  1. I have to agree plus it not that serious to do so much investigation who benefits from this ..I have to say I love your post and I think you bring a lot if truth to the forum .. It's hard for ppl to hear or believe the truth that you speak

How can you decide whats serious to someone else. I had a sister with a surgery date already....that read that lie and changed her mind. Maybe its not serious to you but it was to me.....and GUESS WHAT, I makw a decision on what is serious to me!

  2. Wow...mind blown! If I wasn't done with this forum before' date=' I sure am now. The vultures can fight over the scraps. It's not worth wading through the irrelevant bickering, constant pettiness, and often über sexual exchanges, to get to the substance of these forums. It's truly unfortunate.

Im with you, this may be the worst thing Ive done concerning my sleeve.....JOINING THIS SITE. I have never in my life ran across such childish, know it all, confrontational, irritable, angry, negative people in my life. And its usually the women, please....stop the drama!

  3. Neither he nor the other doctor could confirm this case as it would be a severe violation of HIPPA laws and could lead to a huge lawsuit. Even my original docs office wasn't dumb enough to say I was a patient or discuss my case specifically.

He never said he was asking about her case....we dont even know who her is. Exactly how did you read that into what I said. He said he would contact that office if such a case were open they would know who posted it. Comment on what is,written not what you read into something!

  4. Funny how folks wanna "attack" me for "attacking" someone. In your efforts to "defend" the OP...you engage in the same behavior you accuse me of? Yeah...that makes a lot of since . I don't feel I attacked her..in MY OPINION I think she's lying...that's all

......you arent the only one. My surgeon contacted the office she named so that they could be aware of the post and the accusation. The woman is lying, its just that simple.

  5. I had my 2 month checkup today and showed the original post to my doctor. Dr. King ordered his nurse to pull up the thread and print it....he then told her to contact that office to see if there was such a case there. I asked if they could let me know just because it was a big concern to me. Dr. King said it is completely impossible and he would bet his 40 year career on the impossibility of this being true....again....only she knows the truth.

  6. I must admit. Im VERY SKEPTICAL of her story...HOWEVER...if there's any truth behind it...she needs to get a second medical opinion and possibly legal advice. This website is like any other social networking site. There's much more to people behind the screen...

I have to admit I dont believe a word of that story. I apologize if I am wrong, but if she could eat all that in the hospital the doctor would have checked that before she left. I just dont believe this story.

  7. I did! Lol. I love burgers and want to experiment with sleeve friendly recipes. I do not want to go to mcds for their dried out processed burgers. Ugh. No thanks! Not pre sleeve and not post sleeve! Not all burgers come from mcds nor are they created equal.

I have to admit....the half burger wasnt that good. I did decide because of the people on the blog, to try a turkey burger when I crave burgers....so Im buying some turkey burgers today.

  8. Wow...you folks manage to turn ANY question or conversation into an immature cliquey high school drama' date=' don't you?

Why on earth was there any need to attack someone for volunteering their own experience? It does NOT matter if Dianne38 chooses to eat at McD's once in a while, or enjoy a doughnut. It also doesn't mean she's unhealthy or that she doesn't care about her body. Could she make better choices? Sure. So could almost every American out there, obese or not.

These things are an ingrained part of our culture and if she can use moderation and enjoy them it's her choice. I'd criticize her if she were hopping on here to complain that she's stalled and then shared that she's eating doughnuts and hamburgers. But really? The VERY first response to her was a sarcastic, overly critical snotty one.

No WONDER people don't want to post here. No WONDER people say VST has gotten too negative. And you accuse the lady that was just out-of-the-blue sniped at for sharing her experience of reacting harshly, instead of acknowledging that people here are acting like a bunch of children.

Pathetic. And things I've read about certain people here never having a single positive thing to say seem to ring true - outside of their own little posse of like-minded sharp-tongued people, that is.

I wish you knew how many people needed to hear that.

