I have been fortunate...no stalls and getting close to onderland which I have not seen since 2009. I have read stalls are common and some people gain then will have a nice drop. So be patient get your fluids and Protein in and give it time. Sent from my iPad: Sleeved 4/24/2013 by Dr. Farrell @ UNC Hospital---Started: 239lbs--Goal: 150lbs--Current: 203.5 lbs

My first 3 weeks post op I struggled getting 50 gms protein and at least 32 oz of fluid each day. I can confirm it takes awhile and don't push yourself too hard. I am 7 weeks out and can now hit my fluid and protein intake markers. My calorie count is around 600-700 per day and I lose about 2 lbs a week. Good luck and keep reading these threads! why do I feel so hungry
ajeeprider replied to devonmae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have really bad reflux since I have had the surgery. I have been put on 80 mg of Prilosec with divided doses of 40 am and 40 in the pm. Also I take a Zantac in the pm as well. Before this I felt hungry all the time after my second post op week. Then in my 3 rd week post op the severe reflux came on strong and I started taking the meds as I just described. I no longer feel hungry unless I go greater than 3 hours with out food. I believe it's the increased acid you produce in your tummy that makes you hungry. My meds have helped a lot. I am now 7 weeks post op and down 35 lbs, My reflux is better. Sent from my iPad: Sleeved 4/24/2013 by Dr. Farrell @ UNC Hospital---Started: 239lbs--Goal: 150lbs--Current: 203.5 lbs -
Unfortunately 3 weeks post my surgery....my GERD came back worse than ever.. I went to the Pharmacist who discouraged tums, because it causes rebound reflux. So not sure if your pain is reflux, but both my surgeon and Pharmacist suggested against tums. I doubled my Prilosec and take Zantac twice a day now. It's better but I am still having issues at 7 weeks out. Sent from my iPad: Sleeved 4/24/2013 by Dr. Farrell @ UNC Hospital---Started: 239lbs--Goal: 150lbs--Current: 205lbs

$25000 Surgery Cost, what did you pay?
ajeeprider replied to NewYear'sSleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I finally got all my bills for the surgery, hospital bills, surgeons bill, anesthiologist bill, lab bill, radiologist bill. The hospital cost about 26,000 which I have to pay nothing because I met my out of pocket expenses for that. My other bills I had to pay a total of $400 for co-insurance. I have really good insurance but I pay a lot each month for it! Sent from my iPad: Sleeved 4/24/2013 by Dr. Farrell @ UNC Hospital---Started: 239lbs--Goal: 150lbs--Current: 207lbs -

Any experience this? For two days I have been battling nausea up to 4 hours after consuming anything but Water. Because of that I am not eating as much. Hoping tomorrow will be different. I have been eating slow, taking small sips ( still in purée) . I had to break down and take a Zofran to make the nausea sensation go away this evening....and I am feeling extremely tired. Anyone worried about being "too skinny"?
ajeeprider replied to alyshac's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Better than worrying about being to fat! But seriously no! I have never gotten any smaller than a 6 and I was 12 years old. I am waiting for the fat lady to let the skinny lady emerge! Has anyone had problems with previous scar tissue when they had their surgery?
ajeeprider replied to Someonefab's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had a tummy tuck and two other laproscopic abdominal procedures through my belly button before I had my VST....I had no problems. They actually reused my belly button scar for this surgery. It gave me no problems and healed the fastest with NO pain. Can't say the same for two of my other new incisions. My sentiments exactly! I was a Krispy Kreme donut addict....like a crackhead to cocaine! Hubbie bought some in the house and I was not remotely interested! Now that's amazing. In the old days...I would eat 8 in one sitting so something has changed.....Lord let it be like that forever! Down 180 pounds [before and after pictures]
ajeeprider replied to Fiddleman's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
OMG! Your transformation is awesome! Thank you for sharing and encouraging. I can't wait to see how I look in a year. I went into my office today for the first time in 4 weeks and people noticed I had trimmed down. But they were afraid to say much more because I have been on medical leave and they don't know why.....so I think they are thinking something not so good has happened! FYI, I am schedule for an EGD now cause I am still battling nausea. Had to stop my purée foods cause my reflux has gotten worse and I am so nausated. So back to fluids until Tuesday! Just not hungry any more.....feeling awful! I was doing so well....did not expect this. No fever or pain unless I eat food. Nausea no vomiting. Zofran is becoming my best friend. But sometimes it doesn't help.....makes me sad to be dealing with this at 4 weeks. Only good thing at the Dr today is I am down 30 lbs since surgery. I am 51 and wish I could have done this in my 40s. But I am so happy I have done this....even though I am not always comfortable at 4 weeks post op, I still feel it was the best decision I could have made for me!
