  1. well, from what i have researched, there are lots of good doctors in mexico, and regardless of wether he agrees with your decision or not, with you being his baby girl he should support you no matter what your decision is...do what is best for you and know that this time next year you wl be smaller and healthier????

  5. Congrats to your partner for me......bedt of luck to you both..
  6. the whole point of the liquid diet is to eliminate carbs and fat from your diet to shrink your liver so they can safely retract it during surgery. It eliminates your glycogen stores and the fat in you liver is is decreased which shrinks your liver. If you eat food, you are adding back to your glycogen stores. I am not trying to scare you but the doctor i work for has a patient that went into surgery and the bariatric surgeon stopped the surgery because her liver was too big. My surgeon said that i would be able to have 1/4 plain natural almonds once a day and non-starchy vegetables between meals (shakes)bif you are struggling with hunger.....best of luck.
  7. first you need to find out their requirements a if their is any waiting period for anything related to a preexisting condition you may have and if you have to meet you deductinle and coinsurance maximum. Find a surgeon that is associated with a hospital that is preferred by your insurance company, then contact them regarding their info session, usually all bariatric surgeons require this, if you have not done so already. After the info session they will comtact you for your first appt.
  8. check out endobariatric.com or cosmed.com

  12. Torani sugarfree syrups are awesome, and i also like yoplait frozen smoothie bags in the freezer section, it only takes a few pieces out if the bag and they last a while.....
  13. Not all proteins are created equal, buy your samples now: bjsbariatrics.com, mybariatricpantry.com, ohyeahnutrition.com, and bariatrichoice.com are good websites....
  14. Well, the diet is to shrink your liver.....i would ask the surgeon to be sure because if your liver is too large it could be damaged during surgery, so its a safety thing......
  15. I use a personal blender by hamilton beach. I use 8th Continent soy milk and one of my favorite protein powders is SixStar Elite Vanilla. If you like coffee you can use 8-10 ounces of milk and one scoop of vanilla protein powder, 2-3 tsp. of torani sugarfree chocolate syrup, one individual packet of instant decaf coffee and 1/4 cup of ice. I mix everything except the ice and then blend it with the ice, this is my favorite shake, i have this every morning..........
  16. Congrats on your approval!! Just give your surgeons office a little bit of time, 3 or 4 days should be long enough, but I too am very impatient, thats about as long as I could wait.....
  17. an endoscopy is no big deal, i recovered from mine within an hour. I was only out for like 15 minutes and in 30 minutes I walked out of the hospital, of course my husband had to drive us home, but I wasn't woosy or anything, had a deep hunger feeling for days though....
  18. cool, let me know how you like it.
  19. Hmmm... Might try that, thanks. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  20. For me it depends on if the protein is something that will go good with milk. Like the syntrax nectar sweets go well with milk so i use soy or lactose free skim, but the fruity nectar goes better with water and ice blended together.
