Be careful using IUD only post VSG!

So not to be the dissenter here, but since the IUD sits in your Cervix and shape changes to the cervix are prompted by menopause, pregnancy etc..losing a large amount of weight should have no effect on whether the IUD "fits" your cervix..they are all the same size, only the string length differs. I think what you are seeing is an increase in fertility to the point that Birth Control efforts need to be increased. All those fat cells have a ton of estrogen in them so the hormones in the Mirena or the copper in the Paraguard may not be able to keep up. I just wanted to post because I don't think the link is IUDs as a rule and don't want people to run off in a panic getting theirs removed.

    My expirience!

Based on the way this user typed the date I am guessing they are not from the US, so the decoding may take a bit

    Paying Out of Pocket

Actually it does not sound like that at all. I also don't appreciate you judging how much or how little a bonus I earn when you have zero clue what I do. Furthermore, I am not following your logic about bonuses and high insurance costs.

    Paying Out of Pocket

I didn't say my bonus was 25,000. I said I was using my bonus from last year. As for what I do..I earned every penny of my bonus..trust me.

    Paying Out of Pocket

25,000 all in. Surgery, pre op and post op. I am using my bonus from last year to pay. Ironically I work for Kaiser Permanente but they won't pay as I don't meet their requirements. So I find it amusing that I am using their money to do it!

    Hair Loss After Surgery

If you think about what hair is..it is dead Protein. Now also with the life cycle of what you eat it shows up in your hair three to five months later. So your body undergoes a big shock with surgery and the first 2 to 4 weeks it is a struggle to maintain the protein intake...sooo three to five months after surgery..Tada!!! Hair falls out. I have not been sleeved yet but my surgeon said what has worked with his patients is starting the Biotin and zinc supplements at the time of surgery so when hair loss hits it is not as bad. I also have fine and thin hair..I plan to just shave it short and own the new me I know I know women obsess about our hair..but between having a new life and losing hair I know what I would choose
  8. Hi all, I was ready to schedule and then they told me they want me to get a sleep apnea study/test. The surgeons office showed me a flyer for a sleep apnea at home study kit. Anyone ever used one? Easy? Annoying? How much did it cost?

    Guilty- Smoking

I agree..use the patches. I quit on Sunday this past week and the patch has been great. Now I will say keep a lot of gum or sugar free candy on hand. The thing keeping me going is I want my surgery to be successful and quitting smoking is part of that deal!! Hang in there!!

    Kaiser Northern Ca?

I have Kaiser Ohio..they told me I wasn't fat enough to meet referral requirements. We don't have hospitals in Ohio so all the surgery is done with Network Doctors which of course fists Kaiser money. I said screw it and am paying for it on my own.
