  1. Hello, Has anyone tried the vitamin patch by Patchmd? I keep forgetting to take my vitamins and thinking switching to the patch. Thanks!
  2. Hi All, I recently just had my gastric sleeve converted to the gastric bypass. I was sleeved in April 2013 and began to suffer from severe acid reflux along with weekly vomiting. My surgeon suggested doing a conversion to the bypass that that would stop the acid reflux and vomiting. I had the revision surgery on 5/30 right now I'm still on puréed food. Has anyone else done a surgery conversion and what has been your experience? Thanks in advance!
  3. Hello, I'm interested in starting to take a Pre-Workout supplement. I've been in a bit of a slump lately. I barely started working out again after avoiding it for 2 months. Though the scale still says 153lbs my clothes are fitting much much tighter. I'm 10 months post surgery. Can anyone recommend a good pre workout drink for WLS patients? Thanks in advance for all your help! Noelle
  4. Can anyone recommend some Post op WLS books? I really want to get down to the emotional part of WLS and the truth behind long term success. I'm so afraid of gaining the weight back Thanks in advance!
  5. Hi All, I had surgery on 5/30. Though my incisions are healing nicely and my gas pains are gone. I'm still having some muscle pain on my right side close to my belly button. It feels like a muscle pain and it hurts when I laugh, or cough. I'm at the point where I need to hold pressure to the spot/ muscle to cough, or laugh, or even sit up. Could it be a possible hernia? Thanks in advance!
  6. Hi Paul, Funny I feel the same way. Almost like I didn't have surgery. I mean my incisions hurt and gas pains are bad. But my body is adapting to the bypass very well. No acid reflux or nausea and vomiting. I'm very good about getting my protein in and vitamins. I've lost 10lbs and am barely a week 11 days post op. How are you doing with the bypass?
  7. Hi everyone, I have a few concerns that I was hoping to get advice on. I had surgery on 4/12/13 and my day of surgery weight was 208. Currently I am 9 1/2 weeks post op and I'm 185. For a total weight loss 23 lbs. I'm in taking 75-90 grams of protein a day and roughly 1000 cals. im working out 5 days a week doing 40 mins of cardio each day. i even talk to the bariatric coordinator at the hospital where I got it done and she agreed I should be loosing much quicker. Help!! Thanks in Advance

  11. I was sleeved on 4/12 and I'm only down 10 lbs since surgery is there something wrong with me? I'm 28 years old 5'1" and day of surgery weight was 208. And down to 198 ...Should I be concerned that I'm not loosing more?
  12. To my understanding once you are refered to the program you are good to go. Yeah the surgeon usually wants the patient to loose 10%..which is 20lbs. For me I lost 8 lost pounds and the surgeon was okay with that.. How long is your program? From what I've heard every KP facility program is a bit different
  13. My starting BMI was 41..... I think most of my class has been referred for surgery, but a few we're asked to loose a bit more weight. The classes go buy so quick and before you know it you'll be sleeved
  14. I did my classes at the Baldwin Park facility but had my surgery at West LA. Yeah it happened so quick. Turns out they had a cancelation and got me in 3 days later
  15. Hi Ryanne, I finished the KP options program a month ago and am now almost 3 weeks post op. How far along in the classes are you? Which facility are you at?

  18. Hi everyone. I was just sleeved on 4/12 and im experiencing extreme pain and bloating. I'm continuously trying to walk but I'm still in pain. How long till the pressure goes away and how soon can I start drinking coffee? Thanks in advance for all your help
  19. Hi everyone. I'm required to loose 10-20 lbs prior to meeting with the surgeon. I'm suppose to have an appt and I'm so worried I won't be able to Loose weight and it will delay my surgery date. Any advice? Should I just do a detox a month or a few week prior just to make sure? Any advice will help. Thanks!
  20. For my insurance I'm not required to meet with a dietician :-/ I have to do 12 weeks of classes which are to prepare you for surgery and eating after surgery
  21. I heard when choosing a protein shake it must be Whey protein. Has anyone else heard that too?
  22. I'm scheduled to be having my sleeve done in June. Is their anything I can do now to prevent/or help with the excess skin? I heard getting full body massages after surgery can help. Does anyone know if that's true? Thanks in advance for your help
  23. Hi everyone. Has anyone see an impact on their social life? I'm 28 and single and I enjoy the nightlife a lot. I go out for drinks with my girlfriends at least once a week. I know post OP I shouldn't have a drink for at least 3 months. But has anyone noticed a negative impact?
  24. I just keep thinking how this is major surgery. I'm afraid I might regret having the surgery. I'm 28' 5'1" and 215. I've dropped significant weight and have gained it back so many times. My weight is constantly fluctuating. Do any low BMI-ers regret having the surgery? Or feel the pain and everything wasn't worth it? Or wish they lost it on their own instead? Thanks in advance for your help
