  1. I am 5'6" and started at 208lbs. My bmi was 33or34. I am down 75lbs. I only wanted to loose 60lbs. Don't worry, it comes off about 2 lbs per week. The faster you loose then you get loose skin. I have some loose skin even loosing slowly and with a low bmi. I still had vsg even with a low bmi because I was so tired of the yoyo diet and the struggle. I was a size 18, now I'm a size 6. I'm happy. I don't want to be any smaller. Actually, I'd like to be a size 10 so I'm trying to gain 10-15lbs. Don't worry, the weight will come off by the time you know it. I can't believe I'm already over 10months po.

  2. There's not a lot of info in this. Are you having trouble keeping food down? Are you eating 400 calories? 1400? Practicing for a marathon? Sitting still? Also' date=' how are your blood tests? A1c? If you "look sick" you may indeed, be sick.[/quote']

I was having trouble eating. I eat about 800-1000 calories a day bc I just can't eat anymore than that. No marathon. I sit still bc if I work out, ill waste away. I drink my Protein. I'm sick of them though. I was low on Vit.D but now I take a supplement. Thats the only thing I was low on. What is A1c? I'm not sick, I just look too thin. Lately I've been noticing I can eat a bit more. Maybe I'm just gettn better now. Thanks for all the feed back. You guys are great.

  3. I'd never thought I'd say this, but I'm loosing too much weight. I am beginning to look sick. I started at 208lbs and now I'm 138lbs. Way too much weight loss for me. I'm 5'6". I try to eat more, and I have, but I just keep loosing. Hopefully I'll eventually stop loosing and start gaining. My goal was 150lbs. Anyone else who had a low bmi run into this? I'm almost 9mths po. I'm also lactose intolerant so there goes the milkshakes.

  4. I am so happy with my sleeve. On June 13th, I'll be 6mths out. I'm finally a size 10. Oh it's so wonderful to finally be the size I always wanted to be. Negative: well, I lost my round butt, but that's my fault because I didn't work out. I'll get it back though once I start lifting weights. Next, my breast are small now. Oh well, I'd rather wear a padded bra then to wear a size 20 skirt again. Oh the worst, I'm loosing my hair and I can't afford to loose anymore. Hopefully it will stop soon. So far its been about 2mths since I've been loosing. The good still outweighs the bad. The first 3mths were tough but now I'm so glad. I'd do it again in a heart beat. I wish I would of done this sooner. The best is yet to come. Yay!

  5. I get in abt 50grams of Protein in. I realize it's low but I just can't take in any more than that. I hear that it doesn't make a difference anyway. I started losing hair at 3 1/2 months out and now being 5mths, it is really starting to fall out. Oh well. I got a hairpeice to blend with my hair now so my hair won't look so thin.

  6. In the beginning I had total regret. I didn't have any complications, "I" was the only complication. As each day would pass, it would get a little easier. On May 13th I will be 5mths po. I now am so glad I got through those first months. If I had the choice to turn back those first months I sure would of. Boy am I glad I didn't have that choice because I would of missed out on feeling great and being where i am today. Yes, I do sometime miss eating a full plate espevially when its a favorite dish, but I'm okay with it. It has become a new way of life. I'm loving it.

  7. I am going to be 5mths po. I have had soda, but I can only have a sip bc of all the bubbles. It causes me some discomfort so I just take a good drink and I am completely satisfied. Even if I wanted to drink a whole 12oz can, I just can't anymore. I'm so glad.

  8. I stopped taking prilosec otc and a week later I started with all the gurgles even when I drink. I felt nauseated and got the stuck in the throat feeling. I bought some more prilosec again last night, took it and felt so so much better. I guess this is somthing I will have to deal with now. I nvr had this problem before surgery. I'm 4mths po. I didn't want to to be dependent on any medicine, but maybe I will be now. Does anyone know of a natural remedy?

  9. 1. My husband stayed with me in the hospital. He slept on the couch. It was pretty comfortable. He did have the option to rent the hotel for extra nights and stay there but it wasn't bad at the hospital.

    2. food at the cafeteria was good he said. I never got a chance to try it out though.

    3. The hospital rooms have their own private bath and shower. My hubby didn't have any complaints with the bathroom.

    4. I'm not sure, but I think they do have wifi.

    5. Dr. Aceves was great. The doctors checked in on me like 2-3 times a day. If it wasn't Dr. Aceves, it was Dr. Campos.

    6. Bring some PJs and a warm robe. This way u don't have to worry about ur behind showing while u do ur walking in the hall way. I brought pj pants that were very loose and comfy. U don't want anything tight.

    7. No issues, but then again, I speak spanish. I don't think u have too worry abt this too much as the staff deals with this constantly. I believe they pretty much understand some English phrases by now.

    8. The other patients that had surgery the same day went shopping. I didn't bc I didn't want to push it. Not for safety reasons but overdoing it even though I felt pretty good. I just thought it be better to take it easy.

Let me know if u have any other questions. I was pleased with my experience with Dr. Aceves and his staff. The only down side is being so far from the doctor when u get back home. I would of felt better having a follow-up with him in person but I didn't want to travel again. But I survived and feel good. I'm from San Antonio, Tx.
