    Hungry?

I took a Metamucil tablet yesterday and today and it has helped with hunger sooooo much. I only ate 710 calories today compared to the 1000-1200 I was eating. And I haven't been starving all day. When I get hungry I can eat something small like a yogurt or string cheese and be good to go. Before yesterday I was having to eat more at a time and more often. Idk if its the Metamucil tablet or if my body is finally getting use to not having a stomach but I'm pretty stoked because I've been battling the sucky starvation for 6 weeks.

    Hungry?

Same boat as you guys! Always hungry
  3. I don't necessarily regret mine but it was definitely talked up way more than it should have been. I was under the impression that 600 cal a day would keep me satisfied for like 6 months. Definitely not the case. I'm 7 weeks out and eat over 1000 cals a day and I'm always starving. I have to make myself not eat and deal with the starvation so I do keep losing. It's just like a freakin diet. 4,700 dollars for a diet. Apparently my stomach was ginormous before or they sure didn't cut out 85% and people that haven't had this issue are not understanding at all. I hope you get the best out of your sleeve and encounter zero problems.

    I feel real hunger!

I'll be 7 weeks out on Monday. My hunger started after a week and a half and it hasn't gone away since. I ate gas x strips for days because everyone told me it was gas. I've been taking a heartburn medication pill since week 3 and it hasn't helped. I've only gotten an actual "full" feeling one time. All protein makes me natious except for cheese. Your hunger may be real hunger but I do agree with the others that say not to judge it too soon. And even if it is real hunger it won't take much to make the hunger subside. The reason I never actually get full or satisfied is because after a couple bites mostly everything gets stuck unless its yogurt or of course cheese. I guess the reason I'm telling you all this is because there are people such as myself that always have hunger and have to eat very often to keep it at bay but you will still lose weight regardless. I average 3-4 pounds a week and I eat more calories than I'm supposed to which might not be a good thing but I'm not gonna starve myself because that seems fairly pointless. I do wish you luck and I'm crossing my fingers for you that it is just gas or something that subsides soon because being hungry all the time is stressful
  5. Ok I'm not calling anyone a liar but there is something I just don't understand and that is calorie intake. The majority of people at the same time frame as me 3 days shy of 7 weeks eat 600-800 calories a day. At least that's what I've read. Is that honest? Cos I just don't even understand. For breakfast I had this yogurt with honey mixed in it, I don't remember the name but I got it in the organic section cos it had 12 grams of protein. That was 190 calories. I ate that at 8am. At 10:30 I had a string cheese which was 80 cal and 6g of protein. At 1 I had a pure protein shake that was 160 cal and 30g of protein. Just now 3:20 I had 2 lean cuisine spring rolls with a little bit of cocktail sauce so that is 173 cal but I rounded up to 175. That meal was only like 8g of protein. I've only drank water and then a fuze low cal which is 10 calories. So total that is 615 calories and its only 3:30. I'll eat two more times, a snack and dinner so how do I keep both those under 185 cals total for an 800 cal limit?? I just don't understand how people stay so low. This is probably the lowest I've been all week and its still gonna be more that 800. Is 6-8 hundred calories really an honest amount or does everybody just differ dramatically. It's very strange. I can't even find food that low in calories. I really wish I would have researched way more before surgery. I thought I did but I really could use some more
  6. Thanks for sharing that Amy.
  7. Thank you all for your replies. Some were helpful. I don't know if anyone has read my other posts but I have a real problem with eggs and chicken so I don't eat either of those. Thank you for the yogurt suggestions, I've had a hard time finding low cal high protein (I'm a very sucky shopper because I have three little kids with me every time I shop). I'm also always hungry and that is why I eat every two hours. If I don't I feel like I'm going to pass out. Hunger is worse now than before surgery so that's been a real struggle even when I have a lot of protein. Anyways, thank you for the suggestions and letting me know that 600-800 is doable. I appreciate some of your advice.

5 weeks out and getting upset

I've only lost 24 and I'm almost 7 weeks so it could be even slower lol
  9. Ok guys and gals, I need major food ideas. I'm feeling lost. Tomorrow ill be 5 weeks out. I feel like I eat more fattening food now then I did before surgery. My main food is mashed potatoes, hello carbs. Chicken, eggs, and refried beans make me sick. I tried oatmeal, i didn't get sick but it just felt really uncomfortable. Any kind of potato is really easy for me to eat which is annoying because its loaded with carbs. My sleeve likes cheese and yogurt but my taste buds hate yogurt these days. Anybody wanna give me a whole day of planned meals that don't include the things that make me sick and that don't include sweet food. I really don't like any sweet food and it takes everything to drink protein shakes cos the sweetness is gagarific. I've been stalled at a19 pound loss...Not too thrilled about that but i think it will get better if I can find variety. Thanks in advance and I'm sorry for the novel.
  10. How many calories do you eat?

Where the heck is my restriction

So I'm really curious now is the stuck feeling fullness or swollen? How long does it take to not be swollen?

Where the heck is my restriction

I don't like chili:/ but I tried refried Beans and thought I was gonna die. Well it's hard cos the variety is low and my taste buds are very picky. But I eat worse now then I did before surgery because I eat crackers and cheese more than anything else.

Where the heck is my restriction

Um yes and no. Certain things hurt as soon as I eat and some things don't. All Protein hurts like hell including Greek yogurt. The only few things that go down without being a pain is crackers, cheese (the oatmeal today), cream of potato Soup and mashed potatoes. Everything else hurts or makes me burp a lot.

Where the heck is my restriction

I hear a lot of people say that but I just don't understand it. When I'm so hungry I'm shaking, I don't think that's head hunger but idk, I could be wrong. Although when i do eat i dont still feel shaky but after 30 min im right back to it. A lot of the problem is everybody suggest I eat the same 5 things and they either make me sick or are gross. eggs, tuna, chicken salad, refried Beans and cottage cheese. That is what everyone suggests. I've tried them all except tuna. Cottage cheese was awesome the first time I had it but the second time was just horrible. Maybe the brand, idk. I'm not very creative so trying to find new foods is hard.

Where the heck is my restriction

I would probably die if I ate pizza lol. Everything hurts to eat. What do you eat to stay full besides the mc Donald's stuff?

Where the heck is my restriction

I understand what you're saying. So if things get stuck when I'm "full" why do I still feel hungry. I'm taking Prilosec and I've never really had a problem with head hunger before. Hmm
