  1. I am 16 days post-op (surgery on Dec. 17). I am wondering how long everybody stayed swollen? I still am very bruised on my abdomen where the hole was for the instrument. Even though I had to bleeding complication (under All Things Dr. Ponce in the Mexico thread). I just still feel so swollen and sore. Today is the first day I mights actually get in an entire 33 oz. bottle of Water and 60+ grams Protein. It has been rough getting all of this in. Anyway' date=' just curious as to when I won't feel so sore and swollen? Thanks![/quote']

Yes... Extremely swollen. I was sleeved December 28....I am having a couple of issues with swelling and two of my port sites. I'm hoping that my stomach will deflate soon. I look like a little pumpkin.

  2. I have my surgery in the morning at 9 am. What type if problem did u have? I'm nervous because I haven't followed my pre-op diet as I should.

Hi Jenny28379...don't be nervous. It was strictly personal. Nothing to do with the pre-op diet. Rescheduled for tomorrow. I too fell off the wagon a few times with the pre-op diet, but it's a NEW DAY. Praying for a speedy recovery.

  3. I recently found an iPad app called "See Me Get Fit" (not sure if it is also available for iPhone). Basically' date=' you enter your weight then you take a picture so that you can visually track your weight loss. Perhaps best of all, you can password protect the app so that only you can access it. I'm really looking forward to seeing my progress on it and I thought it was cool enough to share.[/quote']

Just downloaded the app. Love it!

  4. Thank you all for answering me and showing the support. Here is another one for you' date=' I am now afforded the opportunity to go to Dr Aceves instead of Garcia, should I do it? Or should I just stick with the plan?[/quote']

You are in that oh so familiar flip/flop stage. That decision will have to come from you. At some point everything will make sense and you will have peace about your decision. I chose Dr. Garcia and his team. I'm very comfortable and finally at peace with my decision. Best of luck to you.

  5. So I am paying my deposit tomorrow to Ready4achange' date=' Dr. Garcia and purchasing my airfare. I am so scared I'm making a mistake I have a 4 month old baby, a 14 yr old son and a husband who adores me fat or thin. I'm so worried that something will happen to me then what will my boys do? I guess if I was having it here I would feel better, but complications could happen anywhere. It just worries me because I had the band for 6 yrs and I don't know how much scar tissue I have and it seems revisions have a higher likely hood for leaks. Then I'm scared about flying what if I get a blood clot or the altitude messes with my stomach. Plus I'm gonna be alone and that sucks. I'm so scared!!! Please god help me make the eight decision![/quote']

Scheduled to have the surgery December 26. I paid my deposit today and chose Dr. Garcia as my physician. I'm soooooo excited. Hope to see you in Mexico. This is a bit frightening for me too, but I'm keeping my eye on the prize.

Hang in there and try not to second guess your decision.

  6. Awwww' date=' thanks! I started it for my family and friends to keep them posted-and also the new friends I made from TJ....all of it is true, and I have no problem being frank about whatever so you know you re goign to get the full ins and outs with me. lol[/quote']

You are so funny. Thanks for carving out a pathway for us pre-ops. Keep us informed. Headed to Mexico for my surgery December 26 with Dr. Garcia. Can't wait....NEWDAY

  7. Thank you so much!! Yea I lost a lot of the thickness of my hair. It started at about 8 months out. I was taking Biotin and only washed my hair once per week' date=' didn't help. It wasn't falling out from the scalp, so I didn't have bald spots, but the ends were shedding like crazy. I cut about 10inches off. It's growing back thick & healthy now. I think it's because I'm eating more.[/quote']

Glad to hear that you were able to get your hair back on track. Any regrets about having the surgery? Surgery scheduled for the 26th of December. My Christmas gift to myself. Debated too long about my decision. Keep up the good work!!!????
