    bulimia

You really do need to stop immediately. Bulimia can cause major problems with your esophagus, worst case scenario being cancer and when part of the esophagus is removed they use part of the stomach to repair and replace. When you have a sleeve there is no spare stomach to use. Please seek some help for this problem before you do some damage.

9 Days!! Wow!! That does seem like a long time but every doctor is different but I still don't think you should be worried about the pain. Good luck and let me know how you go.

    Newbie YAY! / Drain removal

I got my drain out before I left hospital on day 2 and I can honestly say that it did not hurt at all. It's a weird feeling, but no pain.

    Gym or Zumbe ?

I know I am dumb but what's Crossfit?
  7. Since I started eating normal foods I stopped the protein drinks but everyone else still seems to be on them. Am I doing something wrong?
  8. I am 2 months out and am laying in bed listening to my stomach going crazy. I think it's worse after I drink. It makes that noise like when you pull the plug out of the bath.

    Bladder changes

I don't get up at night and I don't go very often during the day. Where is all that water going?
  10. Hi Teddy Bear, I am only 2 months post op but as no-one else has replied I thought I would give a little advice. I had a week like this 2 weeks ago. Constant nibbling and thinking I was eating so much that I had stretched my sleeve. So I just went back to basics, 3 meals a day and calorie counting on MyFitnessPal. But I think that my problem was that I wasn't keeping up with my liquids. The stomach is a strange thing and sometimes it tells our brains we are hungry when we are actually thirsty. Start drinking your fluids, this helped me get back on track.

    My Final Diet Plan

Good luck. Last minute nerves are just part of this whole thing. I am sure you will do fine though and just keep thinking about all the positive changes that will happen in your life as you lose weight...........and this time you won't put it back on.

    Grazing

Where do you buy melatonin? I need some!!!!!!! Maybe it's just that the new, slimmer us have more energy and don't need as much sleep. Maybe we should go out dancing til 3 am every night. Sounds like more fun than counting sheep.

Which surgery would you have first?

8 months ago I was told I needed 2 knee replacements. I could manage a 10 minute walk before the pain was too much. As I am only 55 and knee replacements only last 10 - 12 years, this didn't seem like a great idea. In November I had VSG. To date I have lost 42 pounds. Today I went for a one hour walk in a hilly area and I have no pain at all. Definitely have the VSG first because you may find, as I have, that the knee replacement can wait.

I think my nightmare has come true.....

At 4 - 6 weeks I was eating about 400 calories. An egg or Greek yoghurt for breakfast. Protein shake for lunch and soup for dinner. There are a lot of high protein soups in the supermarket and you can add some pureed chicken to increase the protein if need be. I was also having 2 snacks a day. Usually a low fat or soy milk ice or hot chocolate and a piece of cheese or small amount of baked beans.

I am lucky to get 4 - 5 hours sleep since I had surgery. I thought this was just me.

    Panicking...

You have always been so confident and sure of yourself Amanda, I am a little surprised about how you are reacting but we all have "what if" thoughts the closer we get to surgery. I have seen you give some really good advice to people on this forum, step back and give yourself some advice. You are well prepared for this journey and you will be fine!

    Attention ! Australian Sleevers

Hi Everyone, I am sure that this has been done before but I would love to get some friends on MyfitnessPal. My name is Lady53 if you are interested. Live in Melbourne. Surgery was on 14/11.

    I hate this surgery.

OnAJourney, when I was at your stage, if my partner had something and the sight of it was driving me crazy, I would have a small bite and chew for about 5 minutes. You get the flavor and sometimes you find that it just isn't that great anymore. And rather than think about quantity I would think about eating something quality. Some restaurants don't have quality at all, and if that's the case don't eat. Order a low fat ice chocolate and you will feel satisfied.

Love Greek food! Went to a Greek restaurant the other day and had half a quail and a fetta stuffed mushroom. It was so yum!

How I keep from over eating!

So 4 oz.s is about half a cup. That's what I would eat if it's protein like chicken or fish but if I eat soup I can eat about a cup. Is this too much? I am 2 months post-op.
