Aw, hope you feel better tomorrow, Banker.
-
Awesome. Will make sure my phone is fully charged so I can play Temple Run and browse these forums all day.

Way to go, Kimo!
-
I can see the hospital from my hotel room. Hope I get some sleep tonight, but I'm glued to the TV waiting for the Walking Dead.
-
Me too! It seems to be everything except the psych eval. Other than a breakfast and lunch break, I'm getting blood drawn, x-rays, EKG, possibly an upper GI, pulmonary and cardiac testing, a meeting with financial services, meeting with an exercise person, and two big sessions with a nutritionist, in a group and one on one, and I think there is a protein powder taste testing session, hehe, and possibly a tour. And then my final pre-op appointment with the surgeon is scheduled from 2-3.

Dr. Siddiqui was at the info seminar I went to - he was very cool and helpful.

Best of luck to those having surgery in the next few days!! We are all excited for you - keep us posted on how you're doing! Tomorrow is my pre-op testing day. I'll be at the hospital from 6am-3pm! This evening, I'm driving down to Dayton and spending the night in a hotel right down the road from the hospital. Luckily, it's not crappy weather, but I still feel better doing it this way instead of getting on I-75 at 4:00 in the morning tomorrow.

I live in Findlay, and Dr. Teel in Dayton is doing my surgery on Feb 26th! I wish it wasn't so long of a drive, because I'd love to attend the support meetings.

Well, that does it. I'm going to KanesMom's house for Valentine's supper. Save me a seat! -
Congrats! I am on the 26th too! Just a couple more weeks!!!

I Can't Wait To Not Have To...
firelle replied to BrickHouse's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, and I will be thrilled when I'm reviewed fairly at work! It's like fat people are just automatically assumed to be lazy slackers. I consistently do more work, and better quality work, than some of my thin and younger coworkers. Yet they always get better performance reviews, and I'm always told to take more initiative to do more things in the lab. Even when I test this and do EXACTLY the amount of work another analyst does, and take the exact same amount of down time, the boss always comes out and tells me to go do stuff. I'm so sick of trying so much harder than everyone else just to be thought of as barely as good as anyone else. -
I Can't Wait To Not Have To...
firelle replied to BrickHouse's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't wait to NOT have to ask for a table instead of a booth, and not have to feel like I'm dying just to put on socks and lace my shoes, and not worry incessantly about going to someplace where I will have to walk a lot. -
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

Did anyone have a catheter? I really, really don't want one of those. After my c-section, I had one in for almost 2 days. Just thinking about it is like nails on a chalkboard.
-
Congrats to both of you! It's such a great relief to hear that you're approved!

Hi Elaine! I haven't had my surgery yet, but I figure you'll be pretty tired for that first week after surgery. My main concern would be lifting your grandbabies, as I think you're not allowed to lift more than 10lbs for awhile. Also, you need to be able to get extra rest to heal. My daughter will be 3 on Tuesday, and when my husband's at work, my parents are going to watch her for the first week after my surgery.

Hope surgery went great, Douglas! Keep us updated! Is anyone back home from the hospital yet?
-
Best of luck to the FEB 6TH SLEEVERS!!!
-
Hoosiergirl and 4my2boys - its great to hear you both are doing well. Keep us updated! When do you think you'll go home? Do you feel any hunger?
-
4my2boys - You made it over to the losers' bench! Congratulations!!! Ejami, my surgery buddy How is your husband recovering? Does he feel back to normal yet?

Do any of you use the mobile app for this forum? I do on my Android phone, and whenever I try to look at threads in this group, it tells me I don't have permission to look at the threads, like I'm not a member of the group. Anyone else have this problem and know a workaround? The app is my only way to read the forums at work, and I have a very, very boring job.

WOW! What an insane day! Don't worry about the legs! No one will care one bit, hun! Just try your best to relax (haha) and prepare mentally tonight.
-
Well, at least I know it's not just me, heh. If I do figure it out, I'll be sure to post it.

My new BFF! The toaster oven!
firelle replied to JP69's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Haha, many years ago when my husband and I moved into our first rental house together, it didn't come with an oven, and we were broke and just starting out. We made do for many months with just a toaster oven, George Foreman grill, and microwave. And it worked! I'd kinda forgotten about the old toasty since then, but I bet it would be handy! Especially in the hotter weather. -
Hoping for a smooth and easy recovery for you guys. Try to get some sleep!
