  1. Well I only told my husband... Clearly a mistake since I've gone from size 22 down to size 2. I need more people to tell me how to succeed at WLS
  2. I got tired of the "Cherry " flavor of the sublingual b12. I now do monthly b12 shots (got prescription from pcp & give them to myself). Easier & cheaper
  3. I'm 5.71/2. I have room in size 4 dresses and pants thus I suppose I know wear a size 2. I suppose it's vanity sizing. My measurements are. 36-29-36 and I weighed 143 lbs this morning. I still have some belly swelling after the panni surgery
  4. I guess I'll start and keep this thread to monitor this portion of the new me journey. My first question(s) relate to compression garment. Not getting a lot of help from My Dr office. They have me vendors but no help on what kind of garment I'm "only" getting the panni.... Do I need the whole panty like snap between the legs thing or will the abdominal binder be enough? I weigh 145 pounds, size small (4) clothes so in guessing to get size small binder as well??
  5. I don't get the. "No one knows except..." Then spout off 5 people. If 5 people know, it's no secret and you can bet 56+ people know and are whispering. My spouse knows because he is my next of kin if something happened while I was in hospital Not my parents Not my children Not my BFF Not one or other siblings Not my closest coworkers Not my friends who had WLS before Not my priest Not my neighbor Not my senile Aunt Susie
  6. I know I have to add more liquid calories because of the restriction I have. My workouts are currently 2-a days: MWF- weight lifting & swimming TThF- running & biking Sun- rest. I'm training for triathlon as well as obstacle course races. Today I crashed. I also didn't get enough sleep yesterday but that isn't the norm. Suggestions on eating enough calories?

Cant believe i just did this

You'll be surprised how small you can get. I started in size 22. Most of my clothes are size 4. I tried on size 2 yesterday at The Loft and it fit !! I still bought the 4 though, in case I gain a few pounds

    My sugar addiction

I was using nothing but stevia during weightloss. When I went into maintenance, I let sugar creep back into my life. I've not gained any weight but ughhhh I feel sluggish and crappy. And the thought of going through sugar withdrawals again is giving me a panic attack. Last time, It lasted 7-10 days. I had migraine and was moody among other things. But I need to do it
  10. I get rid of the aftertaste by mixing isopure with a few sprinkles of Real Lemon powder and sometimes add seltzer water. It's delish over crushed ice.
  11. Gotta be careful with isopure. They make a high carb/calorie version. I grabbed the wrong ones in error before. Read the bottles. Fortunately GNC has a easy return policy

    Red robin

RR is probably my favorite fast food. I usually get chicken tender salad with honey mustard
  14. Soon you'll have skinty girl problems. So normal sized that your size is the first out of stock. Enjoy the ride!!

    Fuel for running

I find that getting overly hydrated the night before helps. I carb load the night before as well. I drink only a protein drink an hour before. If I drink it too close to running or any kind if exercise I get sick. I take small sips of coconut water while running and try to eat a meal right after. There are athletic fuels made of gummy bears or there's always nuts (almonds or peanuts) to give ya a quick burst during the workout.

How long after surgery did you

I told my husband the same as I'll tell you. I had 85% of my stomach removed. Not my vagina. The vagina bone is not connected to the stomach bone. So relax and do it!!
  17. I skipped purée. I stayed on liquids during purée stage. My Dr OK'd it. I couldn't visually handle puréed food. The thought grossed me out. So liquids longer than to soft foods
  18. My husband, whom I kept my surgery plans a secret til well after my wheels were in motion, told me just yesterday how he was initially against both surgeries (VSG & Panniculectomy) mostly because he was scared of me having serious complications or worse... He was happy with me as a big girl however he is happier to see how happy I am with the new me. THAT, besides my own, is the only opinion that matters. Outside people AE gonna find SOMETHING to talk about. Underweight, overweight, your fashion style, your hair... Your skin. It keeps them from concentrating on their own shortcomings Unless your doing one of the big 3, (feeding, financing or f-cking).... You don't have a gnats chance in hell of me justifying anything to you. We all are going to die one day. Until my turn, I'm living my life on my terms. Folks are welcome to come along for the roller coaster ride or jump ship but if you try to bring negativity to my life, I'm pushing you off the proverbial cliff. For this reason, my inner circle is fist tight!
  19. I was told my face & neck look like Tales of the Crypt and that I needed to gain 30 pounds back. To hell with them. I'd rather look like it than be dead in a crypt. I got a panni. I'm done with plastics. And done giving a damn about who thinks they have a right to an opinion about my weight or my looks
  20. That tape is making a difference. Thanks to CBT again for the info. Today's NSV: I painted my toe nails!! When I was obese, I could reach then but my pannus made doing my own pedicures a chore. When I lost the weight, reaching my toes comfortably was difficult.. I could reach them but the pannus was in the way. Today I painted my toenails without lifting my stomach up. Without reaching around. I feel whole again
  21. I'm used to it. Even when I was obese I was a member of the IBTC. But thanks for the good word, I'll keep that in mind while shopping for push-up bras
  22. I have this new small body body and am having trouble finding cute summer dresses to buy. I wear size 4 in pants but need smaller in dresses. Went shopping only to find very limited supply of size 2 dresses. And the ones I found were low cut of v neck, not flattering for my A cup.

    No rants or raves allowed!

Re: syntax nectar. I also buy the sample variety packs. Mix with a few drops of liquid stevia or a tablespoon- ish of real lemon and also add seltzer Water. Over crushed ice. My favorite summertime drink.

I'm feeling ok. I think mostly because I had no muscle repair work done, only a panniculectomy Just a lil tugging/itching at some incision spots
