin 20, or Protein shakes to meet my Protein goals. However, there have been days where I took in only enough protein and Water to sustain myself. It has definitely been a tough road.[/quote']

Do you have a recipe for the crab cake? Is it pretty healthy?

  2. I am having some stomach pains that started last night and I'm just really hoping that it is just gas. You ever try to jog and get a cramp just right of your belly button? that's what it feels like but it's only when I move. I've been taking gas x but it's not working. oh I am 7 days post op and have been doing tremendously well up until now. I went to target with my mom for like 3 hours yesterday so my bf says I just did to much yesterday and I need to just take it easy today but I'm getting nervous about this belly pain. I was not expecting to wake up with it. My doctors office is not open yet but I promise that I will call I just wanted to check with you guys first to see if you all experienced something similar. thank you!

  3. I am scheduled for surgery in the am and I was just looking through my instructions and realized that I was suppose to be on a clear liquid diet today!! What have done!?! I didn't eat a lot today but I still ate! I'm waiting with baited breath for the on call Dr to call me and let me know if my surgery is off. omg!! this is worst than the last 3 months of waiting! I thought today was just no red dye and nothing to eat or drink after midnight! Somebody tell me this is a crazy dream! What were your instructions the day before?

  4. In less than 24 hours I will be getting ready to embark on a new adventure. I truly can't believe this is happening! At first I thought I wouldn't be able to do it, you know the whole lifestyle change but here I am stepping out on faith. God has been so good to me and I know He will continue to do so. I just pray that He continues to watch over me tomorrow and allow me to have a speedy and healthy recovery. I also pray that He watches over all of you guys as you embark on your journey. March 12...my reset day! I promise to make all my friends and family proud of me and to not waste my blessing. Moreover, I promise myself that I will never abuse you the way I have for so many years! Never again! Well, wish me luck. :D

  5. I'm getting sleeved on tuesday and I definitely had food FUNERALS! But I'll tell ya... it just made the start of liquid diet so much harder. It was very hard on me so much that I had to call my therapist. I regretted it so much and wished I had implemented at least part of my liquid diet w/o over doing it. I was feeling as if I'll never see some of my favorite foods again and not realizing I'll see them again...just not as a pig! You are very wise with your decision to start your diet early. Best of luck!

  6. I heard the same thing from two of my friends (both over weight). One of them said her moms friend had it about a month ago and had to go back in the hospital due to complications (but shes 20 years older than me and smoked for like 30 years). And my coworker says her aunt is a bariatric nurse and told her about all the complications. I just changed the subject bc I don't need to hear that crap 2 weeks pre-op...I'm scared enough. Plus ive done my research. But I'll be interested to hear what they have to say 6 months from now. I won't be surprised if they are asking for my Dr's name and number!

  7. I would probably be crying right now if my family wasn't in the room after I read your post. I've been saying the same thing to myself for 2 months now but I've been so scared to say it out loud. I'm scared period about everything but I'm just realizing we have never showed more strength and courage with this decision we've made. Yes, its more extreme than going to gym and eating right but guess what...we've tried that too. We've tried fad diets, get skinny quick diets, crash diets, injections, pills, dieticians, personal trainers, etc, etc, etc! We need this. We need to be released from this bondage that we call a body. We need to know how it feels to be healthy....we deserve it. I dont know how old you are but I'll be 35 on April 10 and this is the last birthday I'm going to spend being depressed b/c I'm morbidly obese! (5'5" 275) But you have to get in your head that this is it, you're done chasing the fat person in your mind away. One thing I'm making sure I do for as long as I have to is getting a therapist that I see on a regular basis. I struggle with depression too. I was molested by my father so I know I need to address those feelings that I've tried to eat away all these years. Bottom line is we've got to look at this blessing as a new chance at life...a new life. I've let one slip out of my fingers I can't let a second one. I'm committing... fear and all.

  8. You should be fine eating the chicken and cheese. The tortilla and lettuce might cause you real grief. I'm not a super strict carb counter but you might be. If you're not' date=' the yogurt parfait might be a nice carb splurge, and the oatmeal would be good for a nice Fiber boost (you're likely not getting much at seven weeks out).

Salads are hard for many people. I still cannot eat iceberg and I'm more than two years out. I can eat other greens but I'm not sure they offer those options at McD's.

Online menus are your friend. There is a balance to be learned as far as eating well but living a normal life is also important. Find the middle ground and do what works for you.
