  1. I am struggling to choke down my Protein Shakes. Where do you find Unjury? What do you recommend to mix it with. I liked Premier Protein but am getting grossed out by it now.

Unjury was so unsavory I gave the Trial pack away. The best $200.00 investment you can make it to buy the Ninja. I start everyday with a Protein packed home-made shake full of fresh/frozen fruit, non-fat Greek yogurt, flax seed oil, vanilla whey, non fat milk and a few ounces of juice. Couldn't do without my Ninja blender. Worth every penny.

  2. Sleeved 2/27. Down 77lbs.

II set a goal for myself early on. I didn't think I went too aggressive. I weight myself regularly, but don't chart anything until after my Wednesday morning weigh-in. Wednesday just happened to be the day of the week I had my surgery.

The following is a simple Excel graph showing my target line (blue) vs actual weight (red).

    Love the graph, great job!

  3. Today marks the half way point in my weight loss journey. I should accomplish my goal by Christmas. Last week, my 12 year old son couldn't keep up with me while hiking. What seemed impossible almost five months ago is coming to fruition. Who would have thought! Talk about a new lease on life. I enjoy logging into this site

every Friday (after I weigh in) to read about everybody's journey. If misery loves company, so does success stories!

  4. 4 months today

Down a total of 62lbs, 45 post op, 17 in the 3 week pre op. Pretty happy with my lose. Need to get my butt in gear with working out and upping my Water.

    287 highest weight

    270 S/W 2/19/14

    225 C/W

Our weight loss experience is identical. My 4 month surgi-versary is tomorrow. As of

today, I too have lost 62 lbs. Now if I can get my *ss in gear, I need to exercise!

  5. Feel so left in the dust...everyone is loosing so much that was sleeved the same time as me..yet I am in stall at 47 pounds lost since being sleeved 2-27...

You are doing well! If you survey "most" people who were sleeved in February, the average weight loss (today) is between 40 and 60 lbs. You are right in there! Even those who have lost less than that will experience the same results in the end!

  6. Just got done at my 3 month check up...was actually more like 3mo & 12 day check up and my official weight loss is 58 lbs!

Amazing, I was sleeved on 2/22. Our weight loss (from the day of surgery) is almost

identical! I am down 57 lbs as of last Friday. My three month check-up (3 months and 2 weeks) is this Saturday. Please keep me posted!

  7. I saw the post where someone says that, but in following others' trackers and another thread that I started called Slow Losers Unite, I don't think the 50-lb statement holds true for everyone sleeved in Feb. I had my surgery in early Feb and I'm at about 38 pounds down, which is the fastest I have ever lost weight in my life (I am hypothyroid, to start). I feel we should try to only compare our loss to ourselves and not others, even though it's very difficult.

AZLatina - I didn't make a comparison, I made an observation. Everyone loses at a different speeds. Regardless of how much weight we lose, I'm sure we can all agree that the sleeve is the most successful thing all of us has done, regarding our battle with weight loss.

  8. I don't know if many of you realize this, but we are all making approximately the same progress. Most of us in this thread were sleeved the latter part of February and are approx 50 lbs lighter. It doesn't matter which week you lose the weight (What I call "stall panic"), as long as it keeps coming off!

  9. Yes that is very very common with eating too fast or with dense Proteins (meat) or rice/pasta. Feels like it is trying to push through the bottom of your throat!

Very true. The surgery and the subsequent diet teach us what to eat, but not how to eat. Like most if us, I have a very hectic lifestyle, and seldom have the opportunity to relax while eating. I guess I'll slow down when the discomfort gets to me!

  10. Wow, I was also sleeved on 2/26 last weigh in at surgeon's office I was down 23 pounds. Next appointment is Wednesday 24th. I had a stall at 3 weeks and since then am trying really hard to stay off scale. Week ago by my scale I was down another 4 pounds. I wish I was in your shoes and down 40 pounds. Keep up the good work.

I lost a total of 1 lb last week, which is the least amount I have lost since my surgery. I don't think a bad week or two constitutes a stall. From a dietary standpoint, I did nothing better or worse than the previous 8 weeks. I think its better to measure our weight loss on a monthly basis, not weekly. My belt tells me in getting smaller, so I'm not too concerned about the scale. I was losing an average of 4 lbs a week. This week brought my average down a half a pound. Not too concerned. Time to exercise!

  11. I was sleeved on the 21 and down 40. It's so nice to see that I am on track with others!

Ironically, our surgery date and weight loss is nearly identical. I was sleeved the day after you and have also lost exactly 40 lbs. Time for me to mix in some exercise. Your user name is Salsha and my real name is Sasha...hum.....:-)

    Keep in touch!

  12. First stall this week. Down exactly 40 lbs since being sleeved on 2/26. I refuse to weigh myself more than once a week. Not panicking yet. We'll see what next week brings. My clothes are fitting diffe even though the scale didn't move.

Great job. Our weight loss is running on the same schedule. I was sleeved on 2/22 and as of last Friday, I'm down a total of 39 lbs. Tomorrow is weigh-in day for me.

  13. I just want to say great job to everyone. Today i am feeling so depressed. The scale hasnt moved, its not been long but already i am worried. I need smaller clothes but am afraid to buy them. What if i gain the weight back and now my clothes dont fit again. I can hear my mother in the back of my mjnd telling me 8 weeks out and only 37 lbs, i told this wasnt going to do anything for u and next ur just gonna gain it back everyone does. I am waiting to fail just like always. I needed to vent these feelings cause getting rid of them helps and i hope by not being afraid to put it out there and ask if anyone else fears these things or for some helpful words, i cant get my heade straight and not sabatoge myself

8 weeks out and you've lost 37 lbs. That is great progress! If you are eating the right foods, and not over-eating you have nothing to worry about. The weight will not return. If you are not receiving the encouragement you need from friends or family, you are welcome to log into this forum and discuss your concerns.

    Keep up the great work!

  14. A special Thanks to all you for your input. I am still gathering results and will post my findings this weekend. For those of you who are discouraged, you have to remember that you are losing at a rate almost three times faster than you could put it on (pre-op). It is a "magical" surgery, but doesn't happen over night. Speaking for myself, I'll be lucky to hit my goal weight this year, but when I do, it's for good.

Please do not get discouraged if you are not ready to buy a new wardrobe a couple months after surgery. As far as I'm concerned, the sugery wipes the slate clean. From here, it's up to us to develop better eating habits, while incorporating exercise. Below is a short list of foods to avoid at all costs...if you are eating anything below, stop immeidately!

    "Death Foods"

Any cold drink served at your favorite coffee shop. These drinks are more lethal than cake, as the body doesn't have to metabolize liquid fat.

Anything carbonated. Yes, I know it sucks, but the carbonation can stretch your new stomach. Avoid anything with bubbles, including diet sodas.

    Anything fried

    Anything with refined sugar

"Diet" or "Low Cal" Desserts. Empty foods that contain high levels of salt and "lab rat" sugar

Fast food. Expensive, non nuttrional garbage.

    Suggestions:

Swiitch to diet or non-calorie ice tea in lieu of soft drinks. Lipton Diet Ice tea contains no sugar or calories and only has 2% salt.

Yougurt is filling and generally contains about 100 calories. A perfect snack.< /p>

Protein Shakes. I know, they suck....but if you buy a Bullet or a Ninja, you can make tasty drinks at home. I start every day with a home made shake.

Nuts. They contain "good fats"...eat a few as a snack. They are crunchy and fulfilling to eat.

Make sure to take a Multi Vitamin every day. I also take B12 for energy. It helps!
