  1. Ok, it's been a while since I've been on here. But I'm feeling the need to confess so here goes...

I confess that I'm way more arrogant than I ever thought possible

I confess that I see myself as one hot momma (it took pics to convince me I wasn't before weight loss, lol)

I confess I'm addicted to beef Jerky and I justify the unhealthiness of it by the great Protein amount

I confess that sex is way better now!

I confess that I'm 11 months out and drink alcohol several times a week even though I signed a contract that I would wait a year

I confess that I love my cheese puffs and dont even feel guilty about it

I confess that I don't say it out loud but I am beyond thrilled that I now share clothes with my 14 year old daughter

I confess that while folding clothes I hold up my new panties and just grin at how tiny they look

Last but not least I confess that this is by far the best decision I've ever made, better than when I said 'I do' to my husband!!!

    Whew, that felt great, thx

  2. Forget the grocery store! stay out of Costco!

I just came back ended up having a costco

"Sample" lunch and don't know how to track it in my calorie counter 0_o

Oh yeah I'm 4 months out don't try this at home :)

Lol, that's funny because I love free lunch at Costco, Sam's, even the food court at the mall. One walk through and I'm full and didn't spend a dime on lunch! However, I don't track so haven't thought of that issue, good luck with that!

  3. I'm down 42 lbs since Dec 17/2012. Bought my first pair of size 16 jeans. Rocking them at work today' date=' and the compliments are just embarrassing.[/quote']

I'm with you on the comments (although I'm not complaining). Sleeved 12/17, have lost 46lbs since surgery, 56lbs total and am also rocking my new 16's! Truly, my friends are in a lose/lose situation, it makes me uncomfortable to get all the compliments but if they don't comment I get secretly upset. Oh well, if we keep rocking it like we are, guess we better get used to the compliments! Congrats!

  4. I think the sleeve surgery was way more painful.. C-section scar was on the outside vs. them taking out your stomach & scared on the inside & out...

Huh? C-section on the outside? I've had 3, scar on outside, yes but they also cut through your abdominal muscles, cut your uterus open and pulled out a human from your inside! Sorry to be graphic but it was a little more than 'on the outside'. Anyway, to OP, everyone is different, of course, but my sleeve surgery did not even compare to pain of c-section recovery. As long as no complications, recovery from the actual surgery (incisions and what not) is/was the easy part.

  5. Geeze........I keep seeing post like these!!! I am second guessing my decision to have surgery now. I'm sorry this is not working for you.

I hope this doesn't make you not have surgery. I certainly hope you don't really think this 'is not working' for her. No one is perfect and I think all of us have slipped up in some way or another at some point. This is a tool, as I'm sure we've all heard 100 times. Again, no one is perfect, there is no miracle surgery that means you'll never eat the wrong thing again. All you can do is do better tomorrow. This surgery is a life saver for many of us. One piece of cake, what would we eat before surgery? For me, 4 pieces! So, carry on OP, you'll be all right!

  6. I eat BBQ Sauce on almost all meat, love it. Sugar is sugar, unless you are trying to stay away from sugars, it's fine. I haven't had a problem tolerating it but thats just trial and error for each individual. As few calories as I consume, I honestly don't worry about a little sugar here and there, but to each their own. I've also enjoyed a sliver of birthday cake since being sleeved so if you are very strict with your diet then please disregard my comment, lol

  7. Me me me me!!!! idk wth is wrong with me lately but I am saying what's on my mind before I even realize it...

Same here. I'm a raging b****h since surgery. My husband doesn't seen to like it of course, but I am actually okay with it. Personally, I think I hated myself so bad before and lack of self confidence just kind of kept me quiet sometimes. Now I say whatever I feel whenever I feel it and it is very liberating. Everyone else around me may complain about it but not me!

  8. I agree, I don't look in the mirror and see it. However, I KNOW it's noticeable now because just this week I've had 6 different people comment on my weight loss (that don't know about surgery). I've lost 50lbs, including 2 week pre-op diet. It is exciting to have people finally notice. It saddens me though that I was big enough that it takes 50lbs (the size of my 5 year old) for it to be noticeable! Oh well, part of the 'journey' I suppose :)

  9. I was told no nsaids for life for risk of ulcers. Tylenol never worked for me either. Thankfully, I haven't needed pain reliever as much since losing some weight. There is a prescription that is basically Tylenol on steroids, lol. If your doc will write some Ultram, which he/she should, it is stronger than tylenol and may help.

  10. I'm one of the ones that didn't tell many ppl at all, not because I'm ashamed, just because I don't like being questioned and having to defend my decision, if you will. I would either not go, or tell them you are citing back on your portions to get healthy. If they make some nasty comment, first of all, thats exactly when your husband needs to step in. I would NEVER allow my family to talk down talk my husband and that should be nipped in the bud immediately. If he doesn't say anything then you should. I would certainly point out to them that health is your top priority, not 'fitting in with their family'. I think when you hand it right back to them, they may see how stupid their comments are and that you aren't phased by them. Oooh girl, what's their number, I want to call them right now! Where do ppl get off thinking it's okay to talk to ppl like that?! If you dont want to tel them, don't! They can say what they want but when it works and you are rocking it, they can all kiss your skinny tail!

  11. Good to know, thx! Right now, food just seems like a wasted effort to me. I care nothing about spending time to prepare anything tasty as I can only eat a few bites anyway. Don't get me wrong, so proud that I can no longer binge, but just think it's easier to grab a piece of cheese than to waste time on something I won't enjoy. Thanks for posting this. I'm 2 months out, looking forward to the day that food is 'worth it'. I will say, I got my prayer answered, to eat to live rather than live to eat so definitely not complaining :)

  12. So, my surgery was 12/17. After a grueling stall, I have finally started losing again. As of this morning lost 39lbs since surgery, 49lbs total. While I have noticed my clothes getting looser, including my size 22 jeans, I have not tried on any new clothes...until tonight. I'm at Target with my 13 year old daughter and decided I would hesitantly try on size 18 jeans. I had already gave myself the pep talk to not be discouraged if/when they didn't fit, especially since they were Mossimo and in my previous shopping days, Mossimo was only made for twig b*****s! Anyway, so when I get the 18s zipped without having to suck in and hold my breath, I'm on top of the world. At this point, I could care less if these jeans cost $100, they are mine. Then my daughter (who wears those horrific skinny jeans) says, 'mom, those are too baggy, please take those off'. So....I try on the 16s and, oh yeah baby, I'm doing old school cabbage patch up in the Target dressing room. Perfect fit! I don't think I've ever bought a size 16 jean. If I remember correctly, I went from a 12 to 20 overnight after having my daughter. Ok, so here's the bummed part. I get home, so excited to tell my husband (who didn't want me to have surgery). I put the jeans on and strut out like I'm on a freaking catwalk! His response...'they're stretchy jeans, that doesn't really count'. Are you kidding me!? Doesn't count? Um, whatever, what a buzz kill! Yeah, guess who won't be touching this size 16 hiney for a while!

  13. My opinion is that if you cannot drink without nausea or throwing up' date=' it is time to go get an IV. Almost been there and done that. I know a few others had to do this so do not worry, you are not alone on this. Try the old person finger test. Pinch your index finger at the end closest to the tip. If your skin molds and does not bounce back, you should check for dehydration. By the way, made that test up so do get urgent care if you need it or perhaps others have good advise.[/quote']

I'm laughing that you made that up and called it the old people way...I'm a nurse and we actually do still use that to check skin turgor but you pinch the skin on the back of the hand. Good job fiddleman!
