  1. When I was making my decision I was scare sh!less about going to Mexico to have this done which is why I really preferred at that time to go with Aceves. Now that Aceves no longer offers the payment plan I can't afford the 10' date='500 price tag. That being I'm going to use a quote from my dad "That sometimes in life decisions get made for you" and this was one of those times. So I'm excited, putting my trust in God that he will guide Dr. Garcia's hand I'm my surgery, and hoping for the best![/quote']

Dr. Aceves is charging 10,500 now? I was sleeved by him in December in paid 8,750.

ETA: Oops! I see you were a revision.

  2. I don't mean to put anyone down but when people post that they have lost in excess of 100 lbs in such short periods' date=' it makes me angry. I wonder why them and not me??? I want to know if I'm doing something wrong and yet I know I'm following my protocol 100%. I just had to post because I don't come on here daily because of this reason. I guess I'm just jealous and petty. Anyone else feel like me???[/quote']

Everybody is so different and you really can't compare anybody else's journey to yours. Would I have loved to lose over 100 pounds since my surgery? Of course! Am I happy to have lost 55 pounds since 12/20? Heck yes! Just follow your plan, focus on your successes, and the magic will happen!

  3. Hi all -

I'm having surgery in TJ with Dr. Aceves on April 1st and traveling alone. To those who travelled alone -

    How was your experience?

Were you miserable and wishing constantly that you had support?

I also went alone to Dr. Aceves and I was just fine. A friend was going to go with me but at the last minute was unable to due to work obligations. Once I got there I was glad she hadn't come because I wouldn't have wanted to worry about her (was she bored? was she having fun? was she comfortable at night? was she warm? was she cold? did she have enough to do to keep busy? was she getting enough to eat/drink? etc.) and I was able to focus on myself and doing what I needed to do to heal and be comfortable.

You will get to know your fellow sleevers during the pre-op stuff you have to do and once you all go to the hotel you may find yourself dining with them like I did. You will check in on them and they will check in on you - so you will have that support. Plus, I found that I got extra visits from both Aceves and Campos since I was alone.

If I needed anything (lights on/off, door open/closed, etc.) the nurse was there within seconds.

    You'll do great!

  4. At last check a week ago' date=' I've lost a total of 56 pounds. I'm below 300 for the first time in a long time. I have had issues with my Iron levels and now my Vitamin D is low. Unfortunately, both make you tired, lucky me! I haven't been exercising as much as I would like to because my energy is so low some days. I'm fighting my second bad cold since surgery now, awesome. I have enough snot for 3 people. Hopefully it will pass soon.[/quote']

Nice loss! Hope you get those vitamin levels up soon and feel better! :)

  5. Costco's great for their frozen salmon. Comes individually packaged' date=' and one piece is two meals for me. The tilapia comes the same way . Great products[/quote']

I bought some fresh wild cod at costco last weekend and ended up returning it because there was a (live!) parasite in the tray. I almost died.
