  1. It is just so unfair to yourself to compare to others. While you may not think so' date=' you and your history are completely unique. As is said, get rid of your scale. It lies to you. It isn't measuring what you want it to.

Are you looking to lose weight or fat? What does the scale measure? I weighed once a month and never had to deal with any anxiety with what the scale said. I highly recommend everyone do the same.

As long as you follow the guidelines, you will lose. You just have to know that over time, if you consume fewer calories than you burn, loss will occur, both fat and muscle, so be sure to stay with the Protein. Also know that stalls will occur and it is completely normal. Even desired, if you think about it. Do you really want a body that doesn't have the ability to go into starvation mode and look out for itself? I'm happy to know that my body responds exactly as it is supposed to in these kind of events.

Thanks,I needed that,I will have my husband hide the scale and bring it out once a month

  2. Well I went from band to sleeve. The band didn't work for me only loss 20lbs over 5 yrs.Decided I wanted it out and my Dr suggested the sleeve.I was sleeved 12/31 and have lost only 12.5lbs.I do feel like I am doing what I should be doing ,but I have been stuck at 186.7 for about a week and on this site I read so many great losses till I feel like a loser all over again.I was praying the sleeve would work for me.especially with a 2nd surgery .I thought it would be a win win ,can't get much in that mean you gotta lose.I keep hearing be patient it will happen, but will it happen for me.just felt like venting today

  3. I had my surgery on August 22nd' date=' so I am a little over 4 months post op. This summer at 5'3 my consultation weight in July was 231 lbs and I am now 155 lbs - putting me down 76 pounds! YAY!

I try to post monthly and this time when I was coming up with a picture to post I was just looking at pictures of my boyfriend and I from the summer. I think about how I felt this summer in pictures (insecure and uncomfortable) and how I feel now (confident and energetic) and I'm just very grateful. I've really appreciated his support throughout this process and looking at the pictures just made me feel grateful that I've had such a great support system, not just in him but in my entire family and my friends. I feel like it has helped me immensely. This surgery has just showed me that I really am lucky to have such great people in my life!

I hope everyone had a great holiday! I always enjoy seeing people's pictures, so I will post some below!

Picture 1: Sister's graduation party in July
