It's to do with the surface tension of the plain Water. Adding a little cordial should help. I still have trouble with water nausea 4 years post op.

I KNOW removal of skin is plastic surgery but why didn't my surgeon from 15 YEARS AGO continue with my treatment and refer me to get the skin removed?
Don't answer if you don't know because it's wasting my time
Perhaps because you didn't ask him?
PS. I'd advise you to rein in the attitude. There's plenty of support here for polite posters.

Have you been eating beetroot?

My surgeon suggested bypass, but having done my own research I chose the sleeve. It's a joint decision between their medical expertise and your personal desire. You'll be living with the effects for the rest of your life, not them.

I haven't done any formal exercise in the last year. I will begin soon, to improve my general health and fitness, but it doesn't seem to have affected my weight loss.

Does it have Iron in it? That's likely to be the culprit. Taking Multivitamins and minerals on an empty stomach were the only things that made me vomit in my first year.

One slice of toast and marmite and I am pleasantly full. Not one more bite, though, or it is extremely uncomfortable!

I have been on 200mg daily of Zoloft for the past several years. They worked well for me, but since my sleeve I stopped taking them due to nausea issues. It's been a year and I may look at resuming them soon. It wasn't horrendous coming off them. Don't take them on an empty stomach!

What has your surgical team advised you?

I've just passed my one year anniversary and I'm still losing weight. Much slower, of course, but in a controlled fashion. I see no reason why this won't continue for as long as I choose.

Your sore throat may be from the intubation during surgery. Regarding drinking, try warm liquids rather than cold, and straight Water can be difficult after surgery. Take tiny sips frequently. Staying hydrated is a full time job at this point!
Congrats on your surgery, this really is the hardest part, so be kind to yourself x

Ditto, no difference to my IBS.

I slept on my side the first night after surgery. Lots of propping up pillows made me comfortable. Once home I slept leaning against the wall and with a body pillow. I cannot sleep on my back at all!

Thank you both. I feel better, but I have silly hair at the moment! This is a wonderful journey we're on ????

April 14th was three weeks ago, and you probably have had the infamous stall, so ... you've lost nearly a stone in two weeks. Way to go you! Onwards and downwards!

Could you be diabetic?

My Migraines intensified in severity and frequency post-op. From two a month to three a week. When one gave me total numbness down one arm and in my throat (very scary) I went to the doctor and got a prescription, which has helped somewhat. As low blood sugar is a trigger there's not a whole lot else I can do.
Sympathy to all fellow sufferers.

Why are you not eating fruits and vegetables?

Um...yeah, I'm 5'6, 172 lbs and my BMI is still in the obese range.
I believe your BMI is around 27, therefore overweight not obese.

From a medical point of view it's important to know you have a history of obesity, regardless of current weight. The diameter of your veins is larger, and you are more likely to have joint damage etc. Plus abdominal surgery can cause internal scarring adhesions etc.
