I was sleeved on 12/28/12 and I do the same thunder when full. Sometimes it is not until the one bite too much though. I am wondering if this will continue further out after surgery.

I specifically chose to have the sleeve over the RNY because my Dad died from gastric cancer 6 years ago. I did not want to leave the possibility that a tumor could form in that remaining blind pouch (remaining stomach). Ultimately my sleeve will be the tool to help me get to a healthier and more active lifestyle. Best of luck with your decision.

Thank you both for your replies. I will try some gas x strips. I have been taking Prilosec since surgery. Knowing that this has happened to someone else in comforting.

So I have kind of a silly question. I was sleeved on 12/28 and have been feeling pretty good. I went home the day after surgery. The only complication was an undiagnosed hiatal hernia that was repaired during my sleeve operation. I have been on clears since the day after with the exception of an Isopure zero carb shake once a day. I am getting between 48 -64 oz. per day.
So beginning yesterday I noticed an increased in noises and aches in the upper abdomen. Not pain that I would take pain med for just uncomfortable, kinda a like I am hungry.
I am so frustrated right now and trying to convince myself that it is just part of the process and it won't be like I was pre-sleeve hungry all the time.
If anyone else has experienced this or can speak to whether this is a transition thing please do. I am at a loss tonight.

Hoping everyone who was sleeved yesterday is recovering well. My operation went well, had an undiagnosed hiatal hernia that my surgeon fixed as well since he was in there anyway. Yesterday was a bit rough until they got a pain medication that would work for me. I was up and walking about 4 hours after surgery had just ice chips until this am.
Started sips slowly this morning. Things have been going well so far. No nausea today and since I kept my sips down I was able to come home around 2pm.
Take care everyone!!

Wishing everyone who is being sleeved tomorrow a restful sleep tonight. I head to the hospital myself at 6am PST and will be sending prayers and positive energy out to everyone.

I was excited to see several people sharing the same surgery date as myself. Even though we are miles apart, I will have some comfort knowing that there are other people out there on Friday morning feeling the same anticipation and excitement as we start a new journey. Best wishes and positive thoughts to everyone as we move though the last few hours before surgery.

Hi!!
I am scheduled for my VGS on the same day. I can understand the jitters as I am having some as well. Positive thoughts to you and know that it will only get better on the other side. Best of luck on S-day on Friday!!! I will be thinking about you as I go in too.

Hi,
I have been lurking hear a little while and learning so much from everyone's stories. I am scheduled for 12/28 for my VGS and am so excited yet nervous as well. I am an RN and while I know what to expect surgically, I can't seem to calm the nerves. I know this is what I want. I have worked hard to get approved as we all do. I just want to be able to take a deep breath and relax. Lol... No such luck...
Happy Holidays to everyone and positive thoughts to everyone who is starting their new journey!!!

How much colace do you recommend? I am doing the Miralax already and it isn't quite doing the job by itself.
