  1. Has anyone tried the pure Protein drinks from trader joes? Is the flavor similar? I am considering buying this as well, I just usually have issues with vanilla flavored anything. Maybe I'll go 3 and 1. chocolate and vanilla. Is this a permanent deal?
  2. I stopped taking meds after 1 bag of morphine, so by the second night in the hospital. It really depends on your pain threshold. I have a high tolerance for pain, and I feel as though that really helped me get through it without taking the lortab aka liquid Vicodin. The morphine was making me nauseous in the hospital at first and I forget what anti nausea med it was that they gave me in the IV when my mouth would Water up and I would get that bubbly "I'm about to throw up" feeling in my chest.

    alcohol

I tried shots, burned way too much. Cranberry and vodka. Or in my case, double shots of vodka. I logged every single calorie of my cranberry and vodka drinks in that night, and coming out around 500-600 calories in just alcohol alone was not one of my proudest moments. I had factored the alcohol in before hand and tweaked my diet accordingly but still. I have not had the urge to drink that much since. I suppose I had to get it out of my system. Kind of like my few bites of bread that I no longer crave either lol. As long as you don't make it a habit, one night if getting **** face wasted isn't going to kill you. If you start hardcore partying, you would face some serious problems. And yes, I had as much fun as I did before. Though the drunk feeling was a bit different. It's hard to explain. I can't drink as much as I could pre op though. I did keep up very well though, but looking back; other helped me drink my drinks, and I couldn't finish one. I instantly felt the alcohol though. Like I drank a few sips, and under 5 minutes later, I could feel it kicking in. 1 drink later and I was buzzing

    Vomiting, post op 9weeks, vsg

    What are you eating?
  5. You may want to be very careful with a pregnancy so early post op. as everyone has said, you are not getting enough nutrients to support both yourself and a baby. Pretty much your body will be fighting the baby for nutrients. And who do you think will win? That's what both my NUT and surgeon told me as I had many concerns about my abilities to have children post op. I think some people may have phrased it in a different way, but this is the main issue: nutrition. If you search in the pregnancy section you'll find many people who got pregnant early post op. they would probably be your best resource.
  6. I think whoever messaged her ran her off VST.
  7. I thought it was good too. Sure, you were a little free with the love, but being new to the dating scene, I would think that it'd be trial and error for a while until you got into the swing of things, and what works for you. Don't let people judge you. F what they think, at least you were brave enough to post it for all to see and you wanted feedback.
  8. Depending on your surgeon, you may not have this option. So require you to stop birth control (mine did) Take someone like a mom, sister, or best friend who would be willing to wipe you. I had my period and my step mom wiped me once and the nurses did too but they were shy about it vs my step mom who got me super dry. By day 2/3, I was wiping okayish. It's day 1/2 that you can't bend too much

    I failed my sleep study

Because its mild sleep apnea, there is a high likelihood of them getting rid of the machine in the future. If you have severe, it's understandable that you might end up with sleep apnea for life

    I failed my sleep study

It gets better though. Post op you'll be able to get rid of your machine eventually

    I failed my sleep study

I originally was to be sleeved in August. I too failed my sleep study and I also have mild sleep apnea. I ended up getting sleeved in November. At the time I was really discouraged, but I look at it as a blessing in disguise because it allowed me to really evaluate and appreciate the sleeve. I got my head in the game and here I am now.

    is bad breath normal

Ketosis. And I wish I could say it gets better. I'm 3 months out and I carry mints because my breath will smell funky at awkward times. It is a good sign though

    Lipo and VSG

Unless a plastic surgeon is doing your op, I'd say no. You should wait to have lipo till you're well post op IMO. what if you lipo your butt and it shrinks nicely but your stomach stays round and you go back under again later vs waiting till after to see that your butt is pretty shapely but your stomach needs the lipo.

    Alcohol/drinks

Alcohol for me goes down crazy good. I can have 2 bud light and be super buzzing. At almost 300 calories for those 2, it was dinner and my snacks that day but not problems with the bubbles. Vodka cranberries were my fav pre op and my go to post op. haven't had one in almost 2 months, went crazy when I did though and had a lot of cranberries with double shots of kettle one. I surprisingly wasn't as drunk as I thought I would be though. But I use to hold my liquor very well pre op so maybe that was it? Or maybe I was super drunk and just didnt notice lol.
  15. I almost never weigh myself it drives me crazy as well. How I look and how my clothes fit matter more to me than numbers. Also: is your period coming up? I too gain before it.

    Skin Firming

You can try the creams and wraps. Genetics, age, and skin elasticity pretty much determine whether or not your skin will firm up or not. But, if you have money to burn giving products a try, just keep track of what does and does not work as this question comes up a lot

    stinkin' period...

I couldn't bend over and wipe post op, I started my period day before surgery. My step mom put gloves on, grabbed a wad of toilet paper, and made me feel dry! Lol

3 months out - incision pain

    Why is that?
  22. Odd question, my big main incision still stings sometimes. Is that normal even at 3 months?

    Eating before surgery

I went on a binge a month pre op, i lost my weight and got my date 3 weeks out. since i know you have kaiser as well, so do i, my surgeon said stop eating 6pm the day before. my last meal: grilled cheese and small pink lemonade from in n out. i think fondly to my grilled cheese at times. Getting the actual date really made me commit as i was pretty flakey with my diet before that. I sometimes mourn my old big portion sizes. Not that I don't enjoy the sleeve or my current portion size, it's hard when you go out to eat and you have a few bites of the entree and that's it. I'll never regret it, but at the end of the day, the sleeve has changed my life forever and eventually, I won't be a slave to food anymore
