  1. I experience was great I can not complain. I spent one day in the hospital and I was able to return to work 2 days after I was released. I wasn't able to drink straight Water but I found ice to be my substitute and best bud. I will never say I regret the surgery or the process. Just like anything you do in life there will be the ups and down and for me the good has definitely outweighed my bad moments. I would say this is the best life choice I have made to date. Stay positive

  2. You are doing great. Everyone loses at a different rate. Don't get discouraged this is only a minor bump on your wonderful journey. Just think would you have lost 14 pounds in 14 days with out the WLS. I am not saying it impossible to do but the surgery is your life tool give it time it will work. You are doing great so far.

  3. I am almost 2 years post op and I haven't told anyone about my journey as a sleever except my parents and sister who hasn't told anyone either. I have a boyfriend I been dating for about 7 months. He has no clue I had the sleeve surgery . He always say babe you are starving yourself eat. I'm always like I can't I'm not hungry. I want to tell him but don't know how. Any suggestions will help me tackle this problem.

  4. 1. Indigestion is normal considering your sleeve is very new. Drinking was hard for me as well at first especially Water and Protein. But I was able to get my Water in by eating crushed ice. The crushed ice I found to be very satisfying.

    2. The amount you can eat will slowly begin to increase over time but don't rush it. Just take advantage of the beginning stages while you can.

    3. You will enjoy dining out again. I really enjoy being able to order off the kids menu save money and still have food for later.

    4. Yes you will be able to drink sodas again. I drink at least one a day. It took about 11 months for me to drink one without mixing it with water.

    5. Well I do not think you can stretch your sleeve some say you can but I disagree. I believe you stomach just fully heals and go to the size it's suppose to be.

    6. You will get as normal as any sleever. It will be your norm and you will enjoy it.

    7. Your drinking will be normally again just give it time, don't worry.

    8. Life after a year is great. I personally still have to lose 18lbs but I am very satisfied with the journey and look forward to the future with my sleeve.

    9. Yes getting full is both mental and physical. There are those times when I want to eat more of something because it taste so good but I know I will have it for later.

    10. It becomes natural after a while you begin to love and appreciate your stomach.

    11. You can eat hamburger, pizza, hot dogs and so on and enjoy them just no more pigging out.

Don't worry we all had these questions in the beginning and it's natural to question the changes your body is going through. Love your sleeve it will change your life drastically.

  5. Depression set in for after surgery but it was due to not being able to eat the foods i liked and not losing weight immediately. I just kept thinking I am still fat but it will get better. It is a constant struggle. I still have those depressed days where i feel fat and i feel i will never lose all the weight of was hoping for. But it's a every day challenge. You have to get up get dressed smile when you want to cry. Dress up just for think he heck of it. You have to make you feel better. Plus we are here for you as WLS patients. Stay strong

  6. I am struggling as well. It is harder to lose weight after the first year. This site motivates me to keep pushing. So as a sleevers who that is 23 and half months post op i have to say don't give up. It's a every day battle even with the sleeve especially when you can now eat what you missed out on for 6 to 9 months. I been told over and over to go back to the basic Protein Shakes. I actually started them today. I like to believe that with my sleeve failure is not a option. Keep pushing you can do it.

  7. Thanks for all the helpful advice sleevers. I have gone back to my Protein shake today. I thought I was pass that phase of the sleeve process. I don't eat sweets they still make me sick especially pure sugar. So that's not my problem. My problem is carbs (bread, rice and pasta). But I cutting those out again.

I will do my best to ignore my boyfriend mother but she says it constantly. It hurts a bit because I know how hard I worked to even get to the point I am at now.

thank you all for the love and support!!!!

  8. Exact same feeling! My surgery is also jan 5! I have been on liquid diet since last Monday! I have hardly lost anything which makes it more upsetting! I have not had a coffee since last Sunday and I was getting headaches but I think it was lack of caffeine! It will get better (headache)! Just want the next week to go by fast!

Your date will be here before you know it and it will be the best choice and worth all the headache and hunger pains.
