  1. I'm home...Thankfully my husband, his 4 adult children, and our 4 grand kids, agreed to a January 1st Christmas this year. ( my husband working, and me not very mobile). I'm taking nothing for the pain yet, was gonna try CVS here in a sec, but it is Christmas Eve... have no idea what's open. My husband should be off 10pm, if the snow/rain/storms hold off for North and East Texas, otherwise he be home 6am. Really surprised I didn't get a pain shot or script....because I really cannot do anything but sit here by my lonesome... I'm okay though, I'm gonna make it thru this.

  2. Wow. That's the first time I've heard that before. I hope you feel better soon. Try really hard not to use your stomach muscles for a few days. sleep on a recliner or w lots of pillows. If you are laying down' date=' to get up have someone help you from behind. The less 'sit up' type of strain you put on your tummy, the better you should feel. And try not to bend to pick things up either. Good luck![/quote']

No doubt! The only time I am pain free is laying down and some sitting up. My hubby working until Wednesday, so I thought I'd run to Walgreens for some Tylenol... Huh uh! Nope ... barely got in door, back to car. Waiting for it to subside now, so can drive with all these hooligans out here. Ho Ho Ho!!

  3. Well I have peace of mind... On my way home. All labs, X-rays, and scans were perfect, ruled out everything that could be wrong. The burning pain, and weird skin sensation is being attributed to possibly nerves re-routing...Was told liquid Tylenol, but no longer than a week. I wish I had more of an answer, really. I have to trust that all is good, except being in pain...Thank you All'!!

  4. Checked in...blood drawn... IV started, and the 1st of two swallow of something nasty, next swallow in 30 minutes... Thank you everyone for your wonderful support on this Christmas Eve Eve!! Trying to stay positive and not think to much, as this is an anniversary date of a house fire and lost a beloved Great Dane, several years ago. "That which does not destroy you, defines you."

  5. Ok my skin is sensitive to the touch where the pain is...and I just looked in a mirror and it looks ever so slightly discolored in circle and bumpy. What the heck? I really really don't want to be admitted to the hospital...I can't believe this!

  6. Ok... I was leaning on my elbows in kitchen counter...and something knotted twisted I don't know what, but caused me to yell out and immediately find the couch. Do I go to the ER 5 minutes away, will they know what to do? Or drive 45 minutes to where my surgery was? I'm still hoping it's nothing, but it is consuming my thoughts.

  7. I've talked to Dr. last night... I'm barely able to walk normally...He said time to worry is if I started feeling sick. My surgery has been like following a text book, no issues once so ever, until this. Is this a chapter I missed. I've done nothing since yesterday but lay with a heating pad. It kills me to walk the few steps to make a shake or go to the bathroom. It's bringing down, dang it. I know there are worse issues than this, but I've been doing well and have been upbeat, and now my husband is home today after working 16 hour days and working 16 tomorrow and also Christmas night (works for electric provider, 24/7 operations). And I can't move. If Dr. not concerned because I'm not nauseated, makes me feel a bit better, but to get no relief, not even "the edge off"...I'm totally getting depressed....Sorry for my whining, my husband is trying to understand, but all I can tell him is "It hurts... right here"...I don't think U need an ER, but I don't know....Sorry again to unload...

  8. I know the pain you are feeling. I describe it as being stabbed with a hot knife. Sometimes I will walk holding my belly in (on the left side). Some get this pain a few weeks after surgery' date=' I was unfortunate enough to get it immediately. I was told it could take three weeks for mine to go away. I see improvements every day. I would contact your surgeon to see what they say. I was told to not over do it and to keep moving. I was told it was my internal stitches. I think they were tied pretty darn tight!!!

    So I FEEL your pain![/quote']

I think you're right. I did call my surgeon, and the on call Dr. called me right back! Said it sounded muscular/skeletal, mainly because I not sick or nauseated. BUT he also slipped in there "possible hernia"... great!, isn't that something poking out of something?? Said heating pad, 400mg of Motrin every 6 hrs. Tutu you described it just right... Thank you.

ps... thought Ibuprofen was off limits after sleeve??! Hmmm

  9. I just started eating last Wednesday, and really not much, cottage cheese, can chicken... mostly still Protein drinks. I'm not sick, nauseated or anything like that. It's like a sharp, burning type pain... when I walk, I automatically want to push in where it hurts and like try to support that area. I don't know if a sore muscle would feel like this. I've been more active in the last week, moving Christmas Tree around, climbed the attic ladder and brought down decorations, etc... But the pain stops when I sit and stop all activity. I went to buy an abdomen support thingy, but XL is to small! What is this? I've had no issues at all with my procedure, until this now.

  10. I'm almost 4 weeks post-op, and the last couple of days, I am experiencing excessive pain on my left side. The best description is it feels like a tree branch is trying to poke out of me. Hurts to stand, walk, breath, except when sitting or sleeping. Pain meds doing nothing, not even taking the edge off. My tree isn't even decorated yet... what is this pain?

  11. I had my 1st follow up yesterday. Was told to continue liquid diet until day 22, and continue crushing meds until 6 weeks out! If that helps the healing and prevents possible leak issues, then I'm good with that. I never had nausea, was able to get my Protein and liquids in right away. I've been walking about 3 x a day which totals about 1 mile. Yesterday I did some major house cleaning and today I can't bend over or reach or twist...oops, dang it. How is everyone else? Does anyone where or use a tummy support thingy majig? Also, is it better to walk further at a slower pace, or walk faster but not as far?

Wishing everyone well and continued successes!!
