Whoop! Whoop! You Go Girl!!!!!!! You're gorgeous!!! I know you have to be loving life!! I'm 4 days post op! Can't wait till I'm in onederland too!!
  2. I agree they do whatever they can to make you comfy. I'm a nurse as well so I know the love we have for our patients. However, hospitals are notorious for not having very comfy pillows or enough of them. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have gone searching for pillows for my patients. And in most cases they need two or three to make them comfortable. So to be on the safe side I brought my own pillow and SO glad I did. Was kinda like my "security blanket" or "teddy bear" from home. And as for earplugs and night mask...if it wasn't for those I would have never been able to sleep soundly. My Morphine pump made me nauseous so I didn't have the luxury of medicinal sleeping. Oh well! The nurses and CNA's couldn't have been nicer and my experience was overall a very positive one.

The gas gets into your GI tract when they open your stomach first to remove the portion they are cutting out before stapling

I'm the same way except I never vomited although the morphine did make me nauseated. Once I stopped that I felt better. I'm drinking my first protein shake at home now but it's taking a long time to get it down. Just a lot of burping. Gosh my bed sure feels good!!!

I'm heading home from hospital now. Since we had a two hour drive we stopped half way to walk a bit. Don't want any complications with clots or gas. :-). Can't wait to sleep in my own bed!!!!
  13. Hi, I am asked this question do much by my friends and family. Is there anyone on this forum that has had their sleeve very long? If not are you aware of any long term studies? I know this has not been done very long in the U.S. but what about in other parts of the world? I'm just curious on the long term effects and what is my life going to be like 10-20 years from now? Thanks!

Yes they told me everything. If you don't want something tell them not to give it to you and doc can order something in its place.

They gave me Lortab (liquid vicodan). It works just fine. Oh I did use the pump the first 24 hours and they loaded me up with reglan and zofran for nausea but I felt better off the pump after the first 24 hours. I had no problems with pain control.
