  1. Sleeved dec 2012. Lost 100 pounds. Highest 298 current 207. Ultimate goal is 160. Size 24/26 to a 14/12, 2XL to a M. I recently had a steroid epidural injection that caused me to gain weight.

I need to get back to basics. Other than cutting calories to 800-1000 what advice do you have? What helps you get over the stalls? What foods...calorie number... Exercise? I need a good jump start again. I tried to find lil divas boot camp thread, but had no luck. Anyone have that?

Thanks for your encouragement in advance!

  2. I started the mayo Clinic Diet today. I mainly wanted to do it to jumpstart things again and to clean my body of the bad junk I have had the last few weeks. I feel ok so far. I will update in a few days with the progress. I have a wedding to attend at the end of next month. That will be the first big event I've been to since I've lost weight. Im 20 away from 100...Yes, I realize I'm a slow loser, but with all that's happened in the last year I am happy with that and working harder than ever! We got this!! Update soon!!!!!

  3. So' date=' i have been guilty of falling back into old habits and my weight loss has been on hold for 3 months! I was looking at everyone's progress and i thought OMG what the heck am i doing????? Well, yesterday i went back to basics and just in that one day i lost 3 lbs :)!!!! This is a tool and even after going astray for 3 MONTHS it still works. I know there are hers out there that are or have been in this predicament but, you do not have to be. It is never too late to get back. If i lose 9 lbs. a month i will be at goal by December (1 year surgiversary). THAT is soooooo do-able :)[/quote']

I have been there. Finally getting back on track! We got this!!

  4. Guys and gals I need encouragement. I fell off the wagon...high stress of ending a six year relationship' date=' changing jobs after four years, a best friend going off to rehab (shockingly-was unaware of the abuse), a brother going wild, & a few other things just got the best of me. I have sat down and read my book again from the Dr. I've made a food list again and got my mind focused. Please tell me how you jump started if you started slacking. I haven't lost any in a bit. Only down 70 (have thyroid problems so I am a slow loser, but I should have more progress). Ideas of a food plan to jump start things again...I've been looking for divas back to basics thing, but I can't find it. Any other encouragement or things that might help are appreciated. Congrats to everyone!!!

P.S. still walking several times a week...mainly need to focus on food I think. dde15[/quote']

Also...down from a 3x, 24 to a 16, Xl/l. There's progress just not enough and it's came to a stop. Going to drink Water all day!!!

  6. I haven't been on in the last month, but so much has changed. Down 52 lb 12/19/12. I started walking two miles almost everyday and I'm now doing a squat challenge. I'm about to start the breakup process...from a five year relationship. It's not the weight, I am just so unhappy where I am. That being said I am no longer hungry at all. I don't know of it is from exercise or my nerves??? Ideas!? Also my hair is so thin now I loose so much daily....what do you all use to help with this issue. This may sound like a sad or negative post, but it isn't. I'm so proud of my progress, but I'm just a little worried about my hair and appetite. Also all you walkers....how many miles do you do and how often...what's you normal loss pattern? I'm wondering if I should walk more miles daily. THANKS Y'ALL!

  7. I have fibro 2 n My arthritis Dr. the other day told me 2 try the Lap Band 1st' date='but

i told him i wanted the Sleeve... So im not sure what 2 do now???

    Any1's thoughts????[/quote']

Sleeve! That's my own preference. I've noticed some of my doctors aren't as familiar with the sleeve yet and i think thats why that suggest the band. I get hundred questions from them so they can carry out info to other patients. I feel I can still lead a more normal life with the sleeve and the percentage of weight loss is a little higher with sleeve over band.

  8. What is your Tsh level? I was able to bring mine down to 1.37 before surgery so I'm hoping I won't be a total slow loser. Mind telling me your thyroid level?

When I was first diagnosed it was 26!!! It got down to normal, but I'm not sure the numbers. I have to get it checked the next time I go to the dr because I can tell I need a different dosage now that I've lost some weight.

  9. I'm 6 weeks out' date=' exercising regularly, drinking all of my Water, 600-700 calories/day, 80+ grams/protein, and I'm down 16 pounds since the day of surgery (about 20 lbs for the 6-month weight loss program prior to surgery).

I would love to be down 70 lbs by next week, but I don't think that it is going to happen! :-) Or even 56 pounds in 3 months. Both of you who posted about being concerned about your rate of weight loss are doing awesome--congratulations!

I have always been a slow loser due to hypothyroidism, but it is funny how some posters feel like you are losing slowly when for others, the rate would be really fast! I guess it's all relative. We do all lose differently and we have to have a "good" that is good for us personally.

I think it's the poem Desidirata that says: "Do not compare yourselves to others, so there will always be greater or less people (rates of weight loss), and you will be come bitter for vain." LOL! But it's easier said than done.[/quote']

I'm in the hypo club too....SO FRUSTRATING! I forget that I have the hypo curse and wonder why I'm trying so hard but the pounds aren't coming off. Thanks for reminding me...we have a little crutch that makes things move a little slower.

  10. When I asked about Advil I was only a couple months out...my RN said take Tylenol for a bit longer. You might try that. Fibro is the worst, nothing soothes me. Try a hot shower or ice or heat pad and movement. I know heat isn't always the recommended but its gotten me through some of the worst times. I pray it eases...I know how bad it can be.
