    I hate guessing :P

oh crap, sorry didn't mean to leave you hanging. Got distracted...new girlfriend!!! :D She's NOT Crazy.. at least I don't think...she's British...so that might qualify not sure yet..seems sane though...NOT getting married..never make that mistake again....Met at the resort...hung out all week..lots of fun...actually thinks I'm cool...really a very goooood week :P

  2. Welcome back!

I stressed about gains while on vacation but came back unscathed! Now it's just about getting my head back in the game.

But you lost weight?? Show off :P

The beach sounds nice. We toured every sweltering hot place there was..,

Hey what can I say :) ....Wasn't expecting a loss...Swam in the gulf everyday, wanted to surf but the waves weren't cooperating....ran everyday...was lazy everyday...visited the tiki bar every now and again, never once worried about what i ate or didn't eat...probably the first time I went on vaca and came back lighter than when i left....also bigger news....

  3. just got back from a week in Destin Fla. Ate a lot of fresh seafood, made BBQ shrimp on the beach. Indulged in a glass or three of some fine wines. Ran every day on the beach, but mostly just laid around. Came home with a 1 lb loss....felt really good.... :)

  4. Well...you shouldn't be vomiting at all. So I would try to address why that is happening. Do you have a nutritionist? You should probably be sticking to your post-op eating plan. If you are still vomiting (or vomiting) at all 3 months after surgery, that really needed to be addressed by your Dr. Since we have no idea of what you eat daily it would be virtually impossible and not a good thing for us to try and tell you what to eat. Do yourself a solid and get with your Dr.

  5. Everyone is different. There is no set "range". It is going to depend on your current weight, your goal weight and the amount of activity you get in a day. Your nutritionist would be the best resource for this. I do know that discussing it with my stalker nutritionist yesterday she mentioned 1200 kcals for women after a year and 1400-1500 for men, if they had already lost most of the weight that they wanted and were not sedentary.

  6. The only food that I ever had problems with was eggs. It took a month or so before they didn't make me nauseous. Other than that, I haven't had a problem with any food. Since you are getting food at 4 weeks, I would suggest softer foods like steamed chicken or fish. No heavy sauces or pastas (I don't eat any white foods at all) no fibrous vegetables and minimal starches. Go slow, chew well, Proteins first. Remember the drinking rules.

  7. I ordered Quest bars and can't stand them! I tried 2 flavored but can't get over the taffy like texture of them. Now I'm stuck with lots of extras lol. I haven't been lucky finding the right balance between Protein and taste :/

Try microwaving them for about 10 seconds. The chocolate ones are really good that way as are the apple pie it softens them up quite a bit. Right out of the wrapper, not so much.

  8. john- I figured it was something like that.. sorry about your foot..

Thanks, it screwed my out of my long run today. It has been pretty tolerable until yesterday but now I feel like I am back as square 1. I've got access to a track tomorrow, so I am going to try and do the long run there or at least W4D3. I'm going on vaca on Saturday and do not plan on doing a lot of heavy running.

  9. For those that are in the Seattle area, I would not mind running around green lake on a sunny afternoon. It is about 3 miles around and there are always runners and walkers circling the lake. Anyone game? It does not need to be fast; we can just jog and chat, perhaps holding a mocha in one hand. :)

Hey Fiddleman, I will be up there sometime in August, and would love to get a run in with you. It won't be fast I can assure you. :)

  10. I had surgery on June 10th and I am wanting to do sit ups. I have lost 18lbs since the 10th and know that I am going to have a serious apron and want to start working at tightening up the skin early. I am now down to 242 lbs and I am ready to work . Is doing sit ups at this stage too early?

Probably way too soon for crunches. Your abdominal wall needs to heal completely or you risk a hernia. I'm 7 months (today) and I still have a bit of tenderness if I do a lot of sit ups. Also know that sit ups aren't going to do a lot for the skin issue.

  11. So yes, for a few days or even a week or more, you probably aren't going to feel like tap dancing. It will pass. The main things to keep in mind, is DO NOT get dehydrated...drink your fluids even if it tastes like crap and you don't feel like eating. Second, MOVE! The more you move the better you will feel. You don't have to go run a marathon, but do some moving around. Yes, you will be uncomfortable, there's been a party going on in your insides so it will be a few days before you are feeling good again. Hang tight!

  12. I know I've lost a lot in a short matter of time but I've seen so many people lose 60-70 pds by now I guess I need to stop looking at other people's progress. :(. That's what discourages an makes me think I'm not losing fast enough.

Hey I hear ya! I about chewed my key board reading the thread about people who lose all their weight and never exercise...that makes me nuts because I just about live in the gym and don't see a lot of loss. Someone really wise on here told me not to compare me to others (I was having the same disappointments as you are), so that's what I do, I worry about me only. The thing to keep in mind is that by losing slowly, you have a better chance of keeping it off AND you have less of a chance of having all that loose skin flopping around. Just trust your sleeve and follow your plan, it will happen.

  13. Why do you switch it up like that?

Ps. I'm so slow. I do 1.5 miles at week 3 day 1.

Running outside is significantly different than running on the pavement. I am doing my inside running to build endurance only and my outside running to work on form, going up hills, setting the right pace etc. Stuff that is harder to do inside. For example, Week 8 day 2 is 28 minutes of running. On a treadmill, I usually don't have a problem doing that. But outside, I might only be able to do 15 or 20 minutes depending on the course I am on. So I backed up to week 4 outside, but keep working on weeks 8 and 9 inside to build up the endurance side. At some point, I should be able to just switch to outdoors full time, probably in another week or two. I'm also battling a really bad foot problem and the pavement is really hard on it.

  14. Yea I totally get what ur saying I think I've just been most of the time on stalls than losing weight :-/ I've lost 50 pds in 4 months but still like I said I've hit so many stalls it discourages me sometimes:(

So I don't think that drugs are going to help you. You've lost a ton of weight in a short period of time. What was your expectations? That always puzzles me when people say that they've lost a lot in a short period of time, but still aren't happy with the results. Keep in mind we didn't get fat overnight, and it isn't going away overnight either. Stalls happen. It is our bodies way of readjusting to the changes that we are putting it through. You'll break the stall, everyone does. I am a slow loser but I wouldn't think about taking drugs again. I'm in it for the long haul.

Hang in there, you'll get to where you want to be!

  15. I don't exercise to lose weight I exercise to gain health. You can lose weight without exercising, but just half hour a day of aerobic exercise will give you TONS of health benefits.

^^^This x100!!!. I worked out as a fat ass and I work out now. Doesn't have anything much to do with losing weight It has more to do with being healthy. Even the smallest amount of exercise will increase your overall health and decrease your chance of significant health problems. I couldn't see me having this surgery without working out. Even if it is just a walk around the block, there's more benefit than just weight loss.
