  1. Been there too! I was still in the hospital when I broke down. The nurses told me they have never seen a patient NOT go through this feeling, very normal. It will pass! I promise!!!

    Surgery Date April 22'13

I remember the night after my surgery getting out of bed at 2 am and going for my stroll in the hospital and breaking down in tears because it hit me what I had just done and there was no going back. I thought I had lost my mind. The nurses kept telling me that it was a normal reaction to the surgery and almost everyone cries within a day afterwards because they are in shock they actually went through it. It's a big deal having 80% of your stomach removed but you know what? I don't feel like I ever had any surgery at all and my insides feel completely normal. Occasionally a couple of good hardy burps that I never had before after I eat but otherwise completely normal. Good luck! You are not alone in this journey!!!

    Surgery Date April 22'13

I was very nervous about this surgery and constantly second guessing my decision but now that I'm 2 months post op and 50 lbs lighter and fitting into size 16 jeans and feeling amazing I thank God I did this. The good definitely outweighs the difficult time and it wasn't that bad to begin with. Now that my life is settling down and I get the hang of this lifestyle, it's just so easy for me. You will not regret this decision!

    New here..

Dr Szomstein is also nice on the eyes too! Venezualan! Yummy! Bonus!! And I heard good things on your doc too. You will be in great hands! My insurance would only cover a "Center of Excellence" so I was limited on my choices but I am so happy I went where I did!! I actually live near Ft Myers on the west coast so I had to drive two hours but it was well worth it! Good Luck honey!!!

    24 hours after surgery

It does get better! I promise!!! Once you get home and back into your own bed you will feel so much better. I'm two months post op and couldn't be happier. I just left my doctors office for my post op visit and told them I don't feel like I have ever had surgery except that I feel and look so much better. Hang in there!!!!

    cravings and PMS?

"Graze" on high protein stuff!! Ham and cheese rolled up, cheese sticks, Greek yogurt, or sugar free Popsicles or lemon ice. Sometimes just a spoonful of peanut butter helps me too but watch the calories! Are you at the stage for fruits and veggies?? I have even nibbled on rice cakes and did fine.

  17. I like the Premiere chocolate protein shakes. It's 30 gram of protein and only 1 gram sugar. And it's yummy!!! It's only sold at Costco and I think Sams club. Does anyone else know where to buy it?

    My story

I had a 3 week stall at 3 weeks post sleeve and then list for two weeks then another 2 week stall. I know it's a normal process of the body readjusting so keep doing what you are doing and walk walk walk drink your water and don't worry!! I hate stalls too but I have to be patient!!!

  25. Oh my!! I'm sorry you are going through that all. I have not had any of theses problems and I'm getting skinnier. Matter of fact on the contrary. Sex is so much better now that I'm skinnier. Food is appreciated more. I can eat just about anything and not have any problems. As far as drinks.... Sure no beer but I bring my Chrystal light and ask for a tall glass of vodka, water and line and add my CL to that and I'm good for the night!! I get chicken wings (non breaded of course) and nibble on those although I haven't been able to eat more than three but I take the rest home. I haven't lost hair but I use Bosley products and take my biotin to prevent that. It's about being proactive and staying super positive. That's the key to success!!!! Best wishes to you!! Keep your head held high and smile!!! You will get through this!!!!
