  1. Sleeved dec17.

I would have to say my success so far has been not eating, thinking or even look at rice, Pasta soda and anything carbonated since being sleeved.

Non success for me would be maintaining the same weight for the past 2 months. :-( YEP! Ive lost nothing in the past two months. Im sooo frustrated at that being that i still have a good 50pounds to goal weight. I really hate to think My weight loss stopped just after 4 months of surgery. My tool is just fine. I still eat small amounts as the first 4 months but it just isnt coming off in scale numbers or body inches.

  2. For those of you getting lifts and what not' date=' have you already gone through the insurance process? My insurance will cover a lift, does that mean if needed can I just self pay for implants in the same surgery therefore waiving fees that I would acrue if done seperately..I know I should wait and see but I always like to prepare[/quote']

Very interested in this as well. I didnt know insurance covers lift at all. I have Humana. I didnt have a 6 or even 3 month of monitored weighloss requirement. I didnt have any requirements for surgery other then BMI... So im going to look into this.

  3. I just started my second month with nuvaring. So far so good.

How far out did you get your period when you took it out the first month?

I just took mine out this Past Sunday and today is Wednesday and i havent gotten it. Im just spotting. Not sure if thats normal or considered your period. This is the first month i use nuvaring.

  4. 3 mo post op with massive hair loss' date=' which I expected, but tender scalp too ??? :(

I go for next follow up in June, should I wait to call to doctor, this is normal right?

Just 2 weeks ago i was going through the same thing. Major tenderness in scalp with scaps. This was due to the major amounts of hair falling out like Water during the shower, then right after shower when i was brushing it then through out the day when i would tug it. Ive always had fine hair and not much hair to begin with so this was a huge problem for me, it was falling at a crazy y rate and in just 1 month think i lost like half my hair. It shows big time on the front and sides.

Since i was sleeved back in Dec, ive drank like 5000mg of Biotin daily, then two weeks ago (after crying my ass off seeing my scalp) i bought these pills called Hair, Skin & Nails. The directions are to drink 1 tablet 3x a day. A drink one after Breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Well this week is the 3rd week and i am starting to see difference. To start with, no more tenderness or scabs and less hair feel out in the shower and during brushing. This week i was even able to blow dry my hair and not much came out. Also when i tug it during the day, about 3-4 strands come out, compared to the bulks that came out before.

I hope i am not jinxing myself for talking too soon but i think these pills are working. Give them a try ASAP. Heres the pic. If you try them f/u with me for results.

  5. Is anyone on NuvaRing or has used it?

My PCP prescribed it and knows i have The sleeve. She said NuvaRing does not cause weight gain but im still worried about gaining. Anybody has experince with this BC?

  6. Track everything in MyFitnessPal. I know ... it's a pain in the butt' date=' but do it. Get into the habit now, it will pay dividends later.

When you exercise, are you working up a big sweat or just going through the motions? You gotta get your heart rate up for exercise to count, IMO.

Don't use the scale. Give yourself a one month break. It can only provide discouragement which can lead to cheating.

    Get your liquids up.

Just keep doing the right thing and it will happen. This is one of the reasons why I think it does us no good to share that we are having the surgery. Other people just don't understand the process.[/quote']

I do 30min in treadmill to HR 135. And 15min on elliptical to HR 160.... I try to do this 3-4x a week.

  7. Im a little over 3months out and havent lost any weight for the past 4 weeks. Im sooo frustrated with that and to top it if the amount of hair im losing is crazy....

Today a coworker goes "whats wrong with ur operation, ive seen you in the same weight since forever! I expected you looking like a barbie by now" i almost broke down in tears. I held it in and went to cry in the bathroom. What am i doing wrong! Why am i not losing???? I eat between 600-900 cal a day, mostly Protein. I am excercising, my Water intake can be vetter but really???? Its been 4weeks in the same weight! Im soooo frustrated. I really hope i didnt do this to stop losing at 3months out. I have 50-60 more to go.

Has anyone had a stall this soon out for such a long time and then began losing again?

  8. Hello' date='

I am a Hairstylist for 14 years and just got sleeved Oct 15/2012. What you need to do is Protein,Protein, Protein. If you can not do the protein then you can go buy these Vitamins called hair skin and nails tablets. They are great, also Biotin tablets alone are good too for Hair loss. But a lot of people loose there hair after this surgery because of the lack of protein in the body. You will not loose all your hair but you will have some heavy shedding.

That will go away in time.

But if you want to go to your beautician have here to give you a protein or keratin treatment it ill stop the hair loss until you get the tablets or more protein.

    I hope this helped?[/quote']

Hi, i did the Keratin straightening a few yrs ago and i lost alot of hair.....
