  1. 3 weeks out is still the healing phase, too soon for a fill just yet. You mught want to back off the solid foods if you are continuing to have pain issues, or PBs.
  2. You are still recoveringfrom surgery. While you probably don't have the drugs in your system, your body still needs to heal. I'd try boosting your protein. Keep us posted.
  3. uhm, when I'm at school, I just go home and have lunch. But during this internship, I've been buying a lunch every other day, and eating left-overs. But I seem to be able to eat everything, even after my fill. Congrats on the new job!
  4. I didn't do the supervised diet, although he wanted me on one. Because I was on steroids, I actually gained weight before surgery. Dr. Watkins just patted my hand and said not to worry.
  5. Hi NRS1, Yup, you are exactly right on schedule. Many people find that while they are one liquids they loose weight quite rapidly, but once they start solid foods, many gain a few pounds. You experienced your first "stuck" feeling and your very first productive burp, a.k.a. PB. I've had one fill, and before I had my fill I could eat everything I wanted including cheeseburgers and pizza. Now I've had my fill, and I still don't have any trouble eating anything, but I am satified much sooner.
  6. not funny, but I had several bits on my lips. I looked like I'd gotten colegen shots.
  7. Thanks everyone. I'm down to 3 percacets today, and just one phenegren. This really sucks, but today I felt pretty cranky, so I must be getting better on some level. Unfortunately, the person who schedules girl surgery can't even talk to me until she gets back on Friday. The nerve of her having a personal emergency! And it doesn't help that my PCP is on vacation all week.
  8. I've been really very much under the weather with girl issues lately. (let's just say massive amount of percacet and phenagren are involved...) I'll be ckecking in, but my posts probably won't make much sence. I'll welcome each and every new person to Bandlandia in quiet, and offer my prayers of both joy and condolences... Work will be interesting enough trying to string together coherent sentences ...
  9. Man Heather, that suck big time. So sorry to hear about that.
  10. My poor old dog has good days and bad days. He's been having better days since I wrote my lament. I just can't stand the thought of anyone or anything suffering.
  11. Welcome to Bandlandia!
  12. Actually, be careful with neosporin ointment. Lots of people are allergic to it, and don't figure it out until it is almost too late. I've also heard reports that it will disolve the glue used to glue us back together. You don't need any antibiotic ointments unless you have an active infection.
  13. I frequently get meds slightly suck.
  14. I'll have to find mine and post it...
  15. Welcome to the Banded Gentry!!
  16. It's been a couple of days, how are you feeling? I know that for me, the first few days are always the most difficult.
  17. Desertmom, that's one of the great things about the band, it helps provide the dicipline! I'm not sure if I'm reading your post right. You are having a difficult time knowing WHAT to eat in addition to WHEN to stop eating? Sorry if I don't make any sence, but I'm sort of loopy these days. If you are having a difficult time knowing WHEN to stop, then I think the suggestions of setting the timer for 20 miniutes is a good idea and might work well for you. As soon as the little timer goes DING! You stop eating. I also like Mike's suggestion about the napkin. That might work well for you too. As for WHAT to eat... Well, get your hard Proteins in first. then your veggies, then your carbs. If you are still hungery, then have more vegies. The serving size that Jessie suggests to use is a tuna can size for your food. If you are having menu planning issues, that is something else. I know that we've had several threads on menus and meal planning. Perhaps if you don't see anything that works there for you, you could start a new thread?
  18. While I'm in exhile 9 months out of the year, my band drs are about 750 miles away
  19. I don't know what boars head turkey is, but if you can have chicken salad, then turkey should be a-ok.
  20. Since we are not dieting, YOU CANNOT CHEAT! It is a completely different mind set. You don't have to deprive yourself of anything. There is no "being good" or "being bad." There is only "making better food choices overall" and "smaller portions."

Here I was thinking you had sushi made from Pollock, which is a type of cod. Now, I love sashimi, but I don't think Pollock sashimi would be very yummy....
  22. acid foods are recommended to be avoided for a while after banding. Spicy foods, as well as acidic foods cause lots of churn, which is to be avoided during the healing stages. Cheers!
  23. But a related question, are/were your parents MO? Both my parents were/are MO, my dad's sisters are MO, and two of my mother's aunts were MO. My ex-husband's mother was MO... but I never met any of his sibs.
  24. as above, but yes, there are times when you simply must let go of a friend. Like Jack said, some people just drain the very life energy out of you. Not easy to say good-bye, but sometimes this is what we need to do to take care of ourselves.
