  1. I get the runny nose too. If I eat too much, I get hiccups and burps and a heaviness in my chest. My problem is my head still says that's not enough food you ate, but I started to ignore my head voices and listen to my signals. If u choose to ignore the signals and listen to your head, believe me, your body/sleeve will put you "in check" right away. I'm still learning. Its a total new life style. Once I had this surgery, I was forced to change and there wasn't any going back. It's what I needed. That's just me.
  2. Yay! Me too. I weigh less than my hubby.
  3. I've got them too. I have to build muscle there and it will help smooth things out. When I walk, my legs shake and jiggle. I cant stand it anymore.
  4. I was sleeve by Dr. Aveves and he and his staff were very kind and professional.
  5. I sure do miss plain water. I get nauseated when I drink it plain. I've tried different brands of water too. I dont understand how people can make their goal of 64 oz. Im 2mths PO. Someone said to get water without alkine. Any suggestions?

    Smaller feet

My shoes are big. I love heels. I have heels I couldn't wear anymore bc I was too heavy and they were too tight. Oh yeah, im back in them now. Some of them are big so I just add a dr scholls cushion inside and they fit better and feel better.
  7. It will get better. I felt angry and depressed at first. I'm 9wks po now. I feel so much better. Ive lost only 30lbs so far and am happy. Honestly, I do miss my relationship with food, but im glad I broke up with it. I believe it had a lot to do with my break up with food. It was my will breaking. At first I hated, yes, I said hated, what I did, but now im learning my new lifestyle. I probably will be able to say at 6mths that I fell in love with my sleeve. Continue asking for support here, it helped me get through it. It really did. I know it's hard. Just keep moving forward.

    All of my December sleevers...

DOS Dec. 13th. Started: 208lbs Today: 178lbs Im happy. I know its only 30lbs but I expected that bc my bmi was 34 to start. Since I haven't been working out, I've gotton pretty soft. Uhhh, time to start lifting weights.
  11. I only told my husband and 2 kids. I did tell my 3 coworkers bc it would be so obvious. Its only us 4 anyway at work. I'd rather no one know bc I dont want to be judged especially bc I was a 34bmi. If people find out, well ok, but id rather just keep it my business. I didnt even tell my mom. Im 8wks po. People have been asking me how am I loosing and I just simply say I cut back a whole lot. (He he) I think that answers their question or they get the hint that I dont want to share the details.

    Self-Pay Sleevers

$8750 for Dr Aceves in mx. I paid for airfare. I was well taken care of. It included 1 hotel night and then 3 nights in the hospital.
  17. I regret it. Im going on 6 wks po. I just feel that I really could of lost this weight on my own. I am hoping by 6mths I will feel different. My starting weight was 208lbs and today I weigh 184lbs. Im happy with my weight loss but I dont think it is worth it. Your life changes whether you want it or not once u have this surgery. I dont understand how anyone can say you need to prepare yourself for it. You have to experience it and then your forced to change your relationship with food. Again, maybe ill feel different at 6mths. I wish I would of just become a vegan. I think id be healthier.
  18. I have lost 20lbs so far. I am happy about that, but I honestly would rather have those 20lbs back plus some if I could turn back. I hate this new life. I'm tired of being tired. I barely eat and barely drink. Water makes me nauses. I hear of so many great stories and keep saying, maybe next week or month or year I'll be better. I am hoping that I feel different at 6mths. At this point I really dont care about anything else but feeling normal again. I am not one that had any complications. I believe all im going through is normal but when will it be over. Yeah, yeah, I'm only 5wks out but I do regret this surgery. I wish I could take it back. Oh yes, I did do plenty of research too. Another thing I regret is having my surgery in mexico. The staff and surgeon were great but now who do I see for my followups. Email just doesn't do it for me. I dont have health insurance so I guess I just have to pull thru myself. Im sick of protein shakes, soups, and apple juice. I wake up each morning thinking am i gonna be able to eat and drink normal today?. Gosh I better quick because im could just go on and on the way I feel right now.

5wks PO, and YES I regret

I take my vitamins, b12, and calcium. They do answer my questions when I email them. They're great, its just better going to see your doctor. I can have solids but they seem to kinda get stuck. It goes down but its just easier eating soups. I eat some mushies but again it seems to want to pile up in my throat. The previous post said that she felt normal again in 6mths. I hope by then I will too. Thank you guys so much for your encouraging words. Im so thankful for this site.
