    Frustrated :(

I just use mayo, celery (although early out I skipped the celery) and dehydrated onion for both tuna and chicken salad.....sometimes a little spicy brown mustard in the chicken salad for a little zing.

    Frustrated :(

Refried beans with cheddar, lentil soup in the blender, chicken or tuna salad in the blender.....any meat in the blender with some gravy. Search "ricotta bake" on these forums.
  3. My mom always made tuna in the blender when I was a kid...it was like a tuna spread. We loved it that way. Maybe use thin cucumber slices to scoop the tuna spread if you can have them.
  4. Call your doctor or go to the ER......this is not a good place for medical advice especially if your pain is severe. Pain is not normal ever. It could something as simple be trapped gas but it could be something more. Take care of yourself

    My new junk food.

Oven roasted chick peas...crunchy, salty and as spicy as you want to make them
  6. Remember you need calcium citrate not calcium carbonate. Tums, rolaids and other chewable antacids are not calcium citrate. Most of the calcium chews and gummies found in Walmart, CVS, etc. are calcium carbonate. I used to take the Bariatric Advantage caramel and Calcet Creamy chocolate bites but they are pricey and I developed an aversion to them...the taste started to make me sick and give me reflux. I just choke down the tablets now.
  7. I am a mere 4'10" and 125lbs......my size 8 jeans are a little big but size 6 fits snug and causes the excess belly skin to roll over the top of my jeans. Not sure I have a goal size but I like what I see in the mirror at this size.

    Hydration Hype...?

^^^^ What she said....less food means less liquids. I don't think I have met the 64oz goal yet. I have come close but most of the times I just can't force another drop in. I do think it does help you with losing weight and keeping constipation at bay.

    Boobs & Butt

Gone and gone. : ( I was a 40DDD and had breast reduction long before the thought of WLS ever entered my mind. After the reduction and before the WLS I was a 38/40 C cup. Now I am a 36B, and the cups are a little big but A cups are too small.

    Will it really work?

It will work....if you work it. Follow your doctor's instructions and eating plan to the letter. Dense protein first, followed by veggies and starch last. Lots of water and beware of liquid calories(smoothies, regular iced tea, iced coffee, etc)
  11. are you tracking your calories on myfitnesspal or something like that? Do you know how many calories you actually are taking in? Unless you write it down from the label or enter every bite you take into the app there is no way of knowing for sure. I know I can add lots of calories throughout the day with a bite of something here, a nibble of something there. Are you grazing? I am year out and I find myself grazing more than I should. Are you eating dense Protein first, before veggies or starch? Do you feel full after you eat? Are you exercising regularly? I think exercising is extremely helpful if you can do it. lastly, are you drinking enough Water?
  12. Please call your surgeon...this is no place for medical advice if your pain is severe.

    Unsatisfied with food!

hmmm... I guess I am a creature of habit and eat a lot of the same things every day and do not get bored. Your menu looks pretty much like mine. But I do believe your taste will return, it takes time. You are very early out. Looks like you are getting plenty of protein...don't forget your Water. Your weight loss is great. Does your plan allow some fruit yet? How about half an apple or banana with some Peanut Butter as a snack instead of a yogurt. i would peel the skin off the apple. I find I really enjoy these "treats" but only eat them sparingly because of the carb content. Tuna salad on cucumber slices? have you tried making your meat with some type of sauce or gravy? Chicken marsla, lemon chicken, meatloaf, meatballs with either brown gravy or spaghetti sauce....so you are not eating plain meat? One of my favorite and easy ways to cook chicken is to cut up boneless breast into cubes, season with salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder, brown it in a little oil and then add a can of cream of chicken soup(and the water or milk as directed)and let simmer until done. I add dumplings for the rest of my family but the chicken is moist and tasty from the Soup. Google some crock pot recipes...makes meat moist and juicy and the cooking liquid/gravy adds flavor. You'll get there!

    Unsatisfied with food!

I woukd consider it a blessing and use it to your advantage as long as it lasts. I am year out and I find myself wanting to eat because something tastes good. That is what led me to bariatric surgery. I would love to have the days back when I only ate to sustain my body and eating for pleasure was not an issue. That being said.....can you give us a sample menu? Maybe we can help you tweak it. Are you drinking any Protein drinks to supplement your intake? I still start my day with a premier Protein Drink...gives me 11 ounces towards my liquid intake amd 30 grams of protein towards my protein intake.

    Hunger

Could be spasms or acid. Did your doctor give you an acid reducer? I took Prevacid and Carafate for one month post op to help the healing, soothe the irritation, etc.

    "In between" sizes . . . . grrr

I guess it depends on your body shape and where you lose it from first. I never noticed but my Mom told me that to her I looked I like I lost weight from the top down. So, maybe your shirts could be smaller before your pants.

    Fluids

All Crystal Light flavors give me heartburn now. For the first few months I drank diluted apple juice. Although it had calories it was the only thing I could get down in large enough quantities to keep me hydrated. I started at 50/50 juice to water and gradually increased the water. Your protein drinks count towards your daily fluid intake as well as skim milk, decaf coffee and tea.....it doesn't have to be all water. Sugar free ice pops count too. It may sound odd, but try sipping chicken broth from a mug like tea as an afternoon "snack" I found it easy to sip and it was a break from the sweet flavor of protein drinks, ice pops and juice.

    I'm so tired

Have you had any post op labs done yet? I was tired and it turned out my iron level was a little low. I take an iron supplement every other day now and feel better.

Tylenol also makes a tablet that melts on your tongue. It s junior strength so you will have to take more than the box says.

    Veterans please HELP...

I take regular vitamins...Nature Made Mutli Vitamin, I take b12, calcium citrate, vitamin A(mine was a little low) and slow release iron(again, a little low). I do not buy any special bariatric vitamins. I get whatever brand is on sale. I swallow pills but alway eat something first.
  21. I don't recall a smell for the choc, vanilla and strawberry. I found the choco and strawberry too sweet for my taste and the vanilla was jus OK. The chicken broth definitely had a Protein like smell to me and it tasty oniony to me. I mixed the unflavored in plain chicken broth. You can mix it into yogurt, applesauce, pudding, oatmeal, etc. but wait for any hit beverage or food to cool a bit before adding it. They sell a sample package which is a great way to try it. Everyone has different taste buds and sense of smell so it's hard to judge the product based on other people's opinion. If you like it that would great because it is supposed to be very good quality protien.

    Strategies for rough days?

Have you tried sugar free ice pops or sugar free italian ice? They count as liquid and maybe they would be easier to get down. Hope you feel better soon.

Oven roasted chickpeas are good snack if you crave something crunchy

    fast food options

I ate at Chick Fil A for the first time ever tonight. I had the children's meal of 4 grilled chicken bites with a fruit cup and a low fat milk. It was very good.

    Underwear that stay put?

If you buy Hanes or Fruit of the Loom isn't there a size chart on the package? Measure your waist and hips to see what size the package recommends. I find that cotton stretch underwear are very comfortable, stay in place and don't ride up.
