Mine was the 12th... Didn't think the pain would be this bad. Still in the hospital and ready to go home. But i tell you - the pain meds they give me are awesome. Tryin to walk every two hours for about 15 minutes. Haven't passed gas but I feel moving in my sleeve. Not fun.

So tomorrow is D day! Only a few more hours for surgery! Yikes.

Thank you mezzane! I think that's my problem - I have to push the nurse button 6 times before one of them show up an hour and half later.

Been throwing up twice an hour - never felt pain like this before :-((

Sleeved - the throwing up hurts like crap. The nurses mentioned nothing about walking - I asked them but still waiting.

Hello... Can anyone recommend a good protien shake that is low is sugar? Sugar is one of my migraine triggers and I find a lot of these shakes are very high in them. Thanks!

@thenewme32 - if you don't mind sharing what you took for your headaches? I'm in the pre-op stage and I can't take my normal migraine medication because of the aspirin content. They gave me a new prescription to take every 4 hours but the meds wear out after two hour. In migraine hell right now :-((

Going through similar situations where the drs aren't seeing the full picture/process and make no sense most of the time. So I learned to be my own advocate. Constantly reminding them of what has to happen and when. My surgery is now getting delayed 3 days as well. The diet sucks and knowing I have to do it three more days isnt fun - but the worse part is that I can't take my migraine meds because of the aspirin in it and the substitute meds aren't working. Yayyy fun. Only advice I can give is to focus on the positive and just know things happen for a reason and typically these reasons are in your favor. I tell myself it's Gods way to fixing a situation :-) Good luck with it all!!

How did your surgery go with this dr?

Mine is scheduled for 12-12-12 as well. Love the date! But I got a call from my patient advocate yesterday saying we have issues with my insurance approval and my surgery may be delayed :-((

My pre-op endoscope is scheduled for tomorrow - from learning about the precedure - I'm not looking forward to it. Any advise or feedback on your expereice? Thanks!

I picked my date 12-12-12 - thought it would be a cool date to mark this change in my life.

I had my labs done a few weeks ago - surgery scheduled for the 12th - they withdrew the blood from my arm - like they do any other tests. They took about 11 vials full of blood - but nothing that was too painful. You should tell them you want it taken out of your arm vs wrist. If the lab technician is not trained to - ask for another that could. FYI... I have small viens - so I ask them ahead of time to use the children's size needle :-).

I was told to eat no more than a 1000 calories a week before surgery. The day before surgery to limit myself to liquids. Does this sound right? My surgery is Dec 12th.

Thanks all for the feedback. It looks like the pre-op diet differs from person to person and dr to dr. But nonetheless it's all similar.
