    "NOTHING CHANGES"

    Ahhh the definition of insanity
  2. No problem! I had no idea about any of it. My surgeon explained it to me and I fact checked lol! I was never a big plain Water drinker so it didn't matter to me.
  3. There seems to be two types of reactions...one is you feel like you were on a roller coaster and you get that floaty stomach feeling. The second is if the drain is twisted around s bit it burns coming out. I was the second kind and the feeling lasted less than thirty seconds. It takes them all of like four to take the actual drain out. Don't fret!!! I also have a huge adverse reaction to pain but I promise it was not bad at all.

How to get my water in?

Water has a high surface tension which means bad for sleeve. When you break the tension by mixing then sleeve likes
  5. I just noticed a red rash on my left side someone mentioned it might be an allergy to the dermabond glue
  6. Okay a little science here as told to me by my surgeon. Water has a high surface tension, meaning that its barrier to allow it to be broken down is hard. Think of a steel paper clip that floats on the surface. Now your stomach is like the size of a coffee stirrer at this point due to swelling etc. because of the high surface tension it is hard sometimes for the water to be absorbed and gets kind of backed up if that makes sense. So when you dilute water or mix it with something if breaks that high tension and thus can be absorbed faster. Not everyone experiences it but it is one of those side effects that can happen. I always thought Bill Nye the science guy was sexy.

    Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!

I had to drink three bottles. Put it on ice and chug down with a straw. I also recommend some Vasoline after each um wiping? Or you are going to be sore

    Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!

I just want to say I love sugar free Popsicles...that is all
  9. I think the pre-op should be varied as everyone will need different things come surgery day..such as a less fatty liver. It is the post op that I would think should be more consistent.

    Post Sleeve Bucket List :)

The list can contain whatever you desire!!! Tough Mudder is a rigorous boot camp obstacle course challenge lol
  11. I bought the sample pack and found they are yummy. Each has 27 grams of protein and are low calorie and carbs. I mixed it with 6 ounces of skim milk to meet my 30 grams of protein for the day! It wasn't thick at all.

    Post Sleeve Bucket List :)

I like the Victoria Secrets ones!!! I was also thinking of splitting up my weight loss into mini goals. So like at 30 pounds treat myself to a new pair of shoes. At 50 pounds do a spa day..and so on. And although it is far off I definitely want to do something for goal!
  14. Today is 5 days put and physically I feel great..emotionally omg. Big crying fit and argument with my mom this morning. And I am not one to ever show emotions. I have also been colder too.

    Surgeons in Cleveland Ohio?

I am feeling good! Today is 5 days postop and just concentrating on making Fluid and Protein goals plus walking around. Each day gets better! Good luck with your appointment!! He is a great surgeon and will answer any question you have.
  16. My doctor is the same way. He wants me to use this time to relearn how to eat and feel satisfied. I honestly think for me I am better with this tighter restrictions.
  17. I told my boy friend..I discovered what a Shart felt like first hand. I think he laughed until he puked..meh I look at it as all part of the recovery...a week or two of nasty and embarrassing stuff for a lifetime of sexy Each day has gotten better..today I met my protein goal! Came close on liquid but I am okay with being a little off. Unjury chicken soup is the bomb and skim milk got me there today!

    Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!

You are doing nothing wrong. You are pumped full of liquids at the hospital..those take time to work their way out. It is perfectly normal to gain weight after the surgery which is why my doctor said hide the scale. I haven't weighed myself and I am 4 days post op but I know I am still puffy from my rings not fitting right. Hang in there!!!
  19. I need the pain mess at the end of the day to help sleep. Getting up and down during the day from a chair or bed or whatever leaves me very sore at the end of the day. I take one teaspoon of the liquid Percocet I took home with me. Each day gets better!
  20. I am pretty swollen too. Had surgery Tuesday as well.

    Surgeons in Cleveland Ohio?

I second St. Vincent's recommendation. Just got sleeved on 2/12. I loved him and the staff. The rocked!!
  23. I noticed it when I started drinking the protein. I think my mom is a bit freaked out lol..but at least the gas is getting out of there!!! As to the scale..there is NO way I would weigh myself now. I can tell my belly is still a bit bloated. I am not going to weigh myself until my two week follow up with my doctor.
  24. Boy my first day at home was exhausting lol! My only goal was getting in liquids and protein. My doctor told me my goal for the first few days is 48 ounces of liquids and 30gram protein. Next week is again full liquid with 64 ounces liquids and 60 to 80 grams protein. It takes me about 10 minutes to drink an ounce so this is all day job. Anyone have issues with diarrhea? Sorry I know kind of gross...
