  1. I just had my two year check up. I'm down about 125 lbs. I have gained about 5 lbs in the last 6 months but they wanted me to. My BMI is 21.5 so I'm very happy. My labs were all normal and my relationship with food is healthier. I'm scheduled for abdominoplasty in 3 weeks. Best decision I've ever made.

Keep up the good work.. I made 2 years out on 12/17/14 .. I will have my 2 year check on 01/16/15 .. He was so booked that I have to wait almost a month to see the doctor

  2. Okay everyone I know this may sound crazy.. But I have to ask.. I know our surgeries assisted us in our weight loss and its a good thing that we have restriction BUT am I the only one who gets mad when we want more but cant fit more? like right now I did only tuna for lunch no bread or crackers but now that I have reached my limit I want a slice of butter toast. (I dont eat crabs very often) But I'm angry I cant eat it because im full. Am I the only one who gets upset like this? Am I the only one who wants to still eat even after being full.. I try to choose the right foods so not to gain the weight back... So I chose a good lunch meal but am frustrated I really wanted a bad food and I really want to keep eating but cant.. Do you think what Im feeling is normal?

Every day. Almost every single day I sit down to a meal that I want to complete and I can't. Typically I can get in two or three bites before I start to feel full. Then I get pissed off and then I wait about a half an hour and try to fit in more food.

I think it's completely normal, you'll find a lot of people feel the same way. The sleeve only alters a body part it doesn't alter your mind.

You are not alone but again I'm happy with the restrictions we did this for a reason

  4. Hi how is everyone doing??? I am down 87 lbs now but I've been in a slump for a few months. I haven't lost any weight at all for the last two months which is very frustrating and depressing. My hair is also falling out like crazy which just adds to the depression. Everyone says I look great but I don't feel great. I feel like I feel short of my goals. My goal was to loose at least another 20lbs by now...... any help or motivation would be much appriciated thanks.

    Hi Rockstarwife

You should be excited you have lost 87 pounds .. That is so awesome .. I am so proud of you keep up the good work ..

My weight loss has slowed down a bit also .. I have gained 2 pounds .. I am not liking that but I thought I would go back to step one and do the liquid diet and maybe it will jump start my weight loss !

  5. So today I decided to go back to my 2-3 month basics since the changes I have made over the last few weeks have been working against me I have been up and down for the last 2 weeks and its my own fault I have been grazing and increasing my calories and including carbs and since I see thats not working it time to go back to what was working. this would be okay if I was at goal but since I am not and I want to continue to loose weight i need to stick to the plan that worked. I now know how to maintain the weight once I get to goal but this lesson is not meant for now so i need to get back on track so as of today I am making changes to get these last few pounds off before I mess my own progress up. *Taking my own advice* Wish me luck sleevers! I WILL REACH GOAL EVEN IF IT KILLS ME!

You will reach your goal ????

  6. NJ' date=' a dear fiend of mine went into the hospital a few days ago. She was put into a coma purposefully two days ago and today they are taking her off all life support so that she can die in peace. She had bypass surgery two years ago. She will die thin, but was one of the unlucky people for whom kidney failure was a result of her surgery. She was always a beautiful woman.

I'm not a huge fan of the sleeve either as I am suffering life long problems due to having another rare (seems like rare is getting more common) complication. But the sleeve is much safer than the bypass. Worst case, if you stay healthy after having the sleeve and can't meet your goals, than have it moved forward to the bypass, but start at the easier procedure and see how it goes. There are so many people here who have lost so much more than you have to lose, so the sleeve could be your best option, but don't take the very last resort first. You have a lifetime to make a second decision. I wish my dear friend still had that option.[/quote']

I am so sorry for your loss

  7. I' date=' too, have stalled for 2 weeks! Very frustrating. I know I need to work on getting enough fluids. I started exercising this week, which should help. Thank goodness for this forum, since I was starting to think I would be the first person not to lose weight with the sleeve![/quote']

    Wow I know the feeling

So how are you doing now ? Have you broken your stall

  8. Your "3 week stall" has started early. Congrats <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Just hang in there. That was my LONGEST stall ever and lasted 20 days. I thought I was going to go nuts. It's totally normal. I stall now a lot too and stair step lose. Hang in there and don't do anything crazy. Stick to your plan' date=' the weight WILL come off. Promise.

My normal now is to lose a few pounds, stall, gain a pound or two, stall, lose that gain and lose some more, stall... It's just normal now.[/quote']

Wow your normal sounds like my normal ! I was thinking about going back to stage one for a while to jump start my weight loss

  9. I have a high BMI of 57 and almost 200 lbs to lose to be in "normal range" (but I would be thrilled to lose' date=' say, 130). I asked on another message board about DS vs VSG. Many DSers flat out told me that I would NOT succeed with "just" a VSG based on my BMI. They made some compelling arguments and provided some studies which were also compelling, but I don't know if they can overcome my fears and worries about the DS. The Vitamin regimen is intimidating, and I don't want to be fighting to keep up Protein and Vitamin levels against malabsorption for the rest of my life. But, on the other hand, I don't want to fail. This weight MUST come off me soon - I feel like a medical ticking time bomb.

For those of you with a lot to lose like me - what made you decide to go with the sleeve instead of the DS? (or RNY)[/quote']

For me the reason why I did not go with RYN was plain fear and I am happy with my sleeve ..

  10. Ok ladies and gents... ... almost 5 mths out and only 37 lbs lost... ( seem to keep gaining and losing the same few lbs' date=',,,*sigh*) BUT I am in a size 18 top (down from a 28) and in size 24/26 jeans (down from a 32W pants) and in a size 22 dress (down from a 30W)... inches seem to keep leaving... but the scale is very discouraging...

    has anyone experienced this?[/quote']

    Hey Dee

You are doing well at this time I am losing and gaining the same 3 pounds also . So you are not alone

    Keep up the good work

  11. I learned yesterday I have no restrictions (Not good) I have feared bread for the last 4 months and now not so much. I had a Smash Burger Yesterday (ate the whole thing in 2.5 sessions) It was over 1' date='000 calories for the one I chose don't get me wrong there was a slight side effect. (the ability to drink Water behind it) It had been over an hour and I went to drink water and it was as though I ate a house I became over filled very fast, I guess the bread from the burger was still inside me and caused serious bloating. (Not a great feeling) I won't lie that was enough to keep me from wanting bread again any time soon but wow the fact that the bread did not bother me alone scares me since I feel breads pastas and rice are the main reason I became this big to begin with. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I am strong, I know I had a moment I am over it and today back on track. I wont let the devil win I came to far and been through to much to allow those Bad foods back into my life. I will beat this weight no matter what! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

Hang in there you are doing good ! What is a smash burger ????
