  1. I met with my surgeon today. It was my last appointment before surgery! I have read so much about people having to do a pre-op diet for 2 weeks. My doctors said that the diet only shrinks your liver a little bit. He said he used to make his patients do the diet but then he tried the diet and it was awful so he doesn't make his patients do the diet anymore. Does anyone else not have to do a pre-op diet?
  2. Fonally, that is a very good article! So maybe it would be okay to buy some Wonder Slim Products, as long as it is not my only source of protein!?
  3. Thanks everyone! My doctor hasn't said anything about me doing a diet before surgery but I was thinking about doing it anyway so he doesn't clip my liver. I have my last appointment with him on Thursday and I'm going to ask him if he wants me to do anything. Not sure!
  4. This surgery is getting real now. I have my last doctors appointment on Thursday and they have penciled in my surgery date for February 26 at 8am. I can't believe that this is happening! This is crazy! I'm so excited for my new life. =)
  5. Very good to know!
  6. Companies should be required to list their EFFECTIVE protein instead of protein that can't even be metabolized by the body. What is the point of even having protein listed?
  7. Very interesting!
  8. So I need to look for collagen free products. Is there anything else I should look for? I knew those products were too good to be true!
  9. Collagen is a protein, which is probably why a lot of their products are high in proteins.
  10. Has anyone tried the wonder slim products or bari wise products? I've been thinking about ordering some to try before I have my surgery but I don't want to waste my money. I need some ideas for after the liquid phase of my diet! Thanks!
  11. Awesome! What is it like drinking? Does it feel different to you? Can you only drink a little at a time?
  12. Do you feel like you are having a hard time maintaining 135 now? Jw...
  13. You can always get a bypass and insurance will cover it.
  14. Why not get the vertical sleeve surgery first and if it is too bad to tolerate then get the gastric bypass. That's the beauty of the vertical sleeve, you can get it changed to a bypass.

  16. I'm looking at more of the nutrition facts for the ensure and I think it has too many carbs and not enough proteins. Just a second thought!
  17. I saw some ensure drinks that were clear liquids AND had like 9 grams of protein today at Target! They had peach and promegranate berry.
