  1. My records and support letter are suppose to be sent to Nashville today. With my insurance I just had to have 6 months of dieting in the last twelve months so that helped me get a jump start.
  2. I am going to be getting mine done at Centennial too. I don't have a date yet but I'm going to be seeing Dr. Dyer, I think.
  3. So I just left my pcp and she said my records will be ready to be sent to Nashville tomorrow. One step closer finally. My psychological evaluation is Monday then it is all in my insurance's hands.
  4. I am so glad to see someone around my age that is going though the process around the same time I am. I don't have a date yet but hopefully will in the next few weeks. How hard was it to get everything done to get your date? I haven't had too many problems yet but I still have my psych evaluation to face next week.
  5. I have cigna through state of tn employee and I'll have to pay 1300 out of pocket
  6. That's exactly what I thought. I wasn't going to pay 50 dollars every two weeks to not get the surgery done after the 6 months. The new pcp, it wasn't even a question. As soon as I told her what I was wanting to do she was 2 steps ahead of me. My first visit with her she was doing ekgs, xrays, and blood work to make sure the surgeon gets everything he needs.
  7. My old pcp was crazy! I went to her and told her i was starting the process and she was going to have to write a letter of approval and she basically point blank said she wouldnt. She wanted me to keep a food journal and come see her every 2 weeks for 6 months and then decide if i needed surgery. I've been there and done that, tried every diet under the sun. Safe to say i didn't go back 2 weeks later, I found a new pcp that wants me to have the surgery done by march at the latest!
  8. Lol that's the plan. She's just going to have to accept it because I'm not changing my mind again.
  9. They haven't called me stupid yet but they have tried to talk me out of it. I think her problem is she can't have the surgery done and expects everyone else to suffer because of it
  10. I feel like that is everyone's problem that is going against me. Thanks for the advice!
  11. Thanks so much. I know this is the right decision, just nerves i guess.
  12. This is a great idea! Awesome way to pay for new clothes when I can finally go shopping too.

  14. Ok so I feel like I'm trying to stall the process from fear of failing I guess. I've been researching surgery for over 2 years now and finally took the next step, found a surgeon and a doctor that wants me to have the surgery done. I actually have my psychological evaluation the 14th of this month. I guess I'm just afraid of what's to come. I'm 22 years old and have been overweight my entire life. I have never seem myself skinny or even close to a normal size other than pictures from when I was 2 or 3 years old. I'm excited to have the surgery but I guess since I don't know what to expect I'm fearing the unexpected. Maybe I'm just freaking myself out over nothing but it's a scary thought that 6 months or a year from now I'm going to be a completely different person when I look in the mirror. My family is pretty much split down the middle as support. My dad has been pushing me to do this for a while but my mom is skeptical because she thinks I'm going to change and be a different person all together. It just feels like it's happening so fast. I went to see my new pcp and she wants to try to have everything sent in to have the surgery done by the end of February or early in March. I know this is the best thing for me I'm just freaking myself out and need someone to bring me back down to earth. Lol
  15. Alright thanks! I'm going to start working on it. I still don't have a date yet I think that's part of my problem with quitting because I'm stressing out so much.
  16. Ok I've done research and haven't found anything about smoking(maybe just not looking at the right place). Do you have to quit smoking to have the surgery done period or does it depend on the surgeon? Also can you start again after a certain time? I'm aware I probably will have to quit, I'm just wondering if I do will I ever be able to start again?
  17. I'm excited to see all these bones that I've never seen. Lol. Who cares if people think I'm crazy for showing them off!
