playlikeworldchamps got a reaction from LisaT678 in Fab 40's shout out
I am 47, 4 kids (21,19,13,11) and married for 23 years. was sleeved on march 13 in NJ and am down 13 lbs in 15 days and 30 overall since Xmas.
I am in puréed stage now but 2 tsp make me stuffed!
I glad I found this group as I always feel so much older than the many 20-something's getting sleeved.
As for skin, 3 of my babies were well over 9 lbs and one was 11-11 (no c-sects!) so I am already resigned to being saggy everywhere and having slinkys for boobs!

I am at 2 weeks post op. it has been pretty easy. went back to work after 5 days.
had some trouble with liquids at first. could not drink much Water so drank diet snapple (on plan). now I can drink water. I need to work on Protein. only getting about 40 a day but I have a lot of restriction it seems to can only eat so much. thank goodness for premiere Protein Shakes at SAMs. but even those I split over into 3 to finish one. just started puréed today. could only eat 1 oz and was stuffed. I am now getting about 450-500 cals a day.
oh and btw down 12 pounds in those 2 weeks. not a crazy amount like some people get but I am very happy. it will probably slow as I can eat more.

That's Awesome! I know you are so excited!! I haven't scheduled my sleeve yet, still going through my last clearance, but I have to lose a bit of weight before hand. This is what my dietician gave me to go by:
    PRE-SURGICAL liquid DIET

Start date:1 week before your surgery date (unless told otherwise by your surgeon)

    · Drink 3 - 4 Protein drinks per day. (Refer to pages 22-25.)

    · Include 6 servings per day from the following food choices:

o 1 cup skim milk, ½% milk or 1% milk

o 1 cup Tomato juice or regular V-8â juice

o ½ cup plain oatmeal, Cream of Wheatâ or Cream of Riceâ, plain grits

    o 4 oz. sugar-free pudding

    o 6 oz. light yogurt

    o ½ cup unsweetened applesauce

    o Raw vegetables

    · Drink Water or sugar-free beverages as needed during the day such as Water, broth, Crystal-Lightâ, sugar-free Jell-Oâ, decaffeinated coffee or tea.

    · Note: It is okay to use sugar substitutes (Splendaâ, Equalâ, Sweet-N-Lowâ, Truviaâ) during any stage of your diet, before or after surgery. Cinnamon is allowed in your hot Cereal.

2 days before your surgery date:
Choose Protein Drinks, sugar-free pudding, skim milk, plain oatmeal, Cream of Wheatâ or Cream of Riceâ, plain grits, light yogurt, tomato juice, V-8 juice
No applesauce or raw vegetables allowed
Continue with above listed serving sizes

The day before your surgery date:
Choose water, apple juice, white grape juice, white cranberry juice, chicken or beef broth, Gatoradeâ, Jell-Oâ, popsicles, decaffeinated coffee or tea.
    NOTHING RED!!
Sip liquids throughout the day. Aim for 64 ounces of Fluid (unless you have been told otherwise).

You should have nothing by mouth after midnight the night before surgery.
If you are instructed to take medications the morning of surgery, do so with only small sips of water.
Hope this helps!! Good luck, I will keep you in my prayers
