Unbesleevable

I have been pretty open about it...I will be sleeved on the 21st of Feb and felt if I told those close to me it will help to hold me accountable. I manage a team of 11 folks and we are really close and they will notice the changes without a doubt. I haven't had the best at home support as my husband and mom are against the surgery but my coworkers are very supportive which has helped me tremendously. I also am now figuring out a good response for outsiders who will notice the weight loss...the magic beans answer by Butterbean seems plausible no matter what you decide stand by it and keep your head up. The best is yet to come!

Hey guys, I'm being sleeved on the 21st of this month and I have a question about the goal weight I should aim for.my doctor has not set an expectation yet although I haven't had my preop appt yet. Anywho I looked up the ideal weight for my height and was shocked to see it was between 131-160 lbs. I don't want to set my expectation to high and really am a realist. My stats are 29 years old 5 feet 9 inches and currently weigh 276 with a bmi of 42. I was planning to shoot for 180 lbs but should I aim lower? Looking for someone with similar stats who can tell me what there goal is or what they were advised. Of course I will ask my nut and Dr this week but curious to hear from others.

Thanks for all the feedback guys...I spoke to my Dr at My pre OP appt and he said 180 was a good goal to aim for and if it ends up being less than great! So excited to get this journey underway! Its almost here!

Hello to all my fellow February sleevers! Feb. 21st here! I'm not required to do all liquids but must do Atkins diet two weeks before beginning on the 7th. Pre op appt on the 8th followed by surgery on the 21st @10am! So many emotions going on right now but I know this is the best decision for me!

Hey guys, Question for anyone who had experienced dumping syndrome prior to VSG surgery....how is it now after surgery? I had gall bladder removal surgery almost 3 years ago and the dumping syndrome has never gone away. I have miserably been putting up with it and have gradually just come to accept it as part of my existence. I know its supposed to be minimal with sleeve patients but I was wondering if anyone out there had it prior to surgery due to gall bladder removal and if it gets better or worse after VSG. My surgery is on 2~21 so I'm just soaking up info on every aspect from this wonderful site.

Hey Emilee, Sorry to hear u are still waiting...my best advice is to wait until Monday since yesterday they didn't have it and today its pending. Seems ur surgeons office may have not sent it in when they said. So I would prob just wait till Monday...know that's not gonna help with the waiting but just think in three short days you will know hopefully. We all know how fast the weekend goes by...lol. Keep us posted...sending positive vibes your way! :-)

Dont get frustrated! No i didnt have to do anything...approved the first go around...call BCBS yourself if u dont hear anything by thurs....im sure you will have the same outcome as me and be on to the next phase...pre op and surgery!

Hey guys! This is my first time posting but I have been stalking this forum for months....sooooo much great info here. I was just approved today!!! I have a surgery date of 2/21 at 10am. I am nervous, scared and excited all wrapped into one. Ready to begin this lifelong journey and get to a new me. I look forward to all of us doing this journey together.
