    Workout

Each doctor is different - I think we were sleeved on the same day (12/26), My doctor has released me to excercise - I have a limit of 20 pounds. He said "listen to your body. If you feel a pinch - STOP and wait another week." I'm doing light weights (3 pounds), treadmill and elliptical - 4 times a week. Doing fine so far. Good luck to you.
  2. Please don't use tanning beds. My daughter has had several melanoma's removed from her face. The sun is not a good friend.

    Stuck food?

Looking for a little advice. I think I have a piece of food stuck at the entrance to my sleeve. I've had an uncomfortable feeling since I ate scrambled eggs last night. I thought it was heartburn but its still there after a Prilosec I've been drinking water .... But still there. Anyone ever have this happen ?

    Surgery Monday 1/21/13

You'll do fine. Just walk as soon as you can and as much as you can. It really makes a difference. Have a positive attitude and you're halfway there I'm three weeks out and doing great. See you on the other side!

    Incisions

I'm 3 weeks out - they have healed but are definitely going to leave scars. Small price to pay for being thin... I'll TAKE IT!!!

    Down 18 pound in 9 days !

    That's amazing! Great job~
  9. I'm just over 3 weeks out and the scale finally started moving again .... DOWN!! As of this morning I'm down 28 pounds. 19 since surgery. I read this forum a lot and when I hit the stall - I didn't panic. I just kept drinking my water - working on my protein and excercising. I don't think I'm losing as fast as some - but I'm fine with 19 pounds in 3 weeks. I could have NEVER done this before. My advice to the newest sleevers ... hang in there. You'll have good days and not so good days but you're on the right path.

    5 months after surgery......

woo hoo! Awesome results I'm going on a cruise in September and really looking forward to seeing results by then. I'm 2 weeks out and down 26 pounds so far

    please help

Hit enter before I finished! I had very little pain at all and ZERO gas issues. I was up walking about 4 hours after the surgery and continued to walk about every two hours. That was a huge help. They will probably give you a morphine pump - I stopped using mine the first day because I really didn't need it. After about 5 days I was feeling pretty much like my old self. Good luck to you - you're going to love the sleeve.

    Filling? HA!

you are not the only one I struggled through my two week pre op. I was thrilled to see surgery day because I knew I wouldn't be HUNGRY anymore! And I'm not .... for the most part

    please help

I would imagine you have done lots of research and know that you have a great doctor and a great hospital location. Take a deep breath .... you can do this.

    I hate this surgery.

I understand your frustration. I am two weeks out today and currently in my first stall. But - I know that it's temporary. This forum has been a life saver for me. When I'm having a tough day, I start looking for posts from people with similar issues. I always find one! I'm especially thankful for the people who are still posting 4, 6, 12 months out. It really helps to see where they are at today compared to where they started. I was at a KU basketball game last night (ROCK CHALK!!) and with a group of people in a hospitality room. There was so much food there and I had 3 little bites of mashed potatoes and my stomach started telling me .... enough. It was frustrating to see all that great food and not be able to eat any of it. The old me would have plowed through the cheesy chicken, mashed potatoes, cheesy broccolli and the whole dang bowl of m & m's directly in front of me. I had a 1 minute pity party and then moved on. As I climbed the many stairs to my seat - I noticed that I wasn't huffing and puffing like usual. I got to my seat and didn't have to have 5 minutes to catch my breath. I also took up a bit less space in my "seat" and then I remembered why I did this in the first place. I know me. I had ZERO control over portion size. I would eat everything in front of me and more. I'm on a journey - it's not always going to be easy but it WILL BE WORTH IT. Give yourself time to adjust and listen to everyone on this forum. They are smart people who have paved the way for us. Good luck to you.

    Anyone on here in Kansas?

I'm doing really well. Very little pain. Zero gas issues. The key is walking. I am learning that small bites are much easier to handle Have a positive attitude and you will be fine. Good luck!
  17. I'm 9 days out and doing really well. I'm down 15 pounds since surgery and 24 pounds overall. I had very little pain after surgery. No gas whatsoever Having a hard time getting all my water and protein in each day but I'm working on it. Loving my sleeve.

11 days post op probs with protein

I am too. I am looking forward to seeing what ideas others may have.

    Thank you!

I love this forum. We are all in this together
  20. Cheri is right. I can't drink ice cold water so I fill a few water bottles and let them get to room temperature I really like the mio drops because they came in lots of flavors and a little bit goes a log way. I have my bottle next to me all the time and do my best to sip sip sip. I'm not sure where you live and if I was close I would come help you myself! Good luck. You will be awesome at this process

    Anyone on here in Kansas?

I was sleeved on 12/26 by Dr Kowalski. I was self pay so the process took about 45 days. I am one week out and down 15 pounds since surgery. 24 pounds down since my first visit with Kowalski. Love my sleeve

    fell off the wagon!

This is my favorite quote "Nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels" 1 pound is nothing! You can do this!
  24. I was sleeved 12/26 and have sailed through I started the process at 257 pounds, 248.8 the day if surgery and 235.2 this morning. My surgery was un eventful, I used the morphine pump for about 10 hours and then stopped using it. I never had severe gas pains, I was up walking about two hours after surgery. I went home the following morning and I'm still cruising. I sip water all day, eat my SF jello and manage to get in about 20 grams of protein a day. I am a little tired but figure that's to be expected. This is the best decision I have ever made. If you are scared because of the horror stories you may read on here- take a deep breath and dive in. It's not all wine and roses but its bearable Good luck to everyone.
