For those of you that are experiencing stalls' date=' please list your starting weight and when you experienced your stall. I have a sneaky suspicion on what causes these stalls, but need a little input before I spout off.I'll go first - I was sleeved on 2/22 and have not experienced a stall yet (keeping fingers crossed). My starting weight was 335. I am not 298. If you are uncomfortable listing your weight, your BMI will also work.[/quote']
I was sleeved 2/28 stall started @the 3 week mark. My hw was 326 surgery weight was 320 current weight is 302.

I was getting frustrated as well. Surgery date was 2/28, the 1st 2 weeks I lost about 18 lbs but the scale keeps jumping back and forth. Grrr.
Last night I was looking for clothes for work and decided to fit some clothes, clothes I haven't worn in a year. Either they were to small or I looked like a pregnant pig. All the clothes fit, with some room to spare, not much but room. Some couldn't button; some the button were being strAngled.
This makes me feel okay about the stall. I can stall as long as I see results.

I ate corn flakes and it felt like lead in my stomach. I won't eat it again.
-
You look great. I hope I have good results. Thanks for sharing what you have done.

5 weeks out... I ate an entire pack of weight control oatmeal for breakfast' date=' still currently hungry. I seriously feel like I wasted my money. My stomach apparently was ginormous because I'm still always hungry. Some freakin bull. I'm so frustrated. And height has nothing to do with it cos I'm short as ****.[/quote']I am also always hungry. I do feel restrictions but I get hungry after an hour or so.
-
Yes because your stomach is so small.
I'm wondering how GERD would affect weight loss?
-
GERD might be a concern.I started out at 308 and now am maintaining around 156 or so. I think your goal is possible' date=' but will take work![/quote']
Why might GERD be a concern?
Since I had surgery I have the worst GERD?

I'm still about 3 months pre-op' date=' but I've been researching for over a year. I've pretty much wrapped my head around the diet (pre and post op), the technicalities of the surgery, and how huge of a change this will be. After reading around here I have a few questions.. (I did search some of my questions but didn't get anything really)1. Is it comparable to a csection (pain wise)?I've had 2.
I think its easier than the csection. I had one and it was major pain.
2. Does everyone have to swallow that stuff for the leak test? I heard it was beyond disgusting
When I did it it was only 2 oz. I did 1 oz then I followed with the 2nd. I was so excited they showed me the video, took away from the taste.
3. Do nausea meds really work? I have a serious phobia of vomit (so bad, that I've had to call my mom to come over and clean my son's vomit because my husband was working). This is causing me SO much anxiety. I have a very high tolerance for incision pain, but NOT nausea. It will actually throw me into a panic attack if I think I might throw up.
Zofran helped by the tigan was what really helped me
Please give me your experiences or advice!! Thanks
Edit: and If anyone has similar stats as me I'd like to hear your experience too!! I'm 5'3" 280lbs.[/quote']

I had my sleeve the same day as you' date=' It's great that you're doing so well! I am also doing well, but had some confusion on the diet in weeks 3. But, I have only lost 10 lbs in these first two weeks. Do you feel like that's not enough?[/quote']
I think you're doing fine. The scale hasn't moved in a week but I don't worry I know it will soon. I know going in the gym will make it move.
-
Made it to the gym..yay! Thanks ladies, my next 10lbs gets a Pandora charm.
-
Try going regularly for a week. Start really light (30mins/day) and increase the next week just to see what kind of results you see. You may be surprised - not only that you could look at it as a social outing. I have a gym that is open 24 hours which is fabulous for me because I'm a 'bashful'' date=' 'shy', 'don't like people looking/noticing me' type of person - although I have about 4ish more weeks to get cleared to do any kind of strenuous activity besides light walking. You might be better motivated if you have a friend that goes along with you. Also, stress! Working out is an amazing stress reliever and you may meet a ton of people there. The way I always look at it is no matter how slow I go, I'm still going faster than everyone sitting on the couch. This kind of helps with my self esteem because I feel like I am trying and succeeding to do something about my problem. However, I don't particularly like this saying because not everyone who is overweight is 'lazy'. A lot of people have predisposing factors such as health issues, genetics that play a role in the shape of their body. Just remember - take things day by day, and each day that passes you are one step closer to not only your goal, but feeling better about yourself. Also, one more suggestion - if you like sports maybe you can join a local league for charity like for example - I played softball for 13 years before I even got over weight and then I quit and regret it and CANNOT wait to start playing again & for a good, local cause! Maybe you can look into something like that first, instead of the gym and then you can think of it as a social outing not necessarily the 'gym' because at this time that word sounds dreadful to me lol! Good luck! Hope this helps! You can do it! & that is a great weight loss! Be proud of yourself & your accomplishments![/quote']Thanks great advice. Im going to start Monday. Im also going to put it in my planner n block out my me time.

I need some motivation I saw the Dr for my follow up. I lost 18 lbs post op which is good. He said I need to exercise regularly. He said the first 6 months are when I will drop the most weight n exercise will enhance the weight loss.
I need motivation to go the gym. Shame is I live behind my gym and can walk there. I want to go for 30days before I start seeing my trainer (who is very kind and very sexy).

Anyone having gas/ burping problems? I keep walking which feels the best but it feels like here's always gas to be passed/burped.
I burp with everything I drink. Tea, Soup, applesauce
-
I was sleeved 2/28. broth, hot m sour broth, and tea go down easily. Everything else else goes down with great pain. I sip but it doesn' t help. I just have to stop eating. I am getting about 240 calories or less daily (according to fitness pal), and I feel fine. Today I ate 1oz of pudding and 1 oz of Jello and the came back up. I didn't vomit they just came up.
I wonder what will happen in the neext stage.
I went back to work today and my incisions are sore
-
I was sleeved 4days ago i am still in pain and already sick of Soups. when i swallow i can feel the pain and i am purping alot what can i do to help this. I dont know if it is pain or hunger. At this moment i wish i never did this. HelppppppIm having the same issue, pain when I swallow. I use hot tea to relieve it. 2oz helps a lot. I burp a lot, but it helps with the other issue. Protein and Jello feel like lead in my stomach. Discovered pudding is way to heavy.

2 i can fit some of my old clothes and they look good with out spanks
3- I know longer look 6 months pregnant.
4 Someone not in my home (and not being paid by me) noticed my weight (in my case inches) loss.
On the cons side, i am losing my boobs, i am wearing a smaller bra size, watch out victorias secret, here i come. Do they make bras where one boob is consideravbly bigger than the other, LOL
