    Christmas Day 2012

Today is Christmas Day. I feel so blessed to have my family. This year I feel so blessed to have had my sleeve done. I am now 5 weeks out and feel great. I am almost at my Phase I goal. Hopefully I will be at 199 tomorrow or the next day. I never thought that I would get so excited to be at 199 but I am. I began soft foods this week and so far so good. No issues. It is hard for me to not drink with my meal but I am getting used to it. I had to go shopping for new jeans yesterday. My old ones were falling down. What a great problem to have. I feel so good in my new clothes. With every milestone it is going to get better and better. I am looking so forward to what 2013 has in store for me.

    Almost at 1st goal

I had my surgery on 11/26 and I am doing well. I set some early goals and my first goal was to get to 199 pounds. I have not been below 200 since I was around 38 years old and that was 20 years ago. I am currently at 202.5 and if all goes well will be at that phase 1 goal this week. What a Christmas present . I went back to work last week and it went pretty well. I am definitely more tired easily. Have to work on building my stamina. One day I did not get enough protein and I was doing a lot of walking and I really felt like I was going to pass out. I have to concentrate more on myself and timing. Overall, I am so proud of myself. I feel like I have a new lease on life. This has definitely been a to me from me Christmas gift this year. Merry Christmas!

    surgery tomorrow, any advice?

Best of luck on your journey. My best advice is to recognize that this is a journey and you need to follow the program directives. It is not easy, but it is very achievable. I had my surgery on 11/26 and have not really had any problems. I am down 18.6 pounds. Yeah!
  6. Way to go. Age is relative. Having self esteem and getting healthy is good for all ages.

Week 16 Post op - First Gain :(

Great information. Thanks for sharing. I am 1 1/2 weeks out from surgery and have lost 17.1 pounds. I am a movie person and have never went to the movie without having popcorn. When I regain eating, I will definitely remember your blog and I know it will help me to make the right decision. You are awesome. Keep sharing.
  8. Way to go! You are a role model. Keep it up. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you continue this journey.

    I have so many questions

I had my surgery on 11/26 and I am doing great. As of today, i have lost 17 pounds. I feel like I have gone through an epiphany. I know that there will be good days and bad days but I know I did the right thing for me. No one ever said this was going to be easy. Work through the process. Listen to the rules established based on a lot of clinical evidence. Step back and review your goals and what you want to accomplish. Maybe you need to get into a support group ASAP since you are not part of a program in your community. Please know that I keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

    7 Day Update

I have never blogged before but I thought I would try this to help me stay on track and stay motivated. Like most of us on this site, I have struggled with weight for a long time. I was really proud of myself because I lost over 60 pounds on my own over a 5 year period but I got to a place where I could not get below 232 pounds. I finally decided to make a huge decision that will affect me the rest of my life and I feel so blessed that I finally made that decision. I spent the last 3 months going through my pre-program and I am so happy that they make you do that because to be honest, I probably would not have done that on my own. I learned a lot. I joined the Centennial Medical Center-Nashville program in June 2012. It is such an outstanding program giving you support, assistance, education and in the most organized fashion. Dr. Doug Olsen is my surgeon. By far he does not accept any excuses. He shows his support but you always knows where he stands - he wants you to succeed. I finally had my surgery on 11/26/12 and today I am 7 days out. I am so proud of myself. I have followed everything 100%. I learn new things every day. I am nervous that I may be missing something but I am staying so focused, My post op pain has been very well controlled. I have had no pain medication since last Friday. Remarkable! I went to church with my daughter yesterday and enjoyed the time so much. Today I drove for the first time and had no problems. My main concern is making sure that I am getting all of my protein. Everyday it gets easier and I really do not mind it at all. I really like Unjury better than the Nectar product. For 7 days out I am so pumped. I have lost 14 pounds thus far. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I move forward on this jourey.
  11. Hang in there. I am only one week out but I have a friend that did here's around you and she had a fews days of not using but is now back on track. I will keep you in my prayers. I know that has to be frustrating.
