And here I was, worried that I'd never have any NSV when I started this journey... Today, I needed a belt! Now, I'm not in any real danger of pulling a Jonathan in the grocery store, but my pants are uncomfortablly loose. I didn't even think that was possible! So, I dug out an old belt that I haven't been able to wear and it fit! 1 notch down, 13 more to go!
  2. holy vanishing woman batman! I think Darcey's right, they probably don't know what to say. They are probably in shock. That is a huge difference! I was raised by wolves, I don't think they will ever notice. Except my deer sweet Gandma. Every single time she sees me she asks me if I've lost weight, even when I've gained it.
  3. No, no, not my sweet old dog. I read that and my heart took a leap. He's just getting older and lumpier. Last week I started to add Senior Formual dog gravey to his food, plus I started him on the Breeder's Choice brand Active Join Treats. I give him 3 extra Cookies a day and it's really seems to have made a big difference! He's much more mobile and actaully wanted to play with his squeeky baby. Christina, I'm still crying for Gunner, and for you.
  4. I dunno Jonathan, sounds like a cop-out to me.... (WINK) I mean, you're doing exotic dancing in Walmart....
  5. Actually, I have reclaimed food-time in a different way. I find I am so much more mindful of time I spend on food. Before I was banded, food wasn't something that I frequently thought about, I was more like a shark--an eating machine. I didn't eat my food so much as inhale it, A big food-hoover (insert sucking sound). Because I have to be mindfull of what I eat, I spend more time perpareing it. I spend more time eating it, because I have to chew. Oh gawd, I've gotta chew otherwise well, it isn't pretty and you know what I'm talking about.
  6. The quote I used was "Dogs have owners, cats have staff" -- Unknown.
  7. I'm in. If I can find it. I've got a tank-ini so it shows of my sexy-sexy belly
  8. I would suggest calling your doc. Different docs have different "normals." Your milage may vary.
  9. 50 pound in 5 months? that averages to 2.3 pounds a week. Slow? Baby, That's right on track. I'm down 25 in 3 months.
  10. I gained weight on depro provra AND got stupid. I hate to take anything that will dull my wits. I'm not that sharp to begin with! Hated, hated, hated depro.
  11. Chris, I think the moral is to avoid eating and driving. Well, obviously, the moral is to avoid PBing...
  12. Not sure where I should post this... DH is taking me to see "The Man With the Screaming Brain" Monday! WOOT!!!! It is Bruce Campbell's latest, AND HE'S GOING TO BE THERE FOR A Q&A! I'm gonna get my Ash action figure autographed!
  13. My soon to be sisters-in-law were absoulutely terrified that a Water fight was going to break out at my wedding. You see, at my neice's wedding, that is exactly what we did. had a giant water fight. 'Cause I suppose that is the sort of people we are. I don't think my sisters-in-law have ever had a water fight in their entire lives. More the pitty. We had about 250 people at our wedding. We had our cerimony at my in-law's rec center just south of Seattle, in Normandy Park. It was a beautiful late August day. I'm firmly convinced that August is our reward for the rest of the year. It's always just the most beautiful month here... The limo was a vintage Bently. My dress was a cream Renaissance inspired dress, and DH and Spudboy were both wearing tail coats. Our groomsmen (I think we had 8 of them) wore traditional tuxes, but my ladies were all in Renaissance dresses. Thier colors were from a pale pink to a deep burgundy, depending on their color. (I bought their dresses...) DH had arranged a harpist. .... A small stream demarked the area where the cerimony was from our guests. After DH and I exchanged our vows, DH and Spud exchanged their vows to be dad and boy. The three of us lit the Unity Candle. To greet our guests we met them at the bridge. the reception was in the rec hall, with a big buffet of cold-cuts and cheeses and stuff like that. All the left-overs went to the one of the local soup-kitchens. (We sort of doubled our food budget so that there would be plenty of extra.) the next week we went to another wedding, and all anyone could talk about was my wedding. I was soo embarrased for the other woman. ... My dad had died a little more than a month before my wedding, after a long bout with cancer. My younger sister thought I should cancel the wedding, and didn't speak to me for years because I didn't cancel. My dad would have had a gi-normous fit if we'd canceled and lost our deposit money. He was funny that way!
  14. Paula, honey. Get a nice blank book for each one of your kids. Write all the cute stuff in that book, and viola! no worries about forgetting. Or mixing them up.
  15. When Spudboy was about 10, we were driving home from our tae kwon do lesson. In a very tiny and quite voice he askes if I know any ... geeks. I start laughing, and say yes, there two geeks in the car right now. He protests. "You're not a geek-mom, you're a fun mom." I asure him that I'm about as geeky as women get. We drive is silence for a while. Then he asks me if I know any other geeks. I start laughing. At the time, I was working at Microsoft, in a locked lab testing 3rd party network software. (see, told you.) As part of my contract there, I made them set up a workstation dedicated to Spud with all the MS games installed so when I had to work on the weekends I could just bring him with me. More silence. "Mom, is George a geek?" At this point I had to pull the car over because I was laughing so hard. George is THE geekiest guy I know. You see George in the grocery story and you just KNOW he's a geek. Then Spud proceeds to name off the 3 geekiest of geek-boys I worked with, wanting to know if they were geeks too. I had to explain to him that EVERYONE I worked with was a major geek. Turns out, some kid at the bus stop had been calling him a geek, but he didn't know what it was, and just knew it had to be something bad. George took Spud under his wing and helped him understand and accept his geekhood. I'll always have a very soft spot in my heart for George.
  16. okay, Let's add a twist to the pix part. I say we wear the same outfit in the before and after so that we can get a realistic portate of the weight loss.
  17. See, this is exactly why I don't try to give advice to RNY folks. I know NOTHING about it. So... in otherwords, Giveyouthemoon, they were saying you didn't have the guts? Heh heh heh, who doesn't have the guts now vomit-boy??
  18. I'm in, but with my luck, I'll not have any weight lost, but I'll have at least 10 NSVs...
  19. Howzabout Katiedid and the Crickets?
  20. Doh! I didn't even make the connection! My silicone friend doesn't have a name, but I have noticed that I feel soothed when I rub it.
  21. Lately? hmmm, "of course you like to play The Sims, it's a doll house, and you're a girl." It hadn't even occured to me, but he's right, It is a doll house! From when he was little? hmmm, he'd just seen his first peacock at age 3 and burst out laughing and laughing. I asked what was so funny. "the goofy bird thinks it's a butterfly!"

years of being told I was fat and ugly, I suspect. I have a very bad self picture. I see photos of myself can can't believe it is me because the pix doesn't match what I see in the mirror. My older sister thinks it is because the camera doesn't capture "me." Maybe because I'm reminded that I have one of those downward mouths? I dunno. "fat and ugly."
  23. DH has, but I've never BPd
