  1. I am nearly 2 years post op and I am at a holt with my weight loss. I have 18lbs to go and Its been the same for the past 4 months. I can't lose weight at all no matter what I do or try. I have a lot of extra skin that could be the problem but I still have body fat that has to go. Veteran sleevers help me out what can I do. I can use all the help and advice I can get. On top of all that my boyfriends mom said that I am getting fat. Mind you no one knows I had this procedure not even my boyfriend and for her to say I am getting fat has caused me extreme depression. I starting to feel like the old me before surgery; depressed, down. hating my body and wanting to eating everything I see since she sad that, PLEASE HELP ME!!!

  2. This is only the beginning of your jouirney. You will learn to love your stomach after you have your surgery. Its not a easy journey but it is one that well worth the process that you will have to go through. Personally I was only required to do a liquid diet 24 hours prior to surgery. But I was required to stop drink soft drinks and increase my Water in take. I was told to stop the fried foods but was able to have anything baked. What all are you allowed to eat at this point? besides veggies and fruit?

  3. I will be 2 years post op January 14th. I have no regrets. This was the best decision I ever made. It has changed my life drastically. The process gets better as time goes on. You learn to eat to live instead of living to eat. As your body change you will begin to appreciate going through the process even more. Good luck on your journey and let the people her on this site be your support and go to when you have questions.

  4. Thanks for your encouragement everyone I truly need. Its hard when you feel like you are in this thing alone and the person who once had your back turns on you when you need their encouragement most. I glad I can come here and get support from you guys. I recently moved to Texas with because his job transferred him here but I thinking I should move back to Louisiana where my family is for that up close support I desperately need.

  5. I am sorry he does not understand. Is it possible to take him with you to a dr. or nutritionist appt. My husband was against the surgery until our family doctor spoke to him about how I needed it.

Change is hard for others. Keep up your good work and once you are at goal, hopefully it will be easier.

He has gone and been there and he just does not understand the process and he been so negative lately making me feel horrible because I do not eat certain things anymore. He says he rather see me over eat because I am malnourished and by body eating itself. It is hard.

  6. I been excited about my surgery ever since I decided to do but its been hard because the support I once had is gone. My husband tells me everday I need to eat more and that I malnourished. That my nutritionist and surgeon are trying to kill me and I will die if I dont eat more. But we all know with thos surgery you cant eat more that was the point of having the surgery. I started at 299lbs I down to 198 lbs. my surgery was in January my husband says I don't need to be at the gym because I don't eat enough to workout. He constantly hollers and fuss saying I need to eat more eat moreand you need to go back to your old eating habits. I cant deal with the negativity from him this journey is hard enough.

  7. I never knew how much I loved my scale until it broke on me. Its been 2 week with out a scale its almost impossible to get to the store to get a new one between working 2 jobs and school. I am dying over here lol. I could probably cope with this if my gym had a scale but they don't. Anyone else dependent on their scale?

  8. pre-op I ate what I wanted except bread rice Pasta potatoes sweets and sodas. My doctor had no pre-op diet except for the day before the surgery which consisted of a Breakfast that had eggs and meat and Clear liquids the rest of the day and nothing by mouth after 10pm that night.

Not all doctor are the same and they don't all require the same pre-op diet I think I just lucked up. But pre-op diet is to shrink your liver so it want be in the way during surgery. But I believe you can do. This same food your co-workers are waving in your face now will be in your face after surgery and you have to learn that these foods have got you where you are today and i know this is not where you want to continue to be if you taking the necessary step to have the sleeve done. Good Luck on your liquid diet and your procedure.

  9. Well I know when you are first out of surgery they want you to walk walk walk. So walking will be your friend. Walking will help you in your weight loss journey. I am sure your knees will get better as you lose some weight as well.

  10. My incisions have healed very well not really noticeable. They seem to fade more and more over time. I use cocoa butter on mines once they healed. I know where they are because I would look at them every day other than that they will fade away. Plus they are super small incisions with helps them not be very noticeable.
