  1. I go to a lot of business dinners & mixers; I'll be sipping crystal light heehee
  2. I was also told a year but that my dr understansd around the holidays you may want to have ONE glass of wine or a beer. I'm so thirsty all the time; I think trying to drinking alcohol would be bad for me. I got some stuff to flavor my water (lime and lemon) but I thinkc rystal like actaully has alcohol flavored drink mix now that is still zero cal, zero sugar. I might try some of those
  3. Ive' always had "cankles" but I'm getting ANKLES; so I told my husband that one of my goals will be to be able to actually wear an anklet. He said he he's going to get me one. It will be a while before I'm ready to try one on but when I do get one you guys will be the first (or second after the Hubby lol) to know! The pendant is lovely; enjoy it Hun!
  4. You look great andi love your dress
  5. It's been a few days; how did it go at the lawyer's office? I hope you to feeling better soon; please keep us posted. Take care!!
  6. The non-hunger is AMAZING isn't it?? People say 'What do you mean you never gethu ngry?' ummm.. i never get hungry LOL I don't know how else to say that. IWAS looking forward to the soft food just for a change up from JUST liquids; but I'm fine for now I think
  7. i got bumped up to soft/mushy foods on Thursday and can't keep any of that down; with the exception of applesauce & thin creamed Soups. So I'm sticking with my liquids for a while longer. I got the strawberry sorbet flavor of the unjury Protein powder it's so good. It's takes me all day to get 8ozs down lol. I was so excited to move to the soft foods stage lol. Oh well
  8. Great to meet you too! I haven't gone to any support grioups yet; with my surgery being on 12/10 it seemed like Christmas was RIGHT here by the time I was up and about. Maybe after the holidays. I found out a lady I know is having surgery in January so we're buddies. It's nice to have people around close
  9. I had a coworker who was constantly telling how scary and bad the surgery was going to be and that she "wished I wouldn't do it". She's never had WLS surgery so I'm not sure where those ideas were coming from; but I just smiled and kept on. I think sometimes people THINK they are showing that they are concerned and that they care about you but it just comes across wrong.NurseMeg your boyfriend's mother is a different story though. That just seems plan out rude to me. And you look beautiful in your profile picture to me!
  10. Hey what does your dr allow? I'm cleared to eat soft/mushy foods as of yesterday and that didn't go well. I mainly drink Isopure, water, unsweetend hot or iced tea and chicken or vegetable broth. I was able to keep some applesauce do this morning (YAY!)
  11. 16 pounds in 17 days???!!! You go MaryDrew! That's excellent. You should not feel discouraged at all--you are doing GREAT. And don't worry about when you start to eat foods; you will only be able to get in a few bites here and there. Cheer up Honey you are doing and amazing job!
  12. Okwell i didnt find anything in my notes about supplements or Vitamins that that firm skin BUT i did have in my notes that Biotin is excellentfor hair and nail growth as well as healthier skin. So you might try that. I have been taking the biotin since about a week prior to surgery; it sure grows nails! I think whoever suggested doing curls was probably right as well as my husband telling me to do squats for my thighs. Good luck everyone.
  13. Oh yes, my daughter will be with us always. She is VERY active and FAST; so i need to get in shape to chase this one around!
  14. Hello! My daughter is 12 and has autism. She's non-verbal for the most part but she has some vocabulary. Part of my reasoning for having this surgery was to be able to be here for her. Getting healthy and active; that's my goal
  15. No problem! My insurance doesn't cover "excess skin removal" so I'm doing everything I can on my own and just PRAYING

AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Let us know what the in-laws say!
  17. I was just sleeved on 12/10; but I'm sure hoping it works. My husband said squats would help with my thighs as well so I'm starting that tonight. I feel like they told us some vitamin or supplement pre-op that helps also...I just can't recall right now; when I get home I'll check my notes and let you guys know!
  18. I was sleeved on the 10th; it took me 2 days to drink an entire cup of water LOL. Doing pretty well now; I am drinking a lot of broth and hot tea. Hoping to get moved to soft/musy foods tomorrow after my appt. It's not that I'm hungry; it will just be nice to not drink EVERYTHING. Good luck to you
  19. I read that using a lotion with vitamin E and Keratin helps firm skin up. I haven't been able to find one that has keratin in it but there are several "firming" lotions with vitamin E in them. I bought St Ives brand and have been using it 3-4 times a day because I'm worried about my arms and thighs.
  20. Yeah, i never had motion sickness before! That was a surprise. Today was much better! How are you doing?
  21. Yeah those crazy dreams....I couldn't take it LOL. I went back to work today and it's the first time I have been out since I got home last Wednesday; I discovered that driving makes me sick to my stomach. I called the dr and he called in sublingual med for me so i can drive and not throw up all the way in. But I reallyc an't complain about anything else. I'm SO looking forward to the soft/mushy food stage!!!
