My doctor has told me that you need 60-80 grams of Protein per day if you don't that can cause hair loss, thinning hair. I find myself having to keep track so it doesn't. I have found this true. Hope that helps.
Also I was sleeved on 12/31 and have lossed 67.2 pounds I stared at 335lb. My goal is 235 by summer so I can go to Disneyland with my kids, fingers crossed.

Going out at lunch is the hardest because everyone is eating, I think about all of the fast-food choices out there. Will it get any easier?

The smell if bacon still gets me every time. Can't wait to get soft foods on the 22nd.

I have heard that your weight can fluctuate alot and the best thing to do is take measurements. I try to weigh my self once a month or when I am at the doctors. I try to stay positive as long as I am losing inches its a success.

You sound like you are doing well. You are lucky. When did u have your surgery? I tried a teaspoon of applesauce eventhough thats a no no for a year, that made my tummy very uncomfortable. I am trying to just eat the broth out of Soup my boys will eat. Worried to go too ahead of doctors orders. But I am a big chicken. Maybe there is hope for me. Keep doing great.

Before my surgery dinner consisted of drive thru or me making dinner. Now that I have had the surgery on December 31 suddenly its cookbooks. I go into the hospital and come out 2 days later and suddenly all food is cooked at home and all my favorites. I guess im frustrated because it smells good but I cant have any. I say can you warn me so I can go into another room. Just can't deal with the memories, weird but I do miss my comfort food. Does it ever get easier?

I just read online that some Vitamin shops have chewable protien supplements and or pills has anyone ever heard or tried these types of supplements?
-
I have tried at least 9 different types of Protein supplements I am 4 days post op and am struggling to find some protein supplement I can tolerate. Before surgery I was drinking premier chocolate shake tasted like Sugar Free Chocolate milk. Now it causes me to have dumping syndrome so now what. I just have to get enough protien in me until I can have pureed foods. Any advice as to a palatable protien supplement would be great.

4 days post op and I got the go ahead to cut my pain pill in half and swallow with Water. I had a prescription from before my surgery, was worried I would have to turn it into a suppository. But thankfully no.... so excited had no problem with it so I am free of crushed pills. I am allergic to ibuprofen, vicoden, and codeine so my options are very limited. Hope everyone else's day is going as well as mine, if not hang in there every day holds new potential.

I don't know if just sipping chicken top ramen broth is cheating. But I tried it so far no discomfort and it was soooo good. My 4 yr old only likes the noodles anyways. Now 50 min later tummy ok no side affects. I just could take broth in a box any longer. If anyone has suggestions that would be great thnx.

My doctor said nothing carbonated after surgery because it could cause complications. My nut said it can cause you to not feel as full as you should. I did try one sip of soda and hated it I didn't like the taste or the carbonation. It also hurt my stomach. Before surgery I loved coke zero and would drink a six pack per day. Tried the soda last week and I was sleeved on 12/31/12
