  1. I dunno, since I didn't see the show. It is well worth the read.
  2. I used to make yohurt when I was in high school, 8 million years ago. My mom had an electric yohurt maker, and as I recall, it was easy-peasy. So... do jalipeno poppers count as dairy or veg?
  3. I'll be having the ablation http://www.gynalternatives.com/ablation.htm procedure. If the ablation doesn't work, then it would be likely the cauterization, then the big H.
  4. okay, as soon as I'm done dealing with this piece of stuck chicken, I'll see if I can dig up the thread we had on this when the article first came out
  5. Hey Vera, when I read your post the first thing that popped into my head was ' what are you doing living in my body?!" I'm not elegible for the IUD, since my uterus has two chambers. (both viable) I'm going with the electocution thing next month, but my doctor has scheduled "another procedure" at the same time. I tried to make my doc understand that if you are bleedeing everyday for months on end, how the hell do you know where one cycle starts if the other one hasn't ended? My sister and sister-in-law are pushing the H on me, but I'm a basket case.
  6. You could always say something like "look, you RNY folks are experts on your WLS, but you don't have a clue about the band because you don't have one. You are experts on the explosive diahrea politely called "dumping." You are experts on the issue around malnutrishion, not me. You don't have a band, so you can not speak to it or it's issues. I DO have a band, and I am an expert on chewing, making good food choices, and perhaps even the mighty PB."
  7. Well, I just ckecked, and all I can say Kelly, is that you couldn't pay me to be 30 again. It only gets better from here.
  8. okay, banded March 14. Had my first fill 2 weeks ago, and my first unfill 2 weeks ago. (I'm at 1cc) The scale hasn't moved for weeks, but inches are going. My tape measure is packed in ID, so I'll need to buy a new one for home. I've got serious "girl stuff" going on, so I'm not stressing about the scale. Still down 25 pounds. And being down 25 pounds is a hellava lot better than not being down 25 pounds
  9. So. Time to take Kathy to the woodshed for a metaphysical attitude adjustment. Why is it that your husband is more deserving of the $60 for a transient afternoon of gold, but you are not deserving of the $60 spent on yourself? (and from the sounds of it, your husband got more fun out of the jeans than he would have and afternoon of golf... ) Sure, you could have spent less on another pair, but would they have looked as good on you? (okay, I have to fess up, this is something definately is one of my devils. I can't spend money on me, I'd rather save it than spend on me. Part of it is a feeling of not deserving.) ((stupid wolves))
  10. beams of white light for protection, streams of healing blue light and a quick prayer to the goddess
  11. May the cities in your wake burn like candles on your cake!
  12. The motion has been seconded and the has moved to the floor for a vote. all in favor? AYE! See? that settles it. It's official, so now you HAVE to post a bigger pix. Sorry Lisa, rules are rules. And Robert's Rules of Order dont' get any more official...
  13. Don't stop the advair. Drink more water, eat that bananna and have some milk. It's likely a combination of needing all of the above.

Today I wore a pair of jeans I haven't been able to fit into since 2002. Today I walked 15 minutes to and from the restaurant for lunch, and I wasn't winded, and I didn't need my inhailer. Today I took a walk with my son and he had to tell me to slow down (of course the silly boy wasn't wearing any shoes...) Today I went grocery shopping after work, and then DID NOT collaps on the sofa all night.
  15. Thermacare heat wraps are a gift from the goddess. Be careful with them, you might burn your tummy. I wear the wraps generally on the outside of my panties and sometimes they still get too hot, but you know what? When I use these I usually don't need any other pain killer. None. It's Thermacare wraps for me, or hydrocodone because I have really bad cramps. If you have to take the pills, make sure you drink a big glass of Water with it to wash it out of your pouch.
  16. I was banded in March, and initially lost 25 pounds really quickly, but I don't think I've lost much since then. But you know what? I'm okay with it. This isn't a race. I recnetly got my first fill, and it has made a lot of difference in how I feel. Before I got my band, I don't think I would have been able to do any of those things. The scale lies. And as for your food. Well, every day is a new day. Tomorrow morning, eat your solid protein first (or after your coffee, which ever works better for you... ) At lunch have a good bandster meal with your hard protein first, your veg next. Drink your 64 oz of water have a good banster dinner. Be kind to yourself. Most importantly, be kind to yourself.
  17. Jack's answer was quite concise. I'm off percacets
  18. different people have different standards, but I dont' call them rules. Some people stop drinking 30 minutes, some don't. Different of philosophies. I drink water right up until I pick up my spoon or fork. However, the longer you can keep from drinking after you eat the better. I try to wait about 90 minutes after eating to keep my pouch full longer. I am not always successful, but that is what I try to do.
  19. yup, sounds like depression to me too. Please don't wait to deal with this. I knwo the visious cycle of depression. We don't want you in the downward spiral!
  20. but Zoe, you are ancient, 'cuz, like, you are at least 4 years older than me. Kathy was just having one of her "speical" moments.
  21. I love wearing jeans, and not so much business clothes. I haven't been asked the dreaded pregger question in a long time, knock on wood... Of course, even when I was preggers I didn't look it for the most part. Heh, I was trying to navagate my pregnant self accross a crowded coffee shop and tried to get around some older crusty guy. I excused myself and asked if I could get by. He laughed at his cronies and said, "what, are you pregnant or something?" I BURST into tears and said yes, I was. Heh, he felt like the jerk he was.
  22. Oh my gawd Kathy, I was laughing so hard I was snorting! I would have posted sooner my appology, Gaynor, but I was a little embarrased that I'd assumed you were a guy.
  23. I think I met a male Gaynor in my younger days... although I probably made that up. You know, for the life of me, I can't figure out why Kathy and I both thought you were a guy. Probably because your screen name is "G Curtis" and Curtis is not an uncomon guy name. Sorry about that.
  24. Today was my first day in a week and a half without any narcotics. Hurrah for me. I can't tell you wants wrong because the Dr.s haven't figured it out. Personally, I think I have just experienced the wonder of a ruptured ovarian cyst. Not one of the 4 different Drs have called it that. They said "unspeicified pelvic pain with unusual bleeding." I've had a "significant" cyst for more than 3 months. Then suddenly, I don't have the cyst, but so much pain I'm puking all over. So much pain that IV pain meds in the ER just take the edge off the pain. But you know what, if it walks like a duck.. Anyway, they don't knwo what's wrong with me. They have scheduled surgery for the end of next month. My sister and sister-in-law are pushing me to have the big H, but I would need so much counceling for that. I figure that if I don't have my girl parts I wouldn't be a girl any more.