  9. Ok I can't believe I'm going to try to be the voice of reason here..

But I think that some of us had a serious addiction to certain foods and cannot really eat those things again because they really do make us want more..just by the sure make up of their ingredients. If you can eat one and walk away and that works for you go on. I'm not going to stop you. It's just not something I can do

I didnt think of it that way....i can bite of a donut and walk away, I can eat half a burger and walk away....everybody cant do that. You are so right...thank you

  10. I posted that I ate half a Big Mac and still eat a crispy creme donut if I crave one. Several people gave their opinions.and how I didnt care about my health.....but several more sent me private messages, 11 different people to be exact, that wanted some advice because they had kids and the grazing and snacking was getting the best of them, but were scared to ask for it on this forum because of the tongue lashing some people give when your veer from the HEALTHY path. Everyone is not the same, our needs, wants and lifestyles are different. There are people reading the forum who are intimidated by your perfection....give us who arent as perfect a break.

  11. I think you have anger management issues' date=' not to mention you're just plain rude. If someone can't disagree with you without you resorting to name calling....sheesh. You said there is life after surgery, and made it sound like that life included eating junk food. I just asked the rhetorical question, why does life have to be about eating food that we know is bad for us? That was the kind of thinking that got me to the point I was before surgery, and I can't be the only one.[/quote']

I apologize if I caused any problems....Im an agressive womam but not a mean woman. Please accept my apology.

What you think has no relevance too me but when you tell the truth on this forum its lke throwing a steak in a pen of pitbulls. Your comment was unnessary, I didnt tell anyone else to try it.... I was simply saying dont worry yourself if you indulge every now and then. Yoir comments were rude and implied o am making life threatening decisions because I eat an inhealthy snack. It was infair to me. You dont know me like that.

I was feeling the same way about your comments I felt you were rude and angry....

  15. So true. Butter the bean

Whats true....his comment is way off the point. I said if I crave one I will have one. The comment would pnly be relevent I stated I eat this on a daily schedule. I can assure you that neither of you are any healthier than I am. I teach aerobics 5 days a week....two different times each day the day.... I take no medications besides Vitamins and bioton....Im pretty healthy, even after that killer donut.

  16. People......I didnt say I eat hamburgers and donuts everyday....I said If I crave one or want it Im going to have with out guilt. My God lighten up.....everyone is not as PERFECTLY self controlled as you are. Some of us understand that an indulgence every now then wont end the effects of the sleeve. If it tales total dedication to only healthy foods for you....thats fine, but dont lash out because ot doesnt take that for me.

  17. Dianne38 I respect you for being honest. Not everyone is perfect like these people with so much self control! I understand what you mean by they take it so seriously' date=' you didn't mean that your health is not important. Enjoy your life and be happy![/quote']

Thank you.... I appreciate it. Eating a donut does not make me unhealthy it makes me human...

  18. So eating half a Big Mac is eating healthy? And "life" means eating a Big Mac and Crispy Creme donuts? Or more to the point' date=' is "life" eating what you want, when you want? Maybe life means not being a slave to cravings for crappy food that I used to eat, even half of it.[/quote']

Don't be an idiot....I never said it was my life. I said if I crave one I will have one without feeling guilty.....however because of the sleeve I dont have the cravings....when you read try opening your mind as well....it works. Life is whatever makes you happy.....at 140 with a 24 inch waistline I'm pretty sure that donut won't send me into an unhealthy stage or ruin my life.

  19. I admire honesty as well' date=' although I wouldn't necessarily tell people they're taking WLS wayyy too seriously. The same as I wouldn't tell people I think they're not taking it seriously enough :)[/quote']

I DID NOT SAY they were taking the WLS too serious....I said they are taking the idea of eating something not considered healthy too serious. The surgery isvserious...but eating a fried chicken wing wont kill you neither will a donut, if it does you had other problems than weight.

  20. I personally would support her. Shes already too big. Ive never understood why people wait until they get other medical problems fue to weight to get the surgery. The last resort should not be when you are diagnosed with a life threatening issue. Shes overweight and have tried diets....this is her last resort. If you could change your eating habits on your own you wouldnt need the surgery. The sleeve is what helps to change your eating habits. When she eats something the sleeve doesnt like I promise she will have a mental note to never do that again. In my opinion if she wants it, you should support it. Shes at a wonderful age to gain a new self esteem and live a wonderful healthy life. Why does she have to get any bigger or get sick to have the surgery?
