  1. It was that way with me for quite awhile after my surgery. Like you I also had the hernia repair to. Make sure your food has some kind of moisture to it. Maybe a little bit of thin gravy to the eggs or something in that nature. Take your time, eat super slow and maybe only take about a half of a teaspoon at a time. It will get better , just takes time to heal all the cuts and sutures our poor esophagus and stomachs have gone through.
  2. I have and am in your shoes. I have learned to either ignore it when it comes from unwanted attention. I have also learned to take a step back and breathe when it comes from family, friends and kind strangers " not the people who are making lewd or sexual comments". Keep your head high and be proud of the accomplishments that you are doing for yourself and family. Don't let unwanted attention bring you down . There will always be a$$ holes out there who get their rocks off by saying $hit to women. When you get enough confidence up maybe you can turn it on them and watch them squirm, give them a dose of their own medicine!
  3. I am a year and half from surgery, and still have problems with water. I have to make sure it is the right temperature or it will come right back up with pain. I miss ice cold water so much. Give it time and try it at different temperatures . Good luck.
  4. How long ago was it that you had surgery?
  5. You look great! Congratulations!
  6. Those sugar free Sonic slushes are not sugar free! The slushes are made from sugar water that is frozen. My daughter who is a manager of one is who informed me about them.
  7. Depends on how far you are out. Maybe some soup ir a light salad with the dressing on the side. Just dont over do it and take your time to see how the food goes down.
  8. Wow, when it rains it floods for you! I hope you heal quickly. And thank goodness, it wasn't another leak!
  9. I want to thank everyone for their replys. It feels great to get the truth out and face it. I always denied my self the real truth until I just couldn't do it anymore. Again thank you, keep the replys coming.
  10. Reading all of these stories has got me thinking about how to let go of the past. I see a therapist regularly and we talk about the things that had happened. But for some strange reason I am cursed with always remembering the bad things that happen. They just dont seem to go away. I catch my self wondering if I will gain the weight back because of this. My childhood and teen years were horrible. As I grew up there were more people in my life who hurt me the same way. How does anyone get over and through this? I have forgiven everyone who ever hurt me , I just haven't forgotten.
  11. Just wondering if anyone has figured out there reason for being obese? As for me is was alot of abuse when I was very young. I had always felt that if I was large no one could ever hurt me again because I felt invisible. What are some of your reasons for the weight?
  12. Postop Thanks for the info. I wish they were gone but they aren't. I will be looking in to this in a couple of months. My deductible went really high this year so I have to save some money just incase they say yes.
  13. Thank for the info, it gives me something to consider. I hope the outcome with getting them to pay for it will be a success.
  14. Yes I still have sleep apnea and high cholesterol. Hopefully in the next few days I can get a hold of the insurance company and see what can be done.
  15. I am 15 months out now and still problems with breakfast. I guess because before surgery I never ate breakfast. Now I just drink about 6 oz of a protein shake and I am good until lunch. It will take time but will get use to it eventually. good luck and hang in there.
  16. I am considering having this procedure as well. I had the VSG done in 12/4/2012 and have not reached my goal yet. I have done everything that I was suppose to and still considered obesed. I am 5'3 and still weigh 190 lbs . I also have a lot of hormone issues which does not help in losing weight. Trying to figure out how to get the insurance company to pay for this surgery. Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.
  17. Take a step back for one second ok. Maybe just maybe it was meant for you to have your surgery at the original place. Maybe God is telling you to have it there to protect you from something happening at that other hospital. I get you want to keep it private. You need to do this for you, and no one else. Think of how much better life will be when this weight is off for good. Keep your head up and please don't feel shame or embarrassment for doing something so positive for yourself. God will always show you the right direction to go, you just have to listen. Good luck with what ever choice you make.
  18. Could be acid reflux. Sometimes it mimics hunger. Are you on an acid reducer. Im 15 months out and still take acid reducer pills. The hunger does get more the futher you are out in most patients.

I am not gonna spend my time defending my beliefs! I don't have the time for that. Like I said when I first posted , if you don' like what was posted why click on it? Do you not have anything better to do than disagree with strangers? I still wish you the best and I will pray for you God Bless.

Tapsnap- I will say this most of what you are referring to is the Old Testament , before Christ . Most Christians try to live by the New Testament , that is why God gave his only son so that we could be saved from all of the sins we committed in our life. I am not trying to push religion on anyone it is up to everyone what they want to believe. Myself I believe in God and always will. Good Day everyone and God Bless.
  21. I have acid real bad after the surgery also and still have it every day. I take the omeprazole everyday. I get bad acid reflux even from Water. I am almost 8 months out. I had a Hiatel Hernia fixed when I got the sleeve, weirdest thing though I didn't have acid reflux before. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using VST

This forum is in the United States of America right! Freedom of speech baby! Those of you who do not like, don't post and keep going. Imworthit- there are some Christians groups on here that maybe you can join. That way you will not have to hear such negativity from non believers.
