  1. I am 2 weeks PO. I will start my Protein Wednesday for guess how long....6 weeks. Yep you got it. So I have to be very creative.

I drink the Isopure with a Crystal Light packet and it makes all the difference in the world!!!

I bought some Torani SF syrups to add to the powder. I will do at least one a day and the Unflavored in my creamed Soups. This is going to be very interesting to say the least!

Oh BTW' date=' I did ask if I could advance and the answer I received was a flat out No. I'm not upset about it because I do not want any repercussions.

    You can do it![/quote']

I never thought about mixing the Crystal Light in the Isopure. I tried Isopure alone and it took me 2 days to drink one bottle.

  2. Near the end of the liquid phase it does get VERY hard. I got to the point that I cried when I was faced with another Protein shake. For the first two weeks after surgery' date=' all I could have was Protein shakes, Water, Decaf coffee/tea and V-8/tomato juice. Other people had it worse with only Clear Liquids. If you are tolerating the liquid diet well, you do have the option of asking the NUT to transition you early to the next phase. Many of us transition ourselves early, but that has risks so it is better to clear it with your doctor.[/quote']

I might have to do that. I am tolerating liquids very well. I have another appointment tomorrow. I just don't want to over do it. I would rather get my liquids in and just skimp over the protein powder, liquids and shakes. I will try getting the muscle milk in today...it's a stretch. Maybe if I add something to it, it will taste better.

  3. Is it really that awful? I am going to have surgery on April 16th and I've found a great shake at costco that I've been drinking. It's called Premier Protien and has 25 grams. The chocolate is wonderful. You can also find it online. Also' date=' the vanilla one you can add fruit (a bit) to it and mix it up.[/quote']

I have not tried that brand since I'm not a member at costco. If I can find it elsewhere, I will give it shot...thanks!!

  4. Hey guys' date=' hang in there. I too was not feeling the Protein shakes but i had to keep trying different varieties and flavors until I finally found one that I can tolerate. It is so so important to get at least 60 grams of Protein in your system a day. Cream of chicken Soup was so good while I was on liquids. You can do this cause u have no choice. Change your mindset because if u believe u can't do it u won't. I was where u were at too. I just made up my mind that this is what I wanted, and now that I have did the surgery I'm gonna make my mind up to do what I gotta do. Stay in touch and lets get that protein down. I have no regrets and neither will u. Take care ladies and good luck.[/quote']

Thank you so much for the encouragement! I just felt like venting and it made me feel better..lol. My only struggle is that darn protein stuff. I don't want to waste more money buying stuff that I won't drink. I heard someone say try the unflavoured Protein powder, so that's my next purchase today. Just so I can try harder to get it in. Thanks!!

  5. I had my two week follow up with the surgeon. I only lost 12 lbs postoperative' date=' and I am so disappointed. Although I have lost 25lbs in the last 4 weeks, those numbers sting badly. The surgeon said that I lost at a good pace, but I only see others talking about 20-30lbs in two weeks. Am I alone in the way I feel? I can't get over my feelings of failure. I have surgery and still can't lose weight.[/quote']

Don't compare your weight loss to others. That's a big no-no. Please know that it will take time. Celebrate your losses and try walking a little more to increase your exercise goals.

sleeved 2 weeks - how are you feeling in general???

sounds like all is going well

if you are having no problems with drinking - i see no reason not to use a "regular" cup/glass

    using a straw???

hmmmmm - check with your NUT/surgeon

the straw was nixed for me - but all docs and nuts are different

whats good for the goose' date=' might NOT be good for the gander!!! :)

    take care

    continue good luck[/quote']

Not quite sleeved for 2 weeks. Its been 8 days exactly today. I feel great overall. I'm now on to creamed Soups and they're going down well. I get my staples removed tomorrow and I'm happy about that.

  7. I known your question was to bunny but thought id chime in... Hot tea was always a fave of mine but now my new stomach just loves the warmth. It really helps me keep my fluids high. I like green' date=' white, oolong, chammomile and even straight hot water! I like it fairly weak so if using a kcup, i use two smalls which is 16 oz....requires a big mug. I like it with no sweetner. A tea bag in a regular coffe cp is just too strong and tends to make people want to add a sweetner.. Again, i head for those big mugs.[/quote']

Thank you for sharing! I'm heading to my kitchen now to make some chamomile tea & will use 2 K-cups. Thanks!!

  8. Yeah...those squishy plactic hospital pill cups were not good but i really like the 1 oz measuring shot glasses best ...available at Walmart or bed bath & beyond. I used them a week or so then moved to a Water bottle' date=' glass or cup for tea. I did not drinl soda so never was hooked on a straw so its easy to avoid them. I took no chances with a straw since doc said no.[/quote']

I have not had soda in 7 years. I used to love drinking Water through a straw. I'm sure it will take some time to get used to drinking without one, but it'll be ok.

  9. I drank from a little one ounce cup for the first week or so just so I could track how many ounces I was taking in and to get used to taking smaller sips. After that I switched to a normal cup with no problems. I dont use straws though. I was told that they put too much added air in the already really small tummy and I didnt want any gas problems. I actually stuck with warm liquids because my tummy would spasm with cold liquids so I got hooked on hot green tea from the start. Congrats on your sleeve :)

    Do you sweeten your tea?
