Just turned 44 last month. 44 is going to be my breakout year...The year of McButterpants!!!!Congratulations and your right. The 40's are the new 20's (only with a little more maturity restraint, lol)!

Gave the hip a couple weeks rest and feeling better. Got back on the tm this morning and started over with W4D1. It felt good!

Don't know if this will upload or not' date=' but I am so FREAKING excited!!! I just did a 5k, 8 weeks out!!!! Yes it includes my 5 minute warm-up, yes I walked 5:44 part way through...but dang it I DID IT!!! Lol!!!! (Run 1= 21:49, mid-walk=5:45, run 2=7:29) I believe this averages to 4.65 mph I ran farther than I ever have on this specific outdoor loop, dodging snow, ice, and standing Water (major snow storm this last week in Wyoming, lol)... [/quote']Congratulations! Good Job.

Ran the Disney Happy Haunted Trails 5K today. Even though it was a trail run and I had to dodge and weave around the walkers' date=' I still set a PR of 37:40. Feeling pretty good today, no pain or fatigue. Next run will be a 4.25 run Tuesday morning. Hope you all, have a good weekend![/quote']Awesome Job!

A big shout out to all of you !!!! Haven't been on in awhile' date=' things have been going great!!! Since I last posted on this thread I turned 41, became a grandmother to a beautiful granddaughter . I'm 11 months post-op , I've lost 97 lbs and am 15 lbs from goal. The first pic is me and my granddaughter taken last month. The second pic , on top is me 2 days post-op, bottom taken last month. Loving me and what my sleeve has done for me!!![/quote']Congratulations on the grandbaby. They're fun aren't they? I have one and a second on the way in April. Can't wait!! Your pics are so inspiring. I'm down 56lbs after 9 mos post-op and getting kind of depressed. The scales have only went down 5lbs over the last 3 months. :-( Don't know what to do and my Dr is 5 hrs away. I need to call but I keep thinking the numbers have GOT to start dropping soon!
Thanks for the pick me up with the pics and keep up the good work. You are awesome!!

Week 9 day 3 done! If I was doing couch to 5k I would have graduated today but I still have 6 weeks left! Those 20-minute runs are getting easier and I only had 2 minutes to recover this time. Next week the intervals get shorter but so do the recovery periods' date=' and total time running goes up.[/quote']Keep up the awesome work. I've kind of stalled but your encouraging me to keep at it!

Took my run outside Monday and loved it until I started hurting in my right hip area. I think I pulled a muscle so it's been the stationary bike for the rest of this week. The pain is finally starting to go away today. I'm hoping by Monday I can go back to my running. I have a women's conference this weekend so I'm sure I'll get lots of steps in walking around.

Same run today as yesterday and it was quite a bit easier! I can't believe I am doing 40 minutes of running with only 3 minutes rest! You are very inspiring! Keep up the good work.

Just did the 7 minute workout app by bluefin. It totally kicked my butt. I went through it twice for a total of 14 minutes and then 20 minutes on the stationary bike. I think I got a good workout today.

Did 2.5 miles this am. Still working on distance between runs and not so worried about speed. I'm just happy I'm still running and now I'm not so worried about telling people I'm running. Before I was embarrassed to say I was running because I was afraid of being judged. Like people thinking I was too fat to be running. Now I don't care anymore. I'm a runner! No ifs, ands or buts!!!

I did w8d1 yesterday' date=' though it was really really hard![/quote']Your doing great. Keep going!

Finally took it outside Saturday. Did 2 miles and had to stop. My mother brought her dog to me to puppysit for the day. I figured it would be fun to have a companion. Note to self, don't let a dig on a retractable leash have free rein! Lol
Today back on the treadmill. Did 2.25. I'm happy with that right now.

Uh BTW.....if you can avoid it....don't break a toe while trail running. It sucks...don't ask me how I know.
Ouch! Hope it heals soon.

I don't worry too much about speed at this point. When I try to run faster I have a tendency to lengthen my stride and then my knee starts hurting. When I shorten my stride' date=' no knee pain. I ran for 35 minutes straight today. It's weird how at this point I feel like I can keep running at the end without any problem. I'm not out of breath and my legs don't hurt. I know though that adding distance too quickly is how injuries happen, so I'm just enjoying being able to go my planned time.
I've been scouting out 10Ks for December. I think I found one close by on Dec 8. That will give me enough time to get my distance up to a 10K.[/quote']
I like your plan. I made it today running 25 min. I decided to keep my pace at 4.2 until I'm running more distance too. Sound advice. Thnx!!

I did it! I ran for 5 minutes at a time! I'm so proud' date=' I was really thinking there was no way I could do it... Must be that fat girl in my brain...I showed her! Actually I'm still on the treadmill I was so excited to share, thanks everyone![/quote']Congratulations! Your a winner & that fat girl can't stop you now!!

OMG' date=' the 20 minute run was the toughest! I've done the C25K program 3 times (due to injuries and surgery) and each time I had to repeat that day 3 times before I could make it through it. Just don't give up and slow your pace if you have to.I finished the program and am adding a minute every run. I'm up to 34 minutes of running and feel like I could probably do more, but don't want to add mileage too fast and get injured (had that happen way to many times!). Planning on starting Bridge to 10K in a few weeks. First day is run 10 min walk 1 min repeat 4 times.
Anyone else planning on progressing to 10K after you're done with the 5K program?[/quote']
I am moving on to 10k. I'm going to work on my speed so taking it "slow" though.

I finished my C25K program yesterday. I am so thankful that I figured out how to get rid of the nagging knee pain that I've been having at the end of my runs. The 30min run was pretty easy. My plan now is to add 1 min on every run until I'm up to running 3 miles. I think my pace will put me around 40 min. It's amazing that even though I shortened my stride to get rid of the knee pain' date=' my pace has improved because I increased my cadence. I don't feel like I'm struggling to run faster either. I'm really not trying to set any personal records or anything. I just want to be able to run the whole way.My next 5K is the Disney Happy Haunted 5K Trail Run. My first 5K ever (in 2009) was the Royal Family 5K Disney run. I love the Disney runs.[/quote']
I like your plan. Maybe I should try that. I would live to do a Disney run someday. That has been on my bucket list.

Did my 4th 5K this morning. Improved my time by 2 min so I'm happy with that. Was shooting for 45 but did it in 47. My last time was 49. Happy Labor Day everyone.

W7d1! 20 minute run. Smashed it!Congratulations!

My husband just did w1d1 this morning! He is not sleeved and not obese but could stand to lose a few and get healthier. I'm proud of him even though I suspect we won't be able to run together because he will be faster than me!That is so awesome!
-
Happy Labor Day weekend everyone. Be safe and relax a bit.
-
I finished my 2.0 mile run this am. Thank you God! On to my Labor Day 5K. Last one I did in 49 min so my goal this time is 45 min. Slow but steady says the turtle.

Wow that is impressive' date=' Butter!I finished W6D3 today! A 15-minute run, 5 minute walk, then 5 minute run at the end. Wow!
W7D1 is a 20-minute run, straight![/quote']
You're almost done misty. You can do it!

Well' date=' to liven things up. I'm finished C25K a while back, but I'm giving myself a new challenge starting tomorrow. 100 miles in 30 days. By far the most I've ever done....here goes.[/quote']You'll do it. You don't sound like a quitter (is that an actual word?) to me. Run on!
