Not normal at all at that amount. That sounds more like she got an infection

Leaking from the incision near the belly button is possible while healing

Back to basics? Maybe try the 5 day pouch test, my surgeon has his own version for anyone at least a year out.
Your Protein needs don't change no matter how far out you are so aim for 80-100 grams. Like you said, you know what you're doing wrong, the hard part is getting yourself back on track

TMI but You'll also probably be going to the bathroom and having gas more and one of the side effects is that your bowel movements will smell worse

As far as my surgeons recommendations go, with the ds I was taking most things once a day except Calcium and now I'm doing the multi 3 times a day and calcium is still twice plus the extras. You also can't just stop at a store to get the ADEK, you'll have to order it so price wise ds has a much more expensive Vitamin regimen. Plus you'll need more Protein as well(about 20+ grams more a day)

DS is much more invasive and you have more malabsorption issues compared to the sleeve. Essentially it's like combining the sleeve with the bypass. I revised with a bmi of 45, lost 130 with the sleeve and regained 60 before choosing to go to the DS

I was sleeved 3 years ago and had my ds a couple months ago. Always struggled to find a Protein Shake I liked. Try the Premier Protein ready to drink, I add maxwell house latte mix to mine and it is delicious

Thank you, this was a great message. I guess I haven't felt all that motivated with, well, life. I'll be giving my therapist a call on Monday and we'll go from there. Thank you again, I can't wait to move to solid foods and start cooking for myself again.

Unlike when I had my sleeve done I haven't had that "what did I do to myself?" moment but I am starting to feel like this may have been pointless.
My boyfriend(who I live with) says he's supportive and has no problem telling me I can't have things but at the same time he wants me to cook for him or bring him dinner or sit by while he eats fast food. It kills me and I end up cheating because I can't resist. I know I have a food addiction and binge eating disorder so food can and has brought me to tears(both because of eating and because of restricting). Unless you suffer from this you really don't understand, its to the point where he's getting mad at me because he shouldn't have to change his eating just because I've had to. I don't know what to do anymore...
I can't have gone through all this only to fail...

I don't think I was really prepared mentally for everything. It was hard to break old habits.
This time around I know my mistakes and I'm in therapy to help with everything as well.

Hi all!
I had the sleeve done Jan 2013, lost 150lbs and then gained back around 60 of them. Talked to my surgeon and we agreed that my best option at this point would be to revise to the duodenal switch.
I AM super excited about having another second chance but I'm terrified aboutt failing again.
I also am more worried about recovery time because my boss if acting very reluctant to give me a lot of time off(I'll only have 9 months in so I'm not eligible for FMLA). I'm really hoping to only need two weeks off but I know I needed a lot more than that the first time around.
Any advise or stories about recovery? I just want to be optimistic while still being realistic.
Thanks!

Thank you everyone, just talked to my surgeons office and they said both the burning pain in the middle and the other pain in the side are very normal and no worries unless there is severe nausea, or a change in bowel movements
Oh and I got my gallbladder out at the same time as the vsg

When I was trying to lay in bed I got a searing pain right down the middle of my stomach(which is still sore) and now I've had pain in my left side all day(like a running cramp only a little worse). I am one week post op, has anyone else had these problems? What caused it?

I've noticed my sweat/body odor changed so much that I had to start using a men's deodorant because the women's wasn't working anymore
