  1. Just finished my first cup of the Unjury chicken soup and found it to be pretty good. Much better than other protein options I've tried. Not something I would choose to eat on a regular basis but I think it will help get me through the next few weeks.

My chicken Soup Protein broth from unjury arrived mid afternoon and I'm having a cup right now as I type. This is the way to get protein. It's pretty darn good and no gagging it down like my Protein shake this morning. My plan is to do the protein shake in the morning and the soup for lunch and dinner. The combination will get 65 grams of protein in me. Hope I still like the broth post surgery. I can do this. We can do this. PS - thanks for the words of encouragement!!!
  3. Mine was just delivered today. Having it for dinner so can't tell you yet but it smells pretty good. And, I've heard good things about it.

This all liquids pre-op diet sucks! I don't know how people do this for 2 weeks. So glad my doctor only requires 3 days. I'm starving and the thought of another Protein shake is just not appetizing. I went to the gym at noon (could tell I was weaker than usual) and I'm getting a mani pedi soon so hope that takes my mind off of how hungry I am. So far today I've had a Protein Shake for Breakfast, some sugar free Jello, some chicken broth (so not the same without the chicken, veggies and noodles!) for lunch and 2 sugar free popsicles. I've also been drinking Water and grape propel. My stomach is not happy at all. And, it's only day 1! Sorry to be so whiny - hopefully tomorrow will be better. How is everyone else doing? Hopefully better than me.
  5. I like Better Oats. My Trainer recommended it to me and it's really good. Won't be on my diet for awhile, tho, since my surgery is this Friday. :-)

Well done sticking to the plan. That was a lot of temptation and not easy I'm sure. We are almost there!!!!
  7. 4 days pre-op so I took a nice long nap after a killer session with my trainer! It's storming now so no neighborhood smells to tempt me. :-)

    May 28, 2013 surgery!

    Good luck to you both!!!
  10. I don't have answers to your questions but can tell you I too have all kinds of things going on in my head as I prepare for my surgery on the 31st. I think that's normal (hopefully). This is a great place for support and I wish you the very best on your journey. Sounds like you've come a long way so far which is super encouraging.
  11. Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Best wishes to you on continued success!!!

1 week from today we will all be sleeved!!! I plan to take my phone and post as soon as I can after surgery. Would love to hear from each of you as well. Found some protein powder today that I like and can mix it with water. Hoping I can get the stuff down after surgery!!! Have been reading a lot of the post surgery posts and sounds like folks hit a stall in week 3 if they aren't getting enough protein/calories down. Just want to do this already!!!

    Tomato soup

Not sure about tomato soup. In week two, I'm allowed to do blended lentil, black bean and vegetable soups. In week three, my surgeon green lights the following (as tolerated): - eggs - Natural nut butters with no sugar or oil added (peanut, almond, walnut, cashew) - Soft baked fish (cod, tilapia, whitefish) - Mashed potatoes (no skin) - Low-fat soft cheeses (cottage, string or sliced) - Canned veggies or fresh cooked to mush (no added salt) - Canned fruit in their own juice - banana

    Quinoa, can we?

My doctor's office has Quinoa on my shopping list starting week 6 post surgery. I'm still pre-op so I can't speak from actual experience, though.

I love how positive your coordinator is. My skinny jeans are in another closet. Can't wait to pull them out (or go buy new ones)!

Hangover III was awesome -- almost as good as the first one. If you go see it, make sure you stay past the closing credits so you don't miss the funniest part of any of the movies. Didn't think about my surgery at all during the movie.

OK May 31st sleevers (and Erics 300 - May 29th sleever) - how is everyone doing? Any words of wisdom or encouragement with 1 week to go? I just made a lunch date with a former co-worker next Wednesday then realized that I'll be on my pre-op liquid diet. I checked the menu where we are going and there is nothing that I can eat. Trying to figure out how I'm going to explain why I'm only drinking Water. Guess I'll say I'm on a water diet. (I'm not telling anyone but my husband and personal trainer about the surgery). Wish I didn't have so much time left to think (overthink) this thing. I've never had a surgery that I had weeks and weeks to think about. I know we are all going to get through this --- just seems like I can't think of anything but this right now. Trying to keep busy but it's always there. Seeing Hangover III tonight --- hopefully won't be thinking about it then. :-) Enough about me..... How is everyone else doing?
  18. How did it go? Hope you are doing well.

    Any pre op diet tips?

OK - I need to read more carefully. At first I thought you were saying you ate Kit Kats for your pre-op diet. I was sooooo jealous.
