  1. Hello sleeve sistas and brotha's!!

Surgery was June 19-- 290 lbs

    Today: 231 lbs

    Started dec 330lbs

It's been a year for me... That's why I've been Mia for a bit... With my husbands brain injury one month before surgery, then surgery... I've been playing catch up for the past 3 months...

    I'm hanging in there!!

I started out size 24. Today I'm wearing a 14!! So excited about that!

Bertha (my sleeve) is very temperamental.. She has good days and bad days.. But over all she had been having good days..

Glad to see everyone is doing well... Please add me to the June FB page: cheryleholmes @ comcast.net.

Did u start using protection after surgery. I heard we can get more fertile after surgery so I was just wondering. Have I me ruined having to use condoms for the first time since college is a pain in the a

I just stated BC this week, 36 hate condoms and until I'm done with rn school... As much as I want a child... Grrrr... It will have to wait... Use something...

  3. Hi everyone. So I've been MIA for a bit: doing real good: I hit a 5-6 week stall just broke through ..., current totals:

    HW: 345

    Doc starting wt: 330

    PSW:290

    CW:259

Woot woot! My first goal is 249... I'm 10 lbs away. I've started training for a 5k I'm sept and another in nov.

My semester starts in a few weeks and that means swimming and cardio kickboxing. I can't wait!!

  4. June sleevers would like to know how much weight have you lost. I think I'm loosing weight to slow my surgery was june 10 lost 26 pounds the first month. No complications@ all no pain only gad. Feeling great! Share

Today is my 4 week sleeversary I'm down 27lbs. I'm a night shift worker so the biggest stalls I see when I'm come off if my work week (3 --12hr night shifts in a row) I loose inches during that time, I believe it's just my body adjusting to extra fluids while I work because its so dry. Also, my natural clock is off, so going back to sleeping a normal schedule I drop a few lbs...

    I'm happy with my loss.

I start kickboxing and swimming in a few weeks!

  5. I went to my 2 week follow up today and was ok'ed for puree foods ( 2 wks) ' date=' however I was reprimanded because I was very low on my calorie intake which was 340 a day

So my Doc said my body is in starvation mode and will not release any fat at all. He has me now at 600-800 good calories 80g of Protein and 15g of carbs no sugar. Oh I have to eat 5-6 xs a day thats not counting Protein shakes and Water intake..... Over all I was harming myself :-( but he said I can turn it around and reach my goal!

Now can some one tell me how to get 600 calories in please because I dont know how....its so weird before I could eat a piece of cheese cake or a burger and there was my 600 calories :-) please HELP.....![/quote']

I'd like to know the same thing because I'm only eating 150-250 cal per day...

  6. Hi guys and gals.. Well this Wednesday it will be 3 weeks... So far I've lost 18 lbs... I'm not sure of that's good or not... But I'm happy... Got a little bug so today I did not feel well at all...

Other than being cold--a lot! I've been feeling great! I've had two times where I ate too fast and made my self sick, but its a learning curve...checking in to see how everyone is doing::

    HW:345

    SW:290

  7. I got the same thing about week three. I had it about 10 days before it went away. I has it for 6 days and then got a secondary sinus infection. I went on an antibiotic and today I feel better. It sucked' date=' but it will be over soon![/quote']

I'll be 3 weeks Wednesday and I came down with a stomach bug today... No vomit but diarrhea..:( hope it doesn't last long...

  8. I'm 3 days post op-- 19th-- first night was horrible! In will not lie.. I was up every hour on the hour with dry heaves and vomiting... Then I slept most all day... Don't remember much.. Then last night I woke with bright red, swollen, hot arms.. Chest and back.. Yup allergic reaction to one of my meds.. Not sure what one or if it was due to the Anastasia. Was seen my a house doc she gave me high dosage of Benadryl...my sleeve took longer than expected bc I had lots of scar tissue, it took him 2 hours to get through it all.. I ended up with a drain..( that was gross when they removed it)

All seems to be better now.. Then today (fri) I felt like a million dollars... Got to come home!

I'm home... Doing great!! Welcome to all those on this side of the sleeve and to those of you who are next in line... Take my advise: go slow... Listen to your docs and nurses, walk walk walk... And remember the hardest days are the fist few...

    Busybeingsleeved!!

  9. Today is the day for the 19th... I don't even leave my house for 3 hours and I'm up!! Can't sleep! So excited... And so hungry! I'm not goin to lie a steak would go down perfect right now...

I've been waiting for this day for so long.... So excited. My life will start a new journey today.... Best of luck...

May God, Budda, Mother Nature and all the Fairies Bless us all!!

  10. Don't forget your check list:

Pre surgery "biggest looser style photos" front and side

Post surgery: don't use straws.. You will get extra air in your stomach...

I have to wait two weeks to exercise again.. :( but want to swim/ Water walking soon after anyone told how long to wait before getting incision wet? (Private pool not public)

  11. Ok.., everybody settle down and take a deep breath.... All together... Ok...

Glad to hear those of you are done and doing well... Sorry to hear some of you are having post surgical sickness.... Remember this is not a race but a journey... All these things are temporary and will and so get better... I've been in contact with my post surgical friends from march and April.. They have all been here and say it gets better.. Just having to take it one day at a time...

To all my pre surgical peeps.. Deep breath: we can do this! For me Wednesday is the day my life will change forever... I'm ready for the change... It's been a long time coming...

To all the newest members of our group: WELCOME to the best decision you've ever made... Stay focused, stay positive...remember not all situations are the same.

Keep us posted for after progress...

  12. Looking for some advice here. I woke up yesterday with an insanely hurting wisdom tooth. Hurts to swallow' date=' can't open my mouth very wide, tooth kind of swollen. Having my surgery in 4 days. I WILL have this surgery. I'm concerned about this tooth though. Will this affect anything? I haven't been taking anything for it and I do have a dental appointment in a few weeks. This is making me nervous. Why does this have to happen now? Ugh :([/quote']

You need to been seen sooner than later you could have an impacted tooth or an infection... Super dangerous to have that for surgery... Infection in one area can put you at huge risk for other surgical infection. You need to call a dentist tomorrow... Or see if you can find an emergency dental office

  13. Thanks! I've lost 8 lbs in one week! I thinks that's awesome. Any recommendations on shakes you enjoy? I'm so sick of them!! I am drinking the EAS advantage ones. They are smooth and good. I'm the type of person that likes meat and not a sweet taste person. So it's hard for me. I think I'll enjoy the broths and Soups. At least I hope so!!

Bc with the EAS unless your drinking carb control they are high in carbs... Also they do not have the high amount if Protein we will need post surgery... I love the syntax nectar brands..

Bj baratrics cost 19.47. That includes shipping. U choose flavors u want. BJ BARIATRICS SUPPLY- nectar sample packs. Try flavored... Remember that post surgery sweets will be not appetizing... Also this is from a friend from who was sleeved in march::

One thing I wish someone had told me beforehand (not that it would have changed my mind, but I wish I had been prepared), is that I would no longer enjoy eating. Nothing tastes good to me, and I get disgusted with most things after a couple bites. My tastes have completely changed. I no longer like anything sweet, and tend to like things a lot spicier than I did before. I have mixed feelings on all of this. Sometimes I get a little down thinking that I may go through the rest of my life without ever enjoying food again. On the other hand, I am grateful, because I enjoyed food a little TOO much before. Ok, MUCH too much. I don't want to bring you down, I just wanted to make you aware because no one made me aware of this before surgery. Overall, I am VERY happy with everything, and would do it all over again.
